Title: Daylight Saving & Duplicate HD Channels
Post by: ChrisW on October 07, 2018, 09:35:03 AM
Something appears to have gone screwy with the duplicate HD channels with daylight saving.

On both my Skippa and Beyonwiz, the guides have the HD channel shows one hour earlier compared to their SD channel equivalent.

In addition, all my timers have doubled up for these duplicate channels, as the shows are not occurring at the same time.

Hi there ChrisW,

Many thanks for your note.

We're aware of the issue and working to fix it. Will advise when the schedule is back up and running as usual.

Have a lovely day,

Tiphanee

Similarly impacted here in Sydney
Following this thread - can you post back in here when it's resolved along with what we need to do, if anything, to get our recording schedules working correctly

I've just rechecked my device & recordings in the app / on pc still arent on the device for today. Can i make the suggestion AGAIN that IceTV sends an urgent email to all users notifying them to manual check / set recordings for any shows missing or they wont be recorded, just as I have missed out on seeing Bathurst today.

I seem to have a problem too.  Not just with the HD channels (I have my timers set to "prefer standard definition" but shows doubled up, repeats recording, things marked to record that I haven't set, etc.  Here is a screenshot of just one day

Hi Judy,

My apologies for this inconvenience.

The daylight saving issue has caused the need for a huge EPG data correction nationwide.  As such my Guide Team will be working late into this evening to correct it.  I would ask that you hold off updating your PVR until tomorrow morning so as to be sure all the errors are removed.  Any recordings already set for this evening should be correct.

Not sure of this is the same issue, but for 7HD i have two different programs displaying at 11.30pm - see attached image. One of them is also scheduled at 12.30am. I also had issues similar to those Judy has.

I think part of the problem is that on Toppys (at least) the EPG data did not fully download when I set-up IceTV after doing the service scan. There were missing programs which eventually populated. But the error messages did not disappear. I suspect the problem is mainly with the way Toppys download EPG data and update timers. I also noticed some phantom one-time timers the cause of which I cannot ascertain. Have not noticed any major issues with T2 or U4.

See attached image.

Hi Ian,

I'm sure it's the same problem.

I you can wait until tomorrow morning to check as the guide team is working until late this evening correcting the daylight saving issues. Then we'll not confuse any different problems, if there are any.

There is still something amiss here.  I have quite a few shows showing on IceTV as single recordings (although they apparently haven't transferred to T4) OTOH, I do have two recordings scheduled to record on the  T4 for the same show (one HD), which doesn't seem to be showing as such on IceTV
Also, tonight two versions of "The Project" recorded, although one of them was an hour early and really was the news.
So, something weird is still going on

Hi csutak40,

I have had a look at your account and things are definitely looking better now.

I do think at some stage you will need to look at updating your firmware as well, we are working on an email to send out soon to all affected customers with detailed instructions on how to update as there are some very big bug fixes that make the IceTV integration much better.

I presume you mean firmware for IceTV, not Beyonwiz?  I'll await your email - wasn't aware that there were any firmware updates

No, this is the Beyonwiz firmware, which includes a new IceTV plugin.

Major firmware upgrades are only available as a manual USB update and they are not available via an online update.

Oh, must have missed one!  I thought I was up to date!

IceTV on the Beyonwiz needs firmware on the Beyonwiz to interact with IceTV, in particular, the Beyonwiz IceTV plugin (which is pre-installed). If you're still running firmware earlier than 20180417, upgrading to 20180417 will improve some aspects of the behaviour of the Beyonwiz IceTV plugin, in particular fix the issue of random gaps appearing in the Beyonwiz IceTV EPG when the actual IceTV data is correct.

The current public betas have some further improvements that allow IceTV to track the state of recordings on the Beyonwiz better when things go wrong, write IceTV log information to the Beyonwiz debug log (if it is enabled), and add IceTV parental guidance and genre information to be displayed on the Beyonwiz.

I'm not sure which firmware Daniel wants to recommend.

I do most of the maintenance of the Beyonwiz IceTV plugin.

Oh dear!  I have no idea how I managed, but seems I haven't done an update since March 2017!
I can't do anything about it ATM, as I am in a big mess with my network, so have to sort that out first.
Was having problems with my router (or so I thought) a friend lent me another, but that didn't fix the problem, (the problem may be caused by the NBN people fiddling in the street - some of my neighbours are also having problems) however the changeover did brake some of my settings, so I now can't see the Wizes on the network at all, among other things.
Anyway, figuring it all out is way above my pay-grade, awaiting a friend to visit to fix it all :-(

... however the changeover did brake some of my settings ...

When you upgrade (http://www.beyonwiz.com.au/forum/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=12456) to 20180417, "you cannot restore your old settings from previous versions or it will cause problems", so you'll need to redo all your settings manually, so I guess you'd be better off upgrading before fixing your network mount settings. If you need to change your router back to your own from the one you've borrowed from your friend, I suggest you do that before fixing your network mounts, because changing the router a second time will also probably cause the mounts to fail.

Suggested order of operations:
Wait until you have Internet connectivity stable.
Switch back to your own router, and make sure that's working properly with NBN. You can do this first, if it's more convenient.
Do a USB update (http://www.beyonwiz.com.au/forum/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=12456) to firmware 20180417.
Redo all your settings manually, including reconnecting all your network mounts on the PVR and doing a "Resend all recordings for this device" on your IceTV Web My Recorders page.

In firmware 20180417 only your "movie" directory (/media/hdd/movie) will be made available for other devices (like any PCs on your network) to mount as a Windows share. The Beyonwizes no longer export their root filesystems (for security reasons).

Thank you for this,
Bit of a misunderstanding.  Haven't got NBN yet, now due in Jan-March (they keep moving the goalpost - was supposed to be August)  However, they are non stop fiddling with stuff in the street
So, when it arrives, I will be needing a new router (which is why I didn't want to rush out and buy one now  ;D)
As it is (both with my router and the borrowed one) the speedtest often crashes, mostly during testing upload speeds
