Getting Help / Guide/Timers not updating.
April 15, 2024, 11:40:21 AM
Hi,

I have logged a ticket but thought I would try here as well.

Basically, the Guide is not updating, and neither are the IceTV set timers. I was away from last Friday, until yesterday when I noticed the issue. I noticed that a couple of programs that were due to be recorded tomorrow were not listed. I then had a look at the guide, and found a lot of 'No information found' in it.

So, did some digging, and found the following:

Guide1.jpg

Note the gap in info between Dr Phil and ET. This gap shows 'no information' in the IceBox guide. It seems to be affecting most (if not all channels) at some stage, and at random time slots.

Next, what is in the timers on IceTV web:

All the doughnuts are because I tried a 'resend all' yesterday.

And these are the timers that actually made it to the IceBox at some stage (all of Monday timers, none for Tuesday, and 2 of 8 for Wednesday):

I've tried just about everything I could find in the gui (which wasn't much). I have also tried multiple reboots and power off reboots.

I can't think of anything else to try other that a soft reset, unless someone has another suggestion.

General / Remote observation.
February 29, 2024, 01:34:07 PM
Hi,

I have had my IceBox since roughly mid-December.
Like others, I have endured of the 'multiple clicks' effect. Was a real pain when trying to skip over commercials when watching a recording and it suddenly whips to the end and exits the playback and you have to try and get back to where you were up to.

This morning, I tried to bring up the news and nothing happened - couldn't select anything, no movement on the screen.
I noticed that the little red light on the remote wasn't showing. So, straight to batteries in it, and replace with fresh ones. Back working again.

The interesting thing now is that I don't see the random extra clicks anymore. I have been randomly playing around with it at various times, and no sign of the issue.

So, for those having problems with the remote, try a fresh set of batteries. Time will tell how long they last, and whether the problem really has gone away completely, or at least only happens occasionally.

General / Various issues.
February 25, 2024, 08:47:31 PM
Hi,

Since my last post things have been working reasonably well with my IceBox. However, I have some issues.

First off, a couple of weeks ago I ran into a problem where the IceBox said I had to re-enter my wifi password. I tried that, and it wouldn't accept it. I did a reboot, and it asked me to re-enter my IceTV info & wifi info again. Still wouldn't accept them. After trying I a few other things, I ended up doing a soft reset with no luck. I then did a hard reset (i wasn't too fussed about the few recordings I had). That one came to nothing - no IceTV logo, and no initial setup. I powered it off again, and then powered on and I could at least get into the bios. I tried a few more times to get it to boot, but no luck. I then dug out my usb stick with the firmware and got it to reinstall everything from scratch. Looks like it must have been some sort of corruption of the software somehow.

Anyway, it seems to have been working fine since then (fingers crossed).

So the first issue I had today was that it again asked me for my wifi password. I have been away from home since last Thursday. When I got back today, the message was on the screen (I left IceBox on, and TV off for the duration). I re-entered it, but still wouldn't connect. Tried a few times. To eventually get it to work, I had to go into the LibreELEC settings and turn off the Wireless Networks 'Active' state, then turn it back on again. I then went the 'Connections' tab and told it to connect again. It asked again for my password, and it successfully connected. A bit strange, and not sure of what caused this.

The next issue I am not sure whether it is an IceBox or the IceTV EPG guide plugin.

I have quad tuners option. At the moment I see this is the 'My Week' section of the guide:

IceTV Err1.jpg

Not sure why it is having a problem with tuners as I have 4 of them:

IceTV Err2.jpg

As a test, I set up multiple recordings (2 IceTV ones, and 3 instant recordings) at the same time on different services (2 on ABC) and they worked fine:

IceTV Err3.jpg

Of course, when I added yet another one for Channel 7, that failed which I expected since that would make it 5 different services.

Any reason for this?

General / EPG duplication error...
January 04, 2024, 04:47:02 PM
Gradually getting used to my IceBox, but I found a weird error yesterday, that is still there today.

For channel 10SD, the EPG shows the programs of SBS (HD or SD):

EPG Error.jpg

When swapping between the two channels, they both show the actual programs they should, it is just the EPG that shows the incorrect information. Channel 10HD shows the correct EPG info.

Any suggestions? I am in Melbourne, if that makes any difference.

Hi,

Getting used to my new IceBox (which replaced my dying U4).

I am having issues with Timers not being set for some series recordings (don't know if it happens with one-off recordings).

A sample image is attached.

Not sure if it is a IceBox or IceTV guide problem. I did transfer all the recording timers from my U4 when setting up IceBox, so for this error I tried deleting the series recording and then putting it back. Waited for the IceBox to update, but still the same issue.

I have seen an occaision where the error came up (for National Nine News), but it seemed to clear itself in time for the recordings to occur. I don't think i ever saw this on the U4 (just timer errors when recording too much at the same time due to padding).

Getting Help / New IceBox - DOA?
December 10, 2023, 06:48:40 PM
Hi,

I'll log a support ticket tomorrow, but I thought I would post here to see if someone may be watching and has a 'quick fix'.

I received my new IceBox a couple of days ago and it is only starting up part of the way.

I connected all the hardware items first as per instructions and then started it up.

Looking promising to start with in that it came up with the IceTV logo. But that is far as it gets.

After a few seconds, the screen goes blank (i.e. black). Then, after another few seconds, the TV displays a 'No Signal' message. I have left it setting there for 10 minutes or so, but nothing.

TV is a Samsung UA65MU6100.

Things I have tried:

1. 3 different HDMI cables.
2. Tried a different HDMI port (although the one I had it on worked fine with my BW U4).
3. Numerous power cycles on IceBox as I made the changes, as well as TV 'hold the power button' reboots.

Any suggestions as to what else I can try?

Looks to me like it is failing to boot fully, but I can't see anything else I can try....

Also, in the email I notification I received when it was dispatched it was mentioned "The IceBox has been shipped with our latest software."

Hopefully,
Mike.

Beyonwiz / U4 EPG
February 02, 2018, 02:23:48 PM
Hi,

Have just set up my new U4 and still exploring all the options.

A couple of questions with using it with IceTV...

1. In the EPG, some channels are not showing any programs:
    ABC News
SBS ONE HD    (SBS ONE itself shows content)
    SBS Viceland HD
    SBS Viceland
    Food Network
    NITV
    C31
    7flix Melbourne

In my account, I have made sure that 'All' LCNs are selected (I had a chunk de-selected for my old Toppy to avoid the reboots). Do I have something wrong? Or is the problem elsewhere?

2. With my old toppy, I set up a timer to wake it up a couple of times a day to download any updated recording times that I set up or changed remotely. Does the U4 still need this, or does it keep it up to date whilst powered off (well, sleep mode)?

Cheers,

Mike.

I tried to subscribe last night a couple of times, and a couple of goes today, but each time I click 'Proceed to payment' (or whatever it says) I get the following:

Tried IE & Chrome, both came up with the same. Problems with the subscription processor? Have also sent details to the 'info' address suggested.
