Hi Forum,
Current tippy seems to be dying
Thinking of this Humax 7510T but can's see any of the usual places stocking it.
Just a 7500.
Why isn't ICE TV selling the new one?
Any advice grateful accepted
Cheers and Best Wishes,
Philip
Hello Philip,
The 7510 model is exclusive to Harvey Norman. Humax is not making this model available to anyone else. However, we like the 7500 better, as the following differences between the two models illustrate:
HDR-7510T
Pros:
Faux brushed-steel front panel looks hi-tech
Larger play, record, stop, rewind, fast forward buttons
Cons:
Universal remote can only control the Humax and a TV
Subtitle, Audio, Sleep, V-Format are via menus, due to missing buttons on the remote control
When using the front USB port the large front door must be left open
No Slow Motion
No Bookmarks
HDR-7500T
Pros:
Universal remote can control the Humax and a TV, DVD Player and Sound System
Gloss "piano black" front panel blends in with other equipment
Subtitle, Audio, Sleep, V-Format available via buttons on the remote control
Can easily use the front USB port
Has Slow Motion
Has Bookmarks
Cons:
Smaller play, record, stop, rewind, fast forward buttons (most people skip ads rather fast forwarding)
For the above reasons, we believe that the 7500 is the better PVR and IceTV makes an irresistible companion.
Cheers, Heinz
Hi Heinz,
Thanks for a User's view of the differences.
Harvey Norman and Humax also list the following additional enhancements with the 7510t:
. Record two programs AND playback an existing recording at the same time
. Series Recording
. smh.tv:
More than 2000 Australian TV shows, movies and documentaries from around the world.
Choose from more than 50 genre.
. Video On Demand:
Instantly stream hundreds of blockbuster movies and TV shows from QuickflixPlay.
Is this all fluff? ie. Are these available on the 7500t ?
Thanks,

Oh and ..
. The 7510 auto refreshes the EPG on all channels after going to the first channel. ie It keeps them all up to date without the need to visit each channel grouping.
As far as I can see, the 7500 does all that too.

I am sure that the 7500 also does this... but as I use IceTV it doesn't matter because IceTV updates all available channels every 15 minutes no matter which channel you are watching.
