IceTV EPG Content / Re: Repeats and double ups
« on: February 09, 2021, 05:53:36 PM »
Peter, checked my region settings and it is correct; ABVTV HD is enabled, but ABC TV (SD) is not enabled. I have deleted SD services for which there is a corresponding SD service both in IceTV settings and on the Toppys.

The Toppys use an old IcedTV EPG API, not the one used by the Beyonwiz T, U and V series.
The way Toppys (other than the 5300) works is that (as I understand it) only time informtion (not the program details) is sent to the Toppy. The Toppy then picks up the program information from the EPG when the program records. This can result in no program information for reordings if the EPG is blank for one reason or another. Timer information and EPG data are sent separately to the Toppy. After the initial download of timers and EPG the EPG and Timer informaiton are downloaded at 30 minute intervals, with a 15 minute offset between the EPG and Timer downloads.

Hi Peter, error message is (at least for one instance):
"There was an error scheduling this show to device 7100+ 1.TASK_MSG_INVALID_SERVICE."
That would be consistent with the emails advising problem with the timers.

Would I be correct in assuming that the timer was downloaded before the relevant EPG data had been downloaded? Something I suspect happens regularly with my Toppys.

have an example of double-up on both my 7100+ for Jack Irish on 12 February. No double-up on the U4. In each case all have the same commencement time - did not check the run time.

This could be a different issue as only one is shown as scheduled; others have a problem.

Since the current season of The Last Leg started, the episode on ABCTV HD on Wednesday nights has not been flagged as a repeat; the program already transmitted on ABC TV Plus/Kids the previous night. Same for the coming week.

Adam Hills: The Last Leg, 'Sara Pascoe and Phil Wang', ABC TV Plus/Kids, 8:49pm, Tue, 2 Feb 2021, 42 minutes

BazzaG, I just checked my records and I have definitely not seen season 9; dyslexia strikes again, or was is just another seniors moment.

All of season 9 has previously been transimitted on ABC. Not marked as a repeat in Melbourne.

Beyonwiz / Re: WizV2 Auto timer will not update but EPG does
« on: January 23, 2021, 08:12:34 PM »
I agree with MD that using AutoTimers when also using IceTV is not a good idea. Just use IceTV; if you want to do a one off recording directly on the V2 that is OK, just make sure that you do not end up with auto timer instead.

I speak from experience with this one.

Judy you were not the only one who had this happen; had a similar thing happen on Wedensday or Thursday; in that case both were in the EPG as well as having timers. Very odd, but I saw it long before the recordings were scheduled to record. Same thing on both the Toppy 2400 and the T2 and U4.

MD, thanks for the detailed explanation of the task being undertaken.

From the many posts I get the impression that most users understand what is going on and are trying to assist rather than throw a hissy-fit.

Best wishes to you and all the team for your efforts.

Yes, I think you are correct about the Silent Witness episode being a repeat.

For Melbourne, Victoria, there is a large number of programs for which generic information only is provided - no season number and episode nuber, or eopisode names.

Ones that I have noticed are below:
Great British Railway Journeys, SBS HD, 3:00pm, Fri, 22 Jan 2021, 30 minutes
Who Do You Think You Are? Australia, SBS HD, 3:30pm, Fri, 22 Jan 2021, 60 minutes
Who Do You Think You Are? Australia, SBS HD, 8:30pm, Fri, 22 Jan 2021, 70 minutes
Who Do You Think You Are? Australia, SBS HD, 3:25pm, Mon, 25 Jan 2021, 60 minutes
Who Do You Think You Are? Australia, SBS HD, 3:20pm, Tue, 26 Jan 2021, 60 minutes
Who Do You Think You Are? Australia, SBS HD, 3:25pm, Wed, 27 Jan 2021, 65 minutes
Bull, 10 HD, 9:30pm, Wed, 27 Jan 2021, 60 minutes
Silent Witness, 9Gem HD, 10:50pm, Wed, 27 Jan 2021, 80 minutes
NCIS, 10 Bold, 8:30pm, Mon, 25 Jan 2021, 55 minutes
NCIS, 10 Bold, 9:25pm, Mon, 25 Jan 2021, 55 minutes
Diagnosis Murder, 10 Bold, 3:30pm, Wed, 27 Jan 2021, 60 minutes

There is also multiple episodes of Escape to the Country and Bargain Hunt with just generic information.

Thanks Peter for that information. In the What's On This Weekend email it says it is season 3, so definitely repeats. In the IceTV guid the episode on Sunday night is classed as a repeat.
