I had this a few years ago and it is happening again today.  I have logged a support request.

You should find the toppy is ok if you switch the guide to air ( instead of icetv ).

Last time there was something corrupt in the icetv guide data.  Once fixed the toppy worked fine again.

A couple of weeks ago I submitted a support request stating under the dome (Ch10 Melb) was consistently starting at 8.30, not 8.35.

To their credit Icetv responded that they will adjust the time to 8.30 and "monitor".  It has been left at 8.30 since.

I suggest everyone do the same.  If icetv "guess" the start time incorrectly, (and it is a guess), submit a support request.  I suspect this will get old very quickly for icetv.  If icetv are going to play around with start times put the onus on them to get it right.

Thanks for the explanation prl!

I've been using IceTV for years and have never missed the start of shows like this before.  IceTV must have been guessing the start times correctly?

What a nonsense approach by IceTV.  So if a show actually starts when the network says it will, I risk missing the first 5 minutes (or whatever IceTV arbitrarily decide).

May as well set the recordings manually, then at least I won't have the wife annoyed at me for missing the start of her shows!

There seem to be a few channel 10 Melbourne shows where the IceTV guide (website) has a start time 5 minutes later than the actual start time.  I have been caught out a couple of times.
For example the following all have a start time of 8.35 on the IceTV website but the Channel 10 website shows 8.30.
Sunday.  Elementary.
Monday.  Wanted.
Tuesday.  Under The Dome.

Thanks

Channel 7 guide (Melbourne) and www.yourtv.com.au for Wed 2 June show The Pacific from 8.30pm to 9.50pm.
IceTv shows The Pacific from 8.30pm to 9.30pm.

Subsequent shows are also out by 20 mins.

IceTV EPG Content / Episode of Cops missing?
January 29, 2010, 06:06:37 PM
Region: Melbourne
Channel: Ten

ten.com.au shows an episode of "Cops" at 1:15AM on Sunday 31 Jan.  So does www.yourtv.com.au.

The IceTV guide shows shows an episode of Sex And The City at this time.

Which is correct?

If your Topfield - IceTV link has been setup and working correctly for some time, then just stops working, I suspect this could be due to the IceTv server being busy.

Last Friday night I could not get the guide, or any timers to download from IceTV.  On the Topfield I went into System Setting >> EPG Setting >> and pressed the red button on the remote to do a connection test, I got messages stating the test was successful.  But still no guide download.

When you do a successful connection test there is a dialogbox that pops up for a split second at the end.  Normally this states:
EPG: 60 minutes
Scheduler: 30 minutes.

I'm guessing this tells the Topfield how often to download the guide/times.

On Friday it stated:
EPG: 0 minutes
Scheduler: 0 minutes.

I suspect this is IceTV telling the Topfield its busy, and won't do a dowload?  I say I believe it is IceTv, not the Topfield, becuase it is IceTV that tells the Topfield how often to do a download.  Below text copied from IceTv webite "Most devices that support IceTV Interactive get their update timing from the IceTV server, which is about 30 minutes unless the IceTV server is under heavy load"

After a while the problem resolved itself, my guide and timers were downloaded to the Topfield, and the dialogbox went back to stating
EPG: 60 minutes
Scheduler: 30 minutes.
