Out of line? LOL in what way?

Over many posts you have lambasted everyone who dissed Ice while at the same time totally agreeing with their lament. Then you have dismissed their comments as not needed while taking 10x as many words to do so.

Warkus why are you such?  ::)

To save posting again and even though I feel it unnecessary I will answer Bodogs pestering and irrelevant questions. Yes I did order in the first offer and have been watching on and off since the start. NO I have NOT canceled my order because I am unhappy with the way Ice have approached their online presence. I do still hope the hardware is worth the wait and there may be a chance I am pleased, to quit now would be illogical, even if it may be the moral thing to do.

I don't choose to spite myself all the time and in this instance will see what the future holds, if I find that a different box may suit us better then I will have very little loyalty to Ice, as I'm sure everyone  understands.

As for your incredulity to my position, to me it is the same as me still being a customer of Telstra even though they lie to their customers, no other provider covers me, or my electricity company, I have no choice. I do hope Ice are in the same basket the best choice for me out of a poor selection.

Is that a spade I see? yes I think it is :D

Yes yes....but still why not explain why the problem has been so widespread? I suspect some advice such as, hypothetically .... there has been an issue at Ice and people's email preferences have accidentally been reset to none.... If so thus a post saying please everyone check your profile for email settings is correct would be helpful and honest. I assume this as others have found their settings have changed as such and so have I, but no doubt Warkus your opinion will remain in line with Ice and you will defend them to the death.

I'm not getting any of these delayed shipment emails and my email settings are all ticked under my IceTV account.

PM'd you about the missing emails.

You can see the last email you missed here:
https://www.icetv.com.au/email/5272/

Why PM about the missing emails? it is an issue that is affecting many here so why not post an explanation and fix for everyone?

I don't think it will bother the TV networks much at this stage. A thousand or so Skippas V's millions flocking to Netflix, not to mention all the people who go to the toilet in the ads breaks, there must be a way to stop that ;)

IMO that also confirms that the shows will be processed on your own box and not on a server.

Hey bodog is it just me that you have a problem with or are you also annoyed by all the other customers who are not happy?

Just noticed this post from IceTV on their Facebook page

"Our pre-orders are finishing tomorrow, Tuesday, at midnight, in order to be able to fulfil existing orders without further delay. We are shipping on a "first come first served" basis. This means earlier orders get shipped earlier. IceTV is spending extra money on air freight to accelerate the delivery and mitigate customer impact."

I don't know whether to believe that or not though, they have totally lost my trust, even if they do fly them they have chosen to break their own deadline by extending pre-orders to increase the numbers of their first shipment and they have not been very open with communicating that and instead tried to cover it with bullshit.

To me it is a LIE.....I don't find lying to be acceptable or excusable......I have given someone $400 of my money under agreement of them meeting the projected delivery date of their product.....and in return they have given me deception. But I am not surprised, this is just another continuation of how they have already been treating their customers for a long time.

Thursday 23 July their Facebook page was updated with a new show recommendation, but there has been NO apology or proper truthful explanation about why their much publicised shipping date will not be met yet again.

I am aware and accepting of the challenges they must face bringing this product to market and if they kept honest and open communication going then I would be disappointed in this latest delay but accepting of it.

Liers liers pants on fire, yu guys suck.

Love from,
Your customer.

I do keep a sense of humor about this, but also a keep the %^%$&ers honest attitude that I have about everything.

Just last week as my wife reset our ailing old PVR that has been giving her/us the craps (her maintenance and updating responsibility is the PVR mine is the PC) for the millionth time in the last year or so that I have been telling her that we should wait for the IceBox/Skippa instead of throwing it in the bin or sending it to Warkus or just buying a new Beyonwiz, she groaned with the familiar frustration of it and I joked "only a few months to wait for Skippa now" LOL and we both smiled :D

I have not told her of this latest news yet, I'll wait till it's a good time, if Skippa is a buggy non performer I will not try to convince her to wait for updates. I will either sell it straight away at a small loss, or smash it with a hammer and upload to YouTube for great satisfaction :D

Warkus I'm not really as upset as I sound, this is the ride I signed up for and expected, but that doesn't change what I said.

I do know who you are and I'm not trying to annoy you either, actually I admire your casual attitude, but I do think being so accepting of poor feedback is going a bit far. When a company offers a pre-release online to people like they have then I think timely and transparent communication is paramount.

Yes some of my post is speculation that is why I kept saying "IMO" to clarify that, I don't think that is stupid.

OK if YOUR speculation is correct and somehow not as stupid as mine, and they have decided to ship by sea freight instead of airfreight, is that not purposefully breaking a promise to ship (fly) deadline to maximise their profit at the expense of the first release pre-order customers like ourselves, just like I said. I paid and was told a deadline, if they broke that deadline when they could have kept it under the original conditions then is that not deceptive? so your speculation is saying the same as I did. The only difference is yours has a smiley at the end and mine has a frownie.

They were going to airfreight 1000 and get them here by end of July, now they are not, and they have not properly conveyed why apart from a half sent email which contents seem a bit incredulous.

You seem to disagree with me and yet agree at the same time :)

SKIPPA / Re: Skippa Pre-Order

Remember my August predictions 6 weeks ago back when the fanbois told me to not be so skeptical?

I am subscribed to both the promotional emails and the pre-order emails and I have NO emails from them as of 10:40 Friday night, kind of makes me wonder how they can run an ad-skipping subscription service when they can't even send an email to their customers successfully?

No updates on their Facebook......No updates here in their forum to their most loyal fans (if any are left).........they still have the last pre-order offer open on their web page, but it seems all references to ANY shipment date have been removed, I wonder when they deleted those lines?

I'm upscaling my view of the Skippa promotional team (if such exists) from sloppy, lazy and unprofessional and cranking that up to Deceitful, Deceptive and Unscrupulous.

Why?

Well IMO there is NO WAY what they have written in that email excerpt is anywhere near the truth, from the early frantic and erratic changes to their promotions I would guess that pre-sales were disappointingly slow to start, the lack of interest on mainstream forums reflects this also, even people here have been holding back.

The initial pre-release offer was said to be capped at 1000 units,  I find it difficult to believe that 1000 have been presold, but even if they have WHY could those 1000 not have been shipped as was always the plan from the start? WHY would extra orders after the 1000 cap delay the shipment of the first orders? Answer = They wouldn't.........unless Skippa staff actually did get more orders and decided to hold back the first orders on purpose so the later orders could be put in the same container and save them cash at the expense of not delivering on their promise.

I say the most likely scenario is that they have known for weeks now that the date was going to slip AGAIN and held off telling anyone while they deceptively kept pushing hard on the pre-order promotions while people purchased thinking the release was in July.

If that is true then IMO it's bordering criminal behavior :(

Yeah how about they tell us they have no Skippa's just before knock off on Friday afternoon?  Yeah that sounds like a plan, I don't want to be here when the phone starts ringing.

Well done Skippers, another fantastic effort.

So have they arrived in the Sydney warehouse yet and if so how many? If they are going to ship on Monday then they would need to be there today or tomorrow so you can spend the weekend putting postage labels on them.

Not much feedback on how the family and friends testing went. How is the manual proof reading going? Will that be uploaded before Monday?

Because if they were sending you the timers for ad skip for each show that your box records then wouldn't it be easier to just check you have a current sub then rather than sending an extra check each day regardless of if you are actually using the service or not. That is how I would think it would be best configured.

Also you didn't comment regarding the logistics of processing every show on OZ tv all the time every station every state. Will they process my local news show? I could be wrong, but I would be very surprised if they could do that. Certainly can't see how they could do it cost effectively, they would need a server bank in each state, maybe two in some. Unless I'm missing something in my thoughts on the matter?

Why is that your understanding?

As the Skippa reps have said that Skippa will check for a license once or twice a day I imagine that indicates that the ad skip processing with be on your local Skippa unit.

Plus if it was as you suggest that would mean they would have to process every show on TV all over OZ all the time, including all the outback and rural stations, which is a big and unnecessary task. Also if they are processing and sending time checks like that I imagine it would make them more vulnerable to legal action.

Another slip, doesn't matter to me though as I imagine my Skippa is a few weeks away yet at best.
