Ice Interactive formatting broken on XP w/ Firefox & IE
« on: August 10, 2009, 01:41:09 PM »
Running XP & Firefox 3.5.2.

The table of the "guide info" and of "upcoming shows" all appear below the banners on the left (ie below the "auto-renew and save...." banner). Seems the html formatting is broken. This means I've got to scroll right down just to see the information I want.

Interesting - exactly what's happening on the PS3 browser:

All is fine on Firefox (3.5.2) for me under Windows 7, though.

Firefox and XP here and I don't see this issue?   Version 3.0.12 Firefox (which I thought was the latest given I tell it to let me know if there is an update.. but took a great deal of time getting 3.5 into an Ubunto distro I also run here on a different machine?)
I do have the "enable Javascript" option enabled, I could imagine if that wasn't ticked various pages would look screwy.

I'm using XP and FF 3.5.2 and the interactive screens all look OK to me. But I am confused because none of the screens that I can find have the banners referred to - "auto-renew and save" so it seems that I am looking in a different place.

FF broke into 2 streams a while ago - each of which is being supported with updates separately. If you are in the 3.0.x stream you only get 3.0.x updates and similarly the 3.5.x stream only get relevant updates. 3.0.x is only being supported until Jan 2010 and change to 3.5 is recommended. I don't ever recall being advised of this by Mozilla though, and until a couple of months ago I thought that the 3.0.x updates that I was regularly receiving were making sure that I was on the latest version.

Problem is still there. Whether I use Internet Explorer or Firefox, both the "TV Guide" and the "My Upcoming Shows" screen formats are broken. The other screens are OK. Broken means the table with the actual information appears below the left hand panel of options instead of beside it.

Argghhhhh.  I can't believe I'm the only person sufffering from this problem.

I'd like to take credit for it ;) but actually we didn't change anything.  My only guess is that it was some kind of caching problem where it was using formatting from before the big release, although I can't explain why it was happening in two browsers.  Unless maybe you have a web proxy of some kind that was caching something.
