Hi Adrian,

according to our database we have only Series 3 listed and there were 9 episodes in that one...S3 E9 aired on 24/05/23.

last night was S04E04 & next thursday is S04E05 on 9gem. Yourtv has them marked as permieres as did icetv. However my history has S04E01-E09 already watched. please advise

Hi Ian,

The file is only in place while the automatic commercial detection process is running, if nothing is being processed at the time then the file will not be there.

So if you haven't had any recordings finish recently it will not be there, but within about 2 minutes of Pointless finishing being recorded it will show up again as the process starts for that recording.

Now that has gotten me wondering what is going on.

I was getting no ad skipping. I checked the folder and found NO 'commskip_running'. No amount of waiting saw it being created. I did a reboot and the file was created.

Since this morning, the file is no longer there. At the moment Pointless is being downloaded (in the post-padding part) and 'commskip_running' is nowhere to be seen.

When is the file created, or when does it need to be there?

I did a search for 'commskip_running' on the icebox drive and there is nothing found.

Did you delete the commskip_running file?

Well, I found the post of where it would be \userdata\addon_data\service.icetv but there was no commskip_running file.

As there was a break in recordings, I did a reboot and when it started, the file was created.

I will have to wait for a new recording to complete to check.

So, when can this file be created or is a reboot  needed if not there.

Fingers crossed.

When I said the ad skipping was being blocked, it was more a case of the data that IceBox was using to detect an ad had been tweaked.

But now no channels are detecting ads so it is the system.

I have turned the setting off and then back on, but recordings after that are not detecting ads at all.

A case of wait and see.

Thanks Adrian, this episode has been updated.
The episode of Hotheads and Hotrods has an airdate of 21/04/22.
We have that listed as Series 2. I will go thru' and update Series 2 to Series 4.
