IceTV EPG Content / Re: Missing guide data?

Thanks for that,
I don't understand how that happened as I haven't touched them so I didn't even think to look there....  but I'll check it out in case anything else has changed...

(might be time for a password update)

IceTV EPG Content / Missing guide data?
August 09, 2022, 01:57:57 PM
Is there a recent problem with missing guide data?

I'm in Sydney and from around 12:00pm, have noticed a lot of missing guide data across all the channels.  e.g. it's not there for ABCHD or ABC Kids, but there for other ABC channels, missing for 7 & 9, there for 10 and some SBS channels.

Tried disabling and re-enabling IceTV plug in, logging in and fetching several times. Log says EPG and timers downloaded OK.

I have both a Beyonwiz T4 and a V2, and it's the same for both...

Cheers,
Brian

IceTV EPG Content / Re: Channel 74

....Oh, I don't know - I think there's room to include some useful guide details, like the program that has been on just now in Sydney - It could be covered a bit like this...

"The Renovator" - Made for TV movie-length action presentation, the hero of this piece shows a hard-sell approach as he tackles any problem thrown at him.  Shows that power can be used for good, but like all these types of heroes,  is a bit of a tool.....

Looks like I will need to talk to them also.

I've been trying to set two timers on Channel 10, starting yesterday about midday. Unit is a refurbed P2 with the latest FW (~.350). No timers appeared yesterday at any time.  Today I tried re-sending them from the web page,  waiting for the task scheduler, it would come & go with nothing transferring & no error message.

The shows are shown each weekday amd I have them set as a series.... don't know if that makes any difference.

I've had to set them manually or otherwise I would be in big trouble if they didn't record.  The things we do for a peaceful life......

Brian

Topfield / Re: IceBox2 Alternatives or Replacements
April 27, 2010, 06:19:57 PM
Also, as to a replacement - the WL-500GP V2 can be used - not as an Icebox - but it will run Oleg's FW and connect via ftp.  I have compiled a walk-through that details all the steps if you need it, just email me if you want it.

Topfield / Re: Toppies freezing during EPG loading
December 30, 2009, 06:32:35 PM
Hi Tony,

The toppies are freezing during the EPG upload process, as the file count gets to between 1300 - 1400.  The units don't freeze if EPG upload isn't running, and both toppies are doing it with separate TGD files.  I'll try to send you what I have,

Cheers,
Brian

Topfield / Toppies freezing during EPG loading
December 30, 2009, 04:59:22 PM
Hi all,

I have two 5K toppies, both run separate instances of TED to load the Iceguide.  As of today, both units are freezing when they get about 3/4 of the way through loading.  At first I thought EPG_uploader was corrupt, but re-loaded the TAP via ftp and it's still happening on both boxes, at the same point during the loading process.

I can get the toppies to stop freezing by hitting "0" when starting to stop all TAPs, then starting TAPS one by one.  This isolates the freeze to the EPG loading process.  From the data that was loaded, Just EPG seems to show that the shows & times are loading but some extended info is missing.   The extended info goes missing on Mon Jan 4 at the 6:00am time slot for all channels except 7TWO, which goes missing at the 8:00am time slot.

Is it possible there is some corrupt Iceguide data being downloaded which is causing the trouble? - Is anyone else having the same issue?

Cheers,
Brian

Extra thanks for the above info - my mother's WL-500gPremium (V1) recently became unresponsive, even after a Hard Reset using 30/30/30 as per the DD-WRT pages I couldn't access it.

IP Scanner couldn't detect it and there was no way I could access the web config. page.  I followed the above directions, using Windows XP.  I followed the guide to the letter.

However, the ASUS Firmware Recovery utility couldn't find the box at the default IP of 192.168.1.1, it only worked when I used a command prompt and entered the information provided.

As above, I fetched from teh web then then successfully uploaded the clear_nvram.trx  and recover.trx files specified, then renamed the icebox2.trx to icebox2.bin for the final step.   All good, unit is now working a treat!!

Cheers and MANY thanks,
Brian

Hi Tony,

Our ISP problems have been about router settings for internet connection,  so it doesn't drop out all the time.  LAN is fine and now WAN is more stable, so shouldn't be a problem.  I'm still getting the toppy ICE feeds OK from TEDS.

Router is a billion 7404VGOM, I have set up fixed hosts using the MAC address of the wiz, so it has a set IP issued by the router. Gateway & DNS are both set to the Router's address.  As noted on the BW forum, WizTV is working OK.

I hope that gives you a bit more info to work with,

Cheers,
Brian

Beyonwiz / Can't get EPG data.........?
July 10, 2009, 11:52:34 PM
I haven't been able to get EPG on the BW for a while now, below are my settings
Wiz (DP-S1) FW is 1.05.294
Wiz is set to a fixed IP on the router, connected by cable into the back of the IceBox2, I can browse the network & play networked files OK.
I successfully fetch twice a day for two Toppys that I also have using the PC.
IceTV is set to "Enable", name & password are OK & I have checked my device settings on my IceTV account web page but I can't select any device when looking from the BW - none show up.
The message on the BW says "try to get scheduler tasks", but never seems to report getting them.
Trying to Check user name & password just goes on forever, doesn't achieve anything, doesn't even seem to time out.

EDIT - I've also tried deleting, saving, then re-creating my device - no joy.  Router has been rebooted several times in the last few weeks, so I don't think it's that either.

Any clues?

Cheers,
Brian

I think that is a wise decision - we have waited this long so a little longer won't hurt us!

Sweet, sweet ICE - "Yes waiter, I'll have that *WITH* ICE"..........

It is sooooo good to see Nine's case end up "on the rocks", so to speak... :)

Congratulations to all at Ice TV!!

General Discussions / Re: Icebox2

The V2 can be used, just not with Icebox2 Firmware.  It will work fine with Oleg's FW and the relevant packages installed, search the DPG Topfield forums (not the new itopfield ones) for details.

Cheers,
Brian
