Hi guys,

Someone on another forum found a solution to the problem in Vista of the registry key being overwritten, and it appears to be a great solution.  I've added the fix to IceGuide4MCE.exe and released version 1.5 on the Support page of our web site:

http://www.icetv.com.au/support

Please give it a try and let us know how it works.  Hopefully this will take care of the problems in Vista.

Thanks,
Russell

The following program has been renamed to separate it from the older series:

   Old program name: Doctor Who
New program name: Doctor Who: Adventures In Time And Space

This change will begin with episode "Tooth And Claw" on Saturday 22 July on ABC at 7:30pm.

If you have a series recording setup for the old program name, you may want to change it to the new program name.

Thanks,
Russell

Announcements / Mark all messages as read
June 30, 2006, 02:20:39 AM
You may notice that suddenly the forum thinks all messages are unread.  This is unfortunately one of the casualties of the upgrade program we used to switch from the old forum software to the new forum software.  The upgrade program wasn't written for our exact version, so it didn't quite get things right when transferring over information about which messages had already been read.  To try to fix this, I've wiped out the "memory" for which messages have been read, and I'm hoping things will start working better now.

Here's what I'd suggest...

Check through the boards you're usually interested in and see if any topics have been updated -- they should be at the top of the list.  Once you've read everything new since the last time you visited, go back to the front page (click "HOME" in the tab bar at the top left), then click "Mark ALL messages as read" in the lower right corner of the boards list.  This will mark all messages, in all topics, in all boards, as read.  Hopefully it'll remember things correctly from that point forward.

Thanks, and sorry for the inconvenience...

The following program has been split into two programs:

   Old program name:
      "Seven News" (16:30 and 18:00)

   New program names:
      "Seven Afternoon News" (16:30)
      "Seven News" (18:00)

If you have a series recording setup for the old program name, you may want to create one for the new program as well.

(In addition to these programs, there is also a program called "Seven Morning News" at 10:30, which is not affected by this change.)

This change will take place starting Monday, 3 July.

Thanks,
Russell

Announcements / New Forum Software!
June 27, 2006, 10:55:48 AM
Check out our cool new forum software!  :-)

We're hoping it adds lots of great new features and fixes a few bugs with the old system.  Those of you that are active on the forums may want to click on "PROFILE" in the tab bar at the top and check all your settings.  While you're there, also click "Notifications and Email" and check to see if the conversion program got all your subscribed topics correctly.

This software allows you to subscribe to individual topics or to an entire board.  While viewing a topic, click "NOTIFY" in the tab bar on the right and it'll send you emails when messages are posted to the topic.  Or to subscribe to a whole board, click the name of the board (so you can see just the list of topics inside that board, not an individual topic) and click "NOTIFY" there as well, to have it send you an email when any new topics are created on that board.  (to subscribe to replies to existing topics, you'll have to subscribe to each one individually -- definitely room for a new feature there if you ask me)

There's also a pretty good Help System in this software, so just click the HELP tab at the top if you get lost.

One issue we're looking into is that it sometimes seems to display the "New Posts" icon on the boards list page even though the board doesn't contain any new posts.

If you find any other problems with the new forums, please post a message on the General Discussions board, or send us an email at support@icetv.com.au.

The new official address for the forum is now:

   http://www.icetv.com.au/forum

Thanks!

Hello and welcome to the IceGuide Content forum!  This is where we'll be announcing changes to the guide that may affect your recording schedules, especially if you're using a PVR that supports some type of "series recording" feature.  We try to keep these kinds of changes to a minimum, but occasionally it's necessary to change a program name.  When this happens, we'll post a message here so you can update the series recordings in your PVR and hopefully not miss anything.

Thanks!

Announcements / New web site is live!
March 18, 2005, 09:07:53 PM
I'm happy to announce that IceTV's new web site is live!

  http://www.icetv.com.au/

If you only see the old front page with the signup form, it's because your ISP hasn't found the change yet, but it probably will within the next few hours.

BTW, in case you're using an old address for these forums, the official address is now:

  http://www.icetv.com.au/forum

(which you can also get to from the Support page on the new site)

Please let us know if you find any problems.

Thanks!

Topfield / ICEguide for Topfield installer v1.0.0.2
March 17, 2005, 03:45:29 PM
The latest IceGuide4Topfield loader and TAP are now available for testing on the support page (version 1.0.0.2):

  http://server.icetv.info/support/

Important changes in this version:
  • Multi-region support has been improved.  An arbitrary number of ini files can be added and these appear in the list under the "region" button.
  • IceGuide4Topfield.ini holds the static information (apart from region).
  • The other files (sydney.ini and melbourne.ini) hold the region-specific info and any aliases you might setup on the channels for that region.
  • All ini files have been extensively commented so hopefully they will be easier to understand.
Thanks,
Russell
