IceTV EPG Content / Re: Tassie and Darwin SCTV
October 20, 2010, 10:16:41 PM
All programming on SCTV HD (LCN60) has now ceased and we have a static image reporting that 7mate will be starting from 6am Sunday. There have been no changes to the LCN's so it appears as though 7mate will be seen on LCN60 in Tasmania and I guess LCN70 in Darwin. Hope this doesn't cause too much confusion with the guides.

The change has been made to add SCTV HD details to LCN60 which now means everything is coming through perfectly on the Beyonwiz now. Thanks for that. Annoyed that Southern Cross change their advertised programs though! They advertised Packed to the Rafters but then took it off. I can't wait until the day when we can finally stop having double ups and missing out on programming!

Hi Mitch,

Going from the local newspaper here, they have listed all their normal Southern Cross programming (ie Channel 7 stuff) in the newspaper along with a small announcement at the bottom saying that during the period of the Commonwealth Games, Southern Cross will be airing on LCN 60 and 7TWO will be as normal.

So, the breakdown for Tasmania appears to be:
TDT (LCN 5) - Similar to Channel Ten, however Comm. Games coverage looks to be delayed by two hours. (Another bloody Southern Cross stealing live and exclusive content)
ONE (LCN 50) - Similar to One HD on the mainland, however Comm. Games coverage looks to be delayed again.
SCTV (LCN 6) - Same as analogue, looks to be Channel 7 morning shows as per normal and then Comm. Games coverage from midday onwards.
SCTV HD (LCN 60) - Now in SD, will show normal Southern Cross programming.
7TWO (LCN 62) - As per normal

I actually came on to ask if SCTV HD could have their LCN's changed as the ICE TV My Account page has the two 7Mate options (63 or 73) but it is still on 60 so my Beyonwiz isn't getting the info.

Also, to add to all the confusion, some programs will be slotted in for the analogue viewers after the games, I saw an ad last night saying that Packed to the Rafters would be on 8:30 on Friday after the games to catch up before the next Tuesday so there will probably be a few other shows crammed in. e.g. Home and Away etc...

Hope this helps a bit, all in all, it's all very confusing in Tasmania and is not helped at all by Southern Cross stalling the digital rollout and as such still poaching content from Ten, leaving us with 3 channels all screwed up.

IceTV EPG Content / Tasmanian Changes Needed
September 27, 2010, 05:37:12 PM
I have already lodged a support request but have not heard anything further since going through the "rescan to check your equipment tests".

The list of channels available for Tasmania does not include GEM, which is available in every other region except for Darwin (who may also be in the same position as us, receiving the channel but not guide for it),

We still have listed WIN HD and the programming data for WIN SD copied to it. If I want the guide for GEM I have to resort to turning off ICE Guide completely which means I can't set my timers or anything remotely. This is happening on all devices, Beyonwiz, EyeTV, iPhone app, Dashboard app and the website. The channel is not there.

Also, some other changes coming up, 7mate will commence in Tasmania after the Commonwealth Games and also during the Commonwealth Games, Southern Cross HD service will become SD and will be taking their regular Channel 7 programming. LCN 6 (the normal Southern Cross) will be taking the Commonwealth Games broadcasting alongside SC analogue, TDT SD and One HD.

I just noticed that ABC2 guide is still an hour behind. Is it possible to easily fix this up? Or is it set at the one time since it is a national feed? It doesn't matter if this one can't be fixed, the rest of the guide is still working great.

Just got home, will update soon and see how it goes.

WRT to the daylight savings, I think our time is much superior, I love daylight savings when the nights are lighter! A month or two ago, Steve Bracks introduced a thing looking for support for a national (states that do it) start to DST, it has received support but hasn't been introduced yet, but hopefully next year and they will all start on the first Sunday with Tasmania.

I think the ABC drops the hour between 6pm-7pm AEST (looking at the guide, this year it might be 5pm-6pm AEST gone), so then from the 7pm news until the next morning they are running on the right times (and then we get shows before the mainland!)

I've already had my first casualty, I forgot to set the time on the Toppy! I managed to get every other clock in the house except the important one! So we got the last few minutes of All Saints this arvo.

Ah well, I'll take a look at the guide later on and see what I can see is happening but I think a lot of today's was pretty good and then it was wrong from tomorrow.

Hi Mitch,

Thanks for the quick reply!  :)

You want the good news or the bad news? The good news, this is hopefully the last year it will happen (if the other states change their start date to match ours).

The bad news, it gets confusing. From what I believe, everything on TDT, ABC2, SBS and SBS World News will be one hour later. e.g. Neighbours will move from 6:30pm to 7:30pm, Ten News at Five will be at 6 etc... they're the easy ones.

The other channels all have a few scheduling changes all throughout, some on ABC and many live programs on SCT and WIN. Some examples I've found by comparing my grabbed guide and another guide are Sunrise and Today run from 7-10am rather than 6-9am. Australian Idol on Southern Cross (and TDT) will now appear at 8:30pm instead of 7:30pm.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but there are quite a few changes like that coming up. I'm not 100% certain that ABC2 and SBS2 will be an hour later, but that is what they have done in the past.

Cheers,
Chris

Been taking a look through the guide on the Toppy and on the widget and it seems that after tomorrow a lot of the data is an hour out.

Tasmania moves onto daylight savings tomorrow morning and Sunday's guide is fine, but from Monday there are problems.

Also, one other Tasmanian issue, Southern Cross Nightly News is sometimes incorrectly listed as Seven News, not a major problem but if there is a timer search for the news (I often come home later on and like to watch it and fast forward) it doesn't always get recorded.
