IceTV behind a Proxy
« on: November 16, 2007, 07:56:33 PM »
Hello Everyone,

Is it possible to run IceTV on a VMC system behind a proxy server that requires authentication.

I have ISA 2004 running on my own SBS 2003 server, so I'm not trying to do anything bodgy, like use it at work.

I've run the IceTV install program, but can't get past the point where you put your details into the configuration tab in the program.

ISA server see the connection atempt(s) and because its "anonymous" it kills it, which is what its supposed to do.

I don't want to go putting holes in the ISA server's firewall rules.

So there has to be a way to add proxy details and credentials to the IceTV program somewhere, at least I hope there is.....

Any help appreciated, Thanks

The IceTV Interactive program does not have proxy support built-in.

I believe there are programs out there that can do this kind of thing and sit in the background purely to add proxy credentials to outgoing traffic for programs.

The only other option would be run through the steps listed at http://www.icetv.com.au/iceforum/index.php?topic=148.0 to allow access to only the IceTV servers anonymously from only the internal network.
