Both my What's On This Week and iPhone app Recommended (ACT region) have movies listed that aren't on this week (Mon 3 Jun-Fri 7 Jun):

Listed for Monday next week:
The Secrets We Keep
- Actually in IceTV guide on Sat 8 Jun

Listed for Tuesday next week:
Maigret
The Third Murder
- Both are actually in IceTV guide on Sun 9 Jun

Listed for Tuesday next week:
Rabbit-Proof Fence
The Burnt Orange Heresy
- Neither is in the IceTV guide yet.

Why do movies and shows that aren't in the time span of the app (and now on What's On) keep showing up in the lists?

FYI...

All "Icons Unearthed" shows are listed on Vice TV as separate shows not seasons thereof:

https://www.vicetv.com/en_us/search?query=Icons%20Unearthed&q=Icons%20Unearthed

So in order we have:

Icons Unearthed:Star Wars
Icons Unearthed:The Simpsons
Icons Unearthed:Fast & Furious
Icons Unearthed:Marvel
Icons Unearthed:James Bond
Icons Unearthed:Batman
Icons Unearthed:Lord of the Rings

Going to Icons Unearthed:The Simpsons, for example:

https://www.vicetv.com/en_us/show/icons-unearthed-the-simpsons

We see under Episodes:

Icons Unearthed:The Simpsons S01E01 - The Origin
Icons Unearthed:The Simpsons S01E02 - The Pilot
etc, etc.

Having said all that, SBS; which often doesn't use the correct name/season/etc of a show in their EPG & elsewhere, has -  Icons Unearthed:James Bond available on SBSOD listed as Season 5:

https://www.sbs.com.au/ondemand/tv-series/icons-unearthed-james-bond

I guess it's up to IceTV as to how they record these shows are recorded in your database. IMHO, they should be recorded as separate shows as listed on the Vice TV website.

Finally, I was under the impression that earlier Icons Unearthed shows had been broadcast on SBS but I couldn't find any evidence. Must be confused with Foxtel, which has the 1st 5 shows are available there.

Great catch!

Looking at the comments I can't help feeling that Microsoft would provide some workaround that would allow this security requirement to be disabled for home users. SMB1 is still there as an option in Windows features! I've long felt that Windows security is overblown for the masses, but fully understand the need for it in work environments.

There is a discussion of this issue on Tom's Hardware: https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-components/nas/windows-11-24h2-may-block-connections-to-unsecured-third-party-nas-devices-microsoft-enables-smb-signing-for-enhanced-security?utm_term=ACFCD83E-EB1A-49D3-84B6-EC9D367F25D9&lrh=6df262bb3be864aee105ba333ed0aaf5c9139cdea047b3735dcffd4becd93c05&utm_campaign=2F4928DB-7559-479A-B06E-4801050D48B1&utm_medium=email&utm_content=6E4E1D98-6D35-4C8B-8E32-4F5A069B1254&utm_source=SmartBrief

Looks like SMB username/password is default. The default can be change to allow guest/anonymous login, but that does not apply to Windows 11 Pro/Enterprise. This change will apparently extend to NAS and storage attached to routers.

Getting Help / Re: Slow file transfer

The DSl 20m cable is actually longer than needed, the only one I had in cabling box.
I purchased it quite some years ago but found it wouldn't work in the set up I had then. No idea why.
I am no network/tech wizard, just try things out and if they work stick to it until it stops working.
Thanks for the advice on EOP. But with things now as I like I shall leave as is.

Quote from: NBOSTI on June 01, 2024, 06:56:51 PMI  had another look at my options. EOP I had looked into before and read similar about older wiring, so dismissed. Should add that my modem/router is getting on in years and not running the latest wifi.
Much prefer to be wired when possible.
I am FTTN, so have a modem / router connected to old phone port with a DSL cable. That port is in the kitchen.
Found a 20m DSL cable (low flat profile, so easy to hide) in a box so decided to try routing that, moving the modem to a more accessible location. Run ethernet to the most used devices.
Bingo. Mac and Icebox now fast transfer, under a minute as opposed to over an hour.
Sounds like a solution, but if you ever want to look at EOP again the major determinant of whether or not it would be successful is whether or not the two adapters are on the same electrical circuit. At 20M my guess is probably not, but it all depends on how your house is wired.
