Interactive for Windows 7 - when?
« on: September 30, 2009, 02:29:24 PM »
Given that the public release of Windows 7 is just weeks away, what is the current status of Windows 7 support for Ice Interactive. To date I've not seen any talk of a beta version for test, or indeed any timeline. Is IceTV actively working on a Window 7 version of Interactive?

I just installed Windows 7 pro yesterday, and the only thing stopping me from ditching vista and using it exclusively is the lack of interactive.

As far as i can tell, their currently working on the Win7 IceTV EPG beta and getting the bugs worked out for that. (i mean, whats the point of interactive if the EPG is screwed?)

As for news on interactive i haven't heard if they have even begun to look at it. But they must be working on it a little at least. As soon as Windows 7 is released publicly, then they will really start feeling the pressure to get it done.

Even though there seems to be a general lack of updates or reply's on topics regarding Win7 interactive from support staff, I'm sure their working on it. Maybe.......

Short answer is 'yes'. We are definitely working on an IceTV Interactive for Windows 7, we would like to have a final release available in time for the General Availability of Windows 7 (but have no firm release date as yet).

Well I think that puts Win7 users minds at ease ever so slightly. Thanks for the reply, and don't forget to keep us users posted, we like to feel involved in the process you see :P

Same for me.

The only thing stopping me from ditching vista and using Windows 7 exclusively is the lack of Interactive.

Apparently a beta trial of Interactive for Win7 will be available next week.
