IceTV EPG Content / Re: TV series on KidsWB
May 28, 2009, 12:49:50 PM
Thanks Madeleine, this is great news!

I'd been recording just the Ben10 time slot in the past but then they moved it and I hadn't got around to fixing it up.

This is exactly the sort of thing that I love about IceTV as it keeps me in the good books with the kids :)

Thanks Tracey! Now all I need to do is avoid the results for the rest of the day so I can watch it tonight.

Hi Ice,

The MotoGP race in the desert last night was rained off :)

They're going to re-run in tomorrow and Ten showed at the end of their broadcast this morning that it would be shown at 3:45AM Tues (they didn't say whether this would be on Channel Ten or Channel One)

With a lot of people away for Easter it would be great if you could update the Guide.

All the best,

Andy

Hi Madeleine,

Thanks for getting back to me. It doesn't look like I missed much in this case as the preview at the end of the previous episode looked pretty dull :)

I'd agree that the difference in episode title should have worked and I'd have thought it would, but maybe Vista examines the "first shown on" date and matched it to an episode shown and recorded on that date with the same name in the title (even if what was in fact recorded was a news broadcast). If that's the case then it's clearly not entirely sensible, but then this is the wonderful world of Microsoft and it may make sense in the US.

Is it possible for you to look into this as I'm pretty sure I've had this issue before with 24 and had to manually intervene to tell the media centre that the episode previously shown and recorded was not in fact correct and as I'm sure this will happen again in the future, although hopefully not due to any disasters in the world.

Possibly you could try removing the "First Shown on" information since it has not previously been shown to break the link?

All the best,

Andy

IceTV EPG Content / Mentalist on Wednesday 25th Feb
March 04, 2009, 12:24:00 PM
Hi Ice,

Can you tell me what happened to this show in the Guide.

I've been on holiday for two weeks and it was the only show not to record which was a big relief after the issues with Channel Ten the week before we left.

In the Vista Recorded History it shows the the title says something like "The Mentalist RESHEDULED" and Microsoft decided that the episode should not be recorded on both media centres as it had already been recorded. We were in Perth and they screened an episode that night as we caught the closing titles but perhaps in Sydney it was not shown?

All the best,

Andy

IceTV EPG Content / Re: Ten rebranding

Not sure why I therefore lost 10 (Channel Ten) listings from my Guide last night on both media centres if nothing changed on this channel - just a good job there was nothing set to record.

I also lost my Channel 7 listings and I'm not sure that there was anything changing there but since it was on two media centres I'd guess it was something at the Ice end?

Was it just me? If it wasn't then please can you confirm that the change is now done and there won't need to be another update?

IceTV EPG Content / Changes to Allow for News Coverage
February 10, 2009, 11:28:09 AM
Hi Ice,

Clearly a number of networks have changed their schedules to allow for extended news coverages.

While of little consequence in the big scheme of things, please can you watch out for '24' which was not shown as scheduled of Sunday night and 'How I Met Your Mother' which only showed the first of the scheduled shows.

I'm thinking mainly that the next time these shows are on then the show description will lag by one if you don't adjust i.e. the next '24' will be the 10:00 - 11:00 slot or whatever it should have been on Sunday and the next 'How I Met Your Mother' will be the Intervention episode which looked quite funny.

Cheers,

Andy

Thanks Madeleine,

I saw it in the Ice Guide and I guess that's the nice thing about a media centre with an EPG - it was already set to record :)

Thanks Madeleine,

Nice to see Ice is ahead of the TV guides with come with the weekend paper and  think even The Guide with yesterday's SMH was wrong.

Watched Sunday's Mentalist last night so I can see you guys had it right all along.

Re. Fringe, it's hilarious that in getting a new series and then pulling it after a few episode instead of shifting to a later slot in effect people have to find other ways to get hold of the programme if they want to see it. Isn't that going against everything they're trying to stop happening. I guess when you add that to the obvious issues with Nine's guide information and they're really shooting themselves in the foot when it comes to attracting people to watch their adverts.

All the best,

Andy

Hi Ice,

Are you sure that Wednesday night is The Mentalist in the Fringe slot.

It's funny because while I've read that it's moving to Wednesday a lot of guides are still reporting Fringe on Wednesday.

If it is The Mentalist then do you know what's happened to Fringe as I was quite enjoying it.

All the best,

Andy

IceTV EPG Content / House Delayed a Week
May 26, 2008, 08:42:57 PM
Hi Ice,

As usually happens, Ten pulled the new episode of House last week when the State of Origin was on, so the scheduled "Living the Dream" episode is now being advertised for this Wednesday night.

Not sure if you change the title if that will stop it recording this week as a repeat but maybe you could fix it up somehow?

Cheers,

Andy

IceTV EPG Content / The State Within on Thursday
May 26, 2008, 11:03:37 AM
Not sure why the episode title on Thursday is the date and not episode five (I think that's where we're upto)

Isn't the sort of thing which bothers me, but seems a shame since I'm saving the series for things to list differently and I know how other users like consistency.

Cheers,

Andy

Great stuff Daniel! You're timing couldn't be better as my manual recording of Smallville for the missus would have missed that it's a double episode this week and I'd have been in the doghouse  :)

Hi Daniel,

Just to confirm all of my checkboxes are checked. Have the guide downloading at 7pm.

Still getting the "Not for your region message" a fair few times, but the guide is working and updating fine.

Like I said, it's not an issue for me, but thought I should give the feedback given this is a beta.

Cheers,

Andy

Hi Andy,

When you receive the error and then go back into the PIMPmyMCE configuration screen, is the option for "Fix registry keys when changed" still ticked?

And just to confirm is the PIMPmyMCE application left running all the time?

Hi Daniel,

I'm not one to tinker so presume that the checkbox is still ticked. Will check tonight. PIMP is running at all times, as is my Media Centre now that Vista is installed  ;D

Just happy to have a Guide that works!

Cheers,

Andy
