Old Remote - Red light flashes

Hi
My remote (original) started playing up (multiple jumps with one button press) so I replaced the batteries. Now when I press any button the lower red light flashes 10+ times and the Icebox does not respond. I swapped the old batteries back and have the same issue. Tried a third set out of a known working remote and still the same issue.
Can anyone suggest a fix/cause for this.

Edit: Removed and replaced receiver dongle and this seems to have fixed the issue. I had previously tried a reboot but seems this does not reset the dongle after a battery change.

Now to see if my multi jump issue is any better.

You can try a reset by manually forcing the remote to re-connect to the IceBox by unplugging the dongle from the IceBox (while the IceBox is on) then holding both the "OK" and "Back" buttons on the remote control until the red light starts flashing regularly (it will be a little slower than when the buttons are held down, and will take around 5 seconds), you can then let go of the buttons and it will keep flashing at this rate and it will be in pairing mode. At this point plug the dongle in and shortly after that the flashing will stop once it connects.
 
Then try using the remote as normal.

If no luck we have much better upgraded ones called Remote 2 on our online store.

Thanks. I seem to have resolved all my issues by replacing the dongle but will try the extra steps if required. Will buy the Remote 2 at some stage, depending on my frustration levels.
