IceTV EPG Content / Missing guide data?
August 09, 2022, 01:57:57 PM
Is there a recent problem with missing guide data?

I'm in Sydney and from around 12:00pm, have noticed a lot of missing guide data across all the channels.  e.g. it's not there for ABCHD or ABC Kids, but there for other ABC channels, missing for 7 & 9, there for 10 and some SBS channels.

Tried disabling and re-enabling IceTV plug in, logging in and fetching several times. Log says EPG and timers downloaded OK.

I have both a Beyonwiz T4 and a V2, and it's the same for both...

Cheers,
Brian

Topfield / Toppies freezing during EPG loading
December 30, 2009, 04:59:22 PM
Hi all,

I have two 5K toppies, both run separate instances of TED to load the Iceguide.  As of today, both units are freezing when they get about 3/4 of the way through loading.  At first I thought EPG_uploader was corrupt, but re-loaded the TAP via ftp and it's still happening on both boxes, at the same point during the loading process.

I can get the toppies to stop freezing by hitting "0" when starting to stop all TAPs, then starting TAPS one by one.  This isolates the freeze to the EPG loading process.  From the data that was loaded, Just EPG seems to show that the shows & times are loading but some extended info is missing.   The extended info goes missing on Mon Jan 4 at the 6:00am time slot for all channels except 7TWO, which goes missing at the 8:00am time slot.

Is it possible there is some corrupt Iceguide data being downloaded which is causing the trouble? - Is anyone else having the same issue?

Cheers,
Brian

Beyonwiz / Can't get EPG data.........?
July 10, 2009, 11:52:34 PM
I haven't been able to get EPG on the BW for a while now, below are my settings
Wiz (DP-S1) FW is 1.05.294
Wiz is set to a fixed IP on the router, connected by cable into the back of the IceBox2, I can browse the network & play networked files OK.
I successfully fetch twice a day for two Toppys that I also have using the PC.
IceTV is set to "Enable", name & password are OK & I have checked my device settings on my IceTV account web page but I can't select any device when looking from the BW - none show up.
The message on the BW says "try to get scheduler tasks", but never seems to report getting them.
Trying to Check user name & password just goes on forever, doesn't achieve anything, doesn't even seem to time out.

EDIT - I've also tried deleting, saving, then re-creating my device - no joy.  Router has been rebooted several times in the last few weeks, so I don't think it's that either.

Any clues?

Brian

Topfield / Updating ftpd-topfield on IceBox2
June 12, 2007, 10:36:45 AM
Query for the gurus - I would like to take advantage of the Deadbeef USB patch; how do I go about updating the version of ftpd-topfield on IceBox2?  Is it as simple as accessing via putty then using the ipkg update & install commands as with, say, an Oleg FW box or slug?

Hi,

I was hoping someone at ICETv could enlighten me about the new firmware which showed up as available on my IceBox2... Just bugfixes, or are there some noticeable changes?

OK all you network gurus, it's time for you to to utterly bamboozle me with your expertise... my setup is as follows

I have an Icebox2 connected to my toppy; I have managed to set up an Xbox connected to the Icebox directly with cat5 cable (from another room by ~ 10m of cable), and access to the toppy's data files. The relevant cache settings on the Xbox have been set to the max.

When playing files from the toppy, the stream starts OK, but soon starts halting and stuttering; I found that pressing one of the gamepad buttons displays data rates - the buffer starts out OK but gradually (over ~20 secs) decreases to 0%, when the stuttering starts. Data rate appears to be "256000" for one file. (no units shown?)

What is the rate that Icebox can "supply the data off the toppy" - is it fast enough, and how would I test that?

Is there any way to optimise or adjust it?

Any info welcome,

Cheers,
Brian H
