Wifi keeps dropping out

Hi there,

My Ice Box keeps dropping out from the wifi it is connected to. A reboot usually gets it going, but not always. If I try and enter the password manually it often refuses to work, even though the password is entered correctly.

Would a factory reset help here, and if so, does that delete existing recordings?

Any advice greatly appreciated

Hi Digger.

First question would be what type of wireless network are running? And what is the make and model of your WiFi router?

We have found that disabling and re-enabling the WiFi from the Libreelc settings (by just disabling WiFi, waiting 30 seconds and re-enabling it) also causes it to reconnect. We are working on an update to the IceBox to do this automatically to try and have an automated fix in place if this down happen.

Hi Daniel,

we are using a telstra 5G modem now, but the problem also affected our previous Foxtel DSL modem

Do you mean a 5G hotspot? or a Telstra NBN based modem and it's using the 5Ghz WiFi?

One other thing you can try as well. If you go into "Settings" and then "LibreELEC" and go down to "Network" on the side. On this page set the "Wireless Regulatory Domain" to "Australia (AU)".

Daniel,

It is a modem that uses the 5G network as a source not wired into the NBN

I will try what you suggest. Thanks

I tried both suggestions without luck. It then refused to connect at all, so I deleted the connection and reinstalled it. Still refuses to connect. The error messages are either Input/Output error or Invalid Key..
