We have a new Dashboard Widget for Macintosh and EyeTV that is ready for beta test.  Email me if you'd like to take part.

Peter & Team,

How do I integrate this into EyeTV? I have enabled EyeTV in the "i" options of the widget, but I get no guide in EyeTV, nor can I select programs to record from the widget.

Can you let me know what to do?

Oh - I am also not getting any information on the HD channels.

Thanks,
Shane.

Hi Guys,
Im one of the authors of the IceTV Widget.I handle all of the coding side of things.

Shane-
Once you enable EyeTV support on the back of the widget you should see some extra buttons on the base of the front.
To add recordings to your eyetv via the widget you click on a program title and it opens the description window. When eyetv support is enabled there should be an "Add to EyeTV" button on the description window.

I probably should get one of the guys from Ice to comment on the HD channels. From what i can tell they are not fully implimented yet.

iSlayer,

Thanks for this - thought I recognised the great handiwork from the WorldTV (formerly AusTV) Widget.

I have enabled the EyeTV support, and the EyeTV Recorded and EyeTV Scheduled do show at the bottom, but when I click on a program and get the description, the only button I have is "OK".

I am viewing it set on the "5" view setting, but have tried the other views too. I am running EyeTV software 1.8.3.

Oh - in the "i" settings there is a "Select Channel" next to each channel, but when I click on it it says "no channels". Does this have anything to do with it?

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Shane.

A few things...
Is you EyeTV app Called EyeTV.app and located in your applications folder ?
Does the Application open at any time when you launch the IceTV Widget ?

The problem seems to be that the widget is not finding your eyetv app or possibly there is just a code bug in the on/off pref for eyetv support(i dont think this is the issue)

I just tested it again myself by deleting my prefs file and starting from scratch.it worked prefectly and i was able to add recordings and select channels on the back

Thanks

OK - got it working. What I had to do was close the widget (ie remove it from the dashboard) then drag it back on again. It then found EyeTV without problems and everything seems to be working.

I did have one issue - I couldn't for some reason schedule the Simpsons to record tonight even though I click on add to EyeTV. No matter what it wouldn't say it had set it to record, but choosing Neighbours (show following - nothing I want to record though) it added to EyeTV fine.

I'll keep playing with it and let you know, but it looks great overall!

Regards,
Shane.

Fantastic.

Just wondering - is there a way to allow a channel change from the widget too? ie click on the program and if it is the current playing one, give you the option to watch it?

Thanks,
Shane.

In the final version the channel logo's were going to be links to change channels.

Thanks for the tip Shane.  However this has not worked for me.  When I readded to dashboard the existing channels appeared, however the 'i' does not work when clicking on for settings.

cheers

Thanks guys. It seems to have sorted after removing and re-adding again (twice). And I had also shut down EyeTV in between

Versions - EyeTV1.8.3, OSX 10.4.3
With EyeTV410
