Nice present from IceTV
« on: August 15, 2015, 02:15:06 PM »
Tucked away in the IceTV "Half the price, double the fun" promo email is: "Now control up to 10 TV recorders with your IceTV subscription".

This seems to apply to everyone, not just new subscriptions  :)

Thanks, Ice!

I'd say it certainly does as when I look at my previous purchases My Orders listing under My Account it shows me having purchased "1-Year IceTV Subscription (for up to 10 devices) (IG12)" for all my previous purchases

Yes, it is a nice surprise. I gather they have been working on a solution for those who already had 5 devices and had pre-ordered a Skippa.

Stange thing is that all of my old orders have been updated to 10 devices (going back many years) but my more recent 4 year subscriptions has not! :o

That is odd. The same for me.

It may not actually mean anything.

Dave?

Dave?

All existing and future regular subscriptions are able to have up to 10 recording devices now.

As for not getting yesterday's email; Looking at both csutak40's and prl's accounts they don't show that yesterday's email has been sent. Both accounts do show that last Monday's email was sent at 12:31AM on 8/07/15, and last Friday's email was sent 2:01AM 8/10/15 (but then csutak40 hasn't opened those 2 emails yet).

Ummmm.... I don't know about your records, but I got the email ("Half the price, double the fun"). The email was the reason I started the topic.  ???

Oops my bad!  :-[

I just searched Thunderbird and found them (and lots others besides) in the "News" folder.  I double checked the filter and still have no idea why these posts ended up in that folder.   >:(

I've been rather busy lately and hadn't looked in that folder for a while

Dave,

In regards to this email with the increase to 10 recording devices why are there two houses depicted?
Are we able to use our IceTV accounts on pvr's at two different houses now?

Pending a response from IceTV, I always assumed the person (not the house) owns the subscription. If the subscriber is on holiday or lives between 2 residences, he/she is still entitled to use the product.

I've certainly used IceTV away from home. When we were having renovations done, we spent a couple of months in various short-term furnished rents and house-sits. I used daily updates via mobile Internet to keep our recording schedule going.

Vortical,

Up to 10 houses are covered as long as they are in the same Freeview region.

If you had houses in 2 different Freeview regions, that each required a different region be set in the IceTV account, you would need an account for each region.

Very interesting, there is just one problem though if I wanted to record the same series recording on multiple pvr's it's not possible, is that going to change?

I don't understand that issue? - I record the same programme on multiple IceTV enabled devices regularly
What error do you encounter when trying to set up recording of the same show on multiple devices?
