TF7100 IceTV Connection Fails

Don't know if I'm missing anything obvious here!

I have network and internet connectivity - network is Wired / DHCP and works fine - I can ping IPs and Names.

Go to IceTV and it simply fails!

I have checked the user/pass; removed and re-added; tried static IPs; removed profiles and re-added them; checked time settings; upgraded to latest firmware (20090112 from 20081029); reset to factory; rescanned channels; reset everything; still same result.

I note that it takes a long time to enter the EPG settings profile on the menu and also when I view/edit/save a setting - I assume it is attempting to update and eventually times out.

I don't see my device token -although that is setup correctly - I assume it needs correct connectivity to grab that.

It worked up until Jan 14, now has just stopped.  My account is still active.

What does the Topfield attempt to ping or test when connecting to IceTV?  I would like to enter that in the network test ping.

Any thoughts would be appreciated

Have you entered a value in for your first dns under the network settings?
This is generally the same as your gateway which is basically your ADSL router's ip address.

This would certainly explain why you have local access but not access to IceTV.

Thanks for the reply - forgot I posted in here actually.

I have (sort of) resolved the issue and taken it up with Topfield.  I setup and went to a Wireless Network and all worked fine.  I can replicate the issue - IceTV and FTP won't work under wired network on my machine.

I did check the DNS btw.  I am a network administrator so knew to test the network ping for external name and IP address which all came back fine.

Some 6 months down the track for some reason I still can't get ICETV to work. I seem to have the network set up OK I think...I have the little computer and the tick next to the profile:

Numbers are IP: 192.168.0.167/Submask: 255.255.255.0 Def:192.168.0.1/1stDNS:10.1.1.1/2nd DNS 192.168.0.1..... when I press the SAT button to do a ping test from the toppy it simply opens the keyboard panel and nothing happens. I can ping the toppy from the computer and it sends and receives 4 packets OK. I didn't touch the FTP ( don't know what that's for). I have a subscription with Ice TV and have set it up on the IceTV site.... when I set it up with ID/Password on the toppy it doesn't download any device and just stays on none and of course the epg test fails.....

Any ideas?
ps I have the latest firmware installed and done a complete factory reset...

That's because there is what looks like an obvious error with your first DNS and 2nd DNS!

Where does the 10.1.1.1 come from if all your ip addresses and gateway are 192.168.0.___???

Set it up with these numbers and see how you go (assuming your routers ip address is 192.168.0.1)
Static IP 192.168.0.168
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0 (This should automatically be detected)
Gateway 192.168.0.1
1st DNS 192.168.0.1
2nd DNS no need to enter anything here as far as I'm aware.
