So I posted a comment using the contact feature on their website and got this response:

QuoteHi Phil,
Thanks for your email. We’re so glad to hear that you enjoy our programming!
The information we send to all our program guide providers includes a notation of which programs are repeats, but there is evidently a technical difficulty with “Ice TV” which we will look into.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

All the best
Cristina Laria
C31 Reception

Hopefully they can work with you to resolve it.

Blokesworld won't be a problem anymore ........ thanks for letting us know.

I mentioned in another thread about the potential problem with series records on the community channels. There is no indication from them as to what showing is a first run and which ones are the repeats. Maybe a letter / email to them?
Thanks Mitch. Yes it's a bit of a problem until you work out which is the first weekly showing of each program. I'll see what I can do to get in touch with them.

Very pleased to find listings coming through for this channel now but just s few questions. It seems C31 are repeating some content up to 3 or 4 times a week but my Windows Media Centre is not picking them up as repeats. Is this by design?

Also note that Blokesworld cannot be set up as a series recording without setting up a custom keyword or channel and time recording. Will this be set as a series at some stage?

IceTV EPG Content / Re: AFL Guide Additions
September 30, 2010, 09:54:03 AM
Given that the guide reports the broadcast as HD, does that mean that the Seven Network are now broadcasting HD on what used to be 7 SD or 7 Digital (LCN 7)? If not, what channel is the HD broadcast on given that we no longer have guide data for 7 HD (LCN 70)?

Hear Hear. It will be nice to get some real program data again after having to put up with very sparse info. Congratulations Ice on a fight well fought... Oh and Nein.... Suck S^&t

General Discussions / Fair Go for EPG Users

For those who dispair about the state of digital TV in this country and want certainty surrounding EPG data, a group of people from the http://www.xpmediacentre.com.au site have starting a campaign for change.

They've just launched a site at www.myepg.com.au with an online petition and some tools for a letter writing campaign.

I'd urge anyone who wants a better EPG or who doesn't want the TV networks to dictate how they can use the EPG to have a look at the site and get involved.

For the record I was advised that this update was indeed intended for the Australian market but that their servers had a bug which prevented online update. I have no idea how the CD is supposed to work either but they have now fixed the online update servers and you should be able to update via the setup menu. (I and many others have.) If this still fails then you should contact Linksys support directly.

Me thinks you lie....

Quote - 'This problem is being fixed as we speak and you will already start to see scheduling information available for Ch9 '

About an hour after this statement - a refresh of the guide data for Melbourne - and nothing for Ch9.

My concern is also about stability, who knows when, later today, next week or next month... when the police come and raid, or everything is exhausted - suddenly ch9 data disapears without a warning...

Gee a Tivo is starting to look good again - even at $700 and available next month - at least no ongoing guide data subscriptions...

Gee, you wait a WHOLE hour for them to reconstruct their guides nationally before laying into them. My, you are generous!

You're aware, of course, that you can't skip over ads on a TiVO.
I'm afraid I have to agree with Impact here. It's not about giving them time to fix what they took away, it's about the fact that they chose not to notify anyone before pulling the plug on the data. You have to remember that plenty of people will have spent quite a bit of time trying to fix what they may have perceived as a MCE problem and potentially could have damaged other things. I certainly sympathise with Ice in their battle and they have my full support but it really does annoy me that they never seem to learn when it comes to keeping subscribers in the loop.

Thanks again Daniel. Lets hope such things NEVER occur again.

Thank you for your response Daniel. I trust you will be notifying all subscribers with the utmost urgency as to the seriousness of this situation.
Cheers,

Phil

Mitch,
I'm well aware that there are technical issues here but if you can't explain them then we can't be expected to know exactly what they are or how complex they are. The point was that you appear to be doing it one way in some places and differently in others. I would have thought it's reasonable to expect consistency in things like this. If it's not then I don't think it's too much to ask that people be given a simple explanation.

Hi all

I`m nearly at the end of my 30 day trial and am still undecided whether to take up a subscription or not.
My problem is that all my movies show a first aired date of 1/01/1900!!??

Is there a fix for this - does everyone else have this?

I`m using MCE2005

Cheers

J
Yep. That's what I see on all of mine too. As far as I know IceTV don't populate that field.

IceTV EPG Content / Re: Episode Titles
February 22, 2008, 10:31:56 AM
Yes while I tend to agree about the ABC content, the fact that they supply it does not of itself mean it will be in a format to support automated recording. In fact it may well be that this arrangement might be one way of actually circumventing that very process although I fail to see any particularly good reason for doing such a thing.

I cannot go stripping titles out of all programs. This will affect many users who don't use this forum. This is something that can only be done gradually. And IS being done gradually. As for the NASCAR 'issue', a date was never included in title anyway. It is still highly recommended to scan the Guides occassionally for all kinds of reasons. I don't think the technology ever promised that you'd never have to look at another Guide in your life again.
Seriously Mitch, did you really read what this thread is about. It has nothing to do with stripping out titles. You have got this year thing right in some places but wrong in others. Surely it's not that hard is it?
