Luke, just an update. I just discovered that the pre-hard-padding is actually setting the show to record 10min after the start time rather than 10 min before.

Also, start-up to sys tray setting is not being honoured. The setting works if I start the app as administrator then change the settings. No, I was wrong this didn't work either.

Yep, I think everything else is working. None of my recordings have finished yet but I've checked their settings in MC7 and they're all set to hard-padding 20min which is what I set in the IceTV app. I'll post again if there are any probs once recordings are done.

The hard-padding is a really great feature. Once the pre-hard-padding is working this will make IceTV the perfect app for me.

Channel logos would be great but I'm more than happy to wait until ver 4.  :)

Hi Luke,
The pre-padding does not work. The post padding is really good with any show I've scheduled being set to record with 20 minutes post padding (without the where possible). The pre-padding is now broken. I've set my shows to 10 minutes pre-padding and they only start right on the show start time.

I've tried two ways. Leaving IceTV set to soft-padding 10 min and hard-padding 10min. Neither of these options worked.

Luke,

Have you had any feedback on the beta?

I've had two instances that recordings start failing to schedule and I've restarted interactive and it all came good.

Dave.
Hi Luke,
I had a recording fail to schedule (with the exclamation mark in the guide on the IceTV website) with the latest BETA. This is without enabling the inband option. Logging onto the IceTV website and re-sending all recordings to MC7 fixed the problem but it's not an ideal solution. Does interactive ever attempt to re-schedule failed schedules?

Hi Luke. The feature sounds really good if the TV stations inband guides are accurate as far as start and end times go. Would it be easier to just find a way to set hard padding as default on all recordings set by the IceTV software? That way MC7 would be forced to use two tuners where possible.

The only times where I've ever missed the end of a TV show is when I've had two shows on the same channel recording one after the other and forgot to set hard padding manually and deleted that second recorded show before checking if it had the end of the first show at the start of the file. Having IceTV automatically set the hard padding for me would save this from happening.

If IceTV follows the start/end times perfectly would this force hard padding or at least ensure that when two shows record on the one channel back-to-back that the enitre show is contained within the one file?

Thanks Luke,
Does this mean that if I enable inband that IceTV will override the padding settings set within media center? Currently I set MC7 to start 10min before and finish 15min after. If two shows are scheduled on the same channel then I go in and manually set the hard padding on the first show to force MC7 to use two tuners.
Will the new feature in IceTV override these settings? Sorry about all the questions but I appeciate your help!
Cheers
Dan

PS Your suggestion for enabling inband worked fine.

* enables the IceTV EPG to harness the present/following broadcast signals to adjust program start/end times. This results in more accurate recordings. To use this feature, you will need to right click a channel in the EPG and select "Edit Channel" -> "Edit Listings" -> "Enable inband guide" -> "Save". The next beta will do this automatically.

Hi Luke, Are you able to explain this a bit more. I'm not exactly sure what this feature means. Also, I thought that enabling the inband guide would disable the IceTV data?

Also, following your instructions I have no option to "Enable inband guide". I only have "Show no listings for this channel".

Any help with this would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
Dan

Hi Luke. Can you please explain, in more detail, the above feature? I'm not clear on what the purpose of it is. I also thought that if I enable the inband guide that I'll no longer get the IceTV data?

We're now working on automatic channel mapping, allowing IceTV to work "out of the box" and I'll take a look at why some of the startup settings are not being honoured.

I thought that IceTV did automatically map the channels? I seem to remember that it did for me as long as when I install the program I run an EPG update before I load Media Center.

Hi Luke,
I also wanted to mention that the last BETA you released doesn't appear to start in the tray. Whenever I boot my computer and log in I get the full interface open on the desktop.

Just checked my recordings and noticed that the IceTV website indicates that So You Think You Can Dance is scheduled to record tomorrow night however the recording is not scheduled in Win 7 MC. I have this set up as a series recording. This was the same problem as the previous version. Any ideas?

Thanks Luke. I installed the BETA. Do I need to reinstall the official release over this?

UPDATE: I think it just keeps posting these messages until the 15 minutes has passed before it can query the server again as it updated the epg and scheduler after 15 minutes.
