When is the Widget getting updated?
« on: October 26, 2010, 08:26:09 PM »
The widget still shows 7HD and 9HD.  What is weird, that if I go into settings, the channel names are correct there, so you'd think it would be showing correctly on the widget as well.

IIRC, the "text" in the left-hand bar of the guide are in fact image files embedded in the widget package itself. It's not to hard to change them to be something else if you unpack and repack the widget (it's just a ZIP file) yourself. The text for service names everywhere else is actual text that is sent from the IceTV server. That's why the real text is correct, but the image "text" is wrong.

My guess is that the intention was that station logos could appear on the left-hand side, but that IceTV hasn't been able to get permission to use the station trademarks in that way. Given the acrimony between Nine and IceTV over copyright, that wouldn't surprise me.

Just giving this one a gentle bump.

IceTV, any idea when there might be a new Widget with the correct icons for the new HD services? I'm running 2.14 (25). I can't find anywhere on the "new look" Web page that tells me what the current version is any more, but when I download it, it's still 2.14 (25).

The Widgets Web page also mentions New Shows as though they're part of the widget, but they're not in the Yahoo Widget, as far as I can see.

And yet another gentle bump as well as a comment that "Eleven" is still listed as "One"

According to dippy/David from IceTV:
We are aware of 7HD and 9HD not being renamed on the widget. That requires an update to our widget software which was delayed because of the iPhone app and other issues. It's on our list and we should get to it in January.
