Beyonwiz / Re: Cannot login from T3

For an Existing IceTV User the region_id missing error usually means the email address you are trying to login with is not in the ictev database.

It sounds like you may be trying to login on the T3 with a Member ID instead of your email address (the email address that is in your IceTV account).

SKIPPA / Re: Copy recordings between Skippas
« on: April 16, 2017, 11:35:55 PM »
I am certain that when you can copy them onto the new Skippa they will end up in 'Media > Local > Recordings". And you lose the thumbnail images and extended info (episode descriptions) but all other info is retained (resume point, played status, parental ratings, title, date, channel).

You could leave the recordings on a USB and play them from there (in 'Media > Local > USB"). You get the exact same information as if they were in 'Media > Local > Recordings".

If the old Skippa's hard drive is okay you could just swap the hard drives. Much quicker than copying large files from Skippa A to USB drive and then from USB drive to Skippa B.

I have identified a problem with the IceTV system...
Hi vader1111

I believe Dan can see what caused this and will look into preventing it from happening.

As MrQuade said on the Beyonwiz forum, I think you mean "necromancy" ;)

Hi D (ragracing)

I checked your IceTV account when you started this thread and the Friday, Saturday and Sunday's broadcasts of the Australian Formula One Grand Prix were all scheduled in your account and downloaded by your Loungeroom Media Center. So to me it does not look like the problem was from this end. Maybe your Media Center PC did not have enough HDD space to save those 8 and 8.5 hour HD recordings (not including padding).

Unless you are Ferrari or Vettel fan you didn't miss much. Even then it was a boring weekend and a boring processional race (which is probably why Ten didn't show highlights of the race in Sydney).

SKIPPA / Re: Skippa for Sale

If you don't get any offers right away don't throw the Skippa out. Someone will want or need it eventually.

SKIPPA / Re: Skippa DLS change happening at 2:00pm, not 2:00am

To adjust the clock yourself, without waiting for the Skippa to adjust its clock at 3pm go to 'Menu > Settings > IceTV' and select "Reset EPG". The Skippa will then reboot and adjust its clock.

Any of your shows that recorded today between 3am and 3pm (or until you reset the EPG) will have recorded the correct show, but the displayed start time may be 1 hour out.

Are you saying the toppy old likes Home And Away?  ;D

It looks like renewing the subscription re-activated the suspended account itself (because it is active again).

I live overseas for half the year and used to be able to suspend account then reactivate by Skype to IceTV's phone etc. As I use Skype so IceTV cannot call me. Is there a discount for purchasing say a 3 year subscription as before? Thanks.
Hi H,

Are you saying your Skype setup is unable to receive incoming calls? We have your home phone number (if it still works).

You can email support via to request that your account be suspended, then email us when you return to have it re-activated. I have suspended your account now (let me know if you aren't going OS just yet and I'll turn it back on).

Hi dddp,

Over the last decade I have replaced HDDs in my DP series Beyonwiz PVRs a number of times. I have often kept each old HDD with the intention of plugging them into a USB HDD dock and plugging the dock into a Beyonwiz to access whatever is still playable from the Beyonwiz. A couple I kept "untouched" with the intention of connecting them to a Linux computer to try to recover or repair the damaged or corrupt recordings. After many years they have never been connected to anything except for maybe a cursory inspection before giving up. A month after removing each drive I had completely forgotten them. All of the SATA drives were recently tested for bad sectors and thrown out during a spring clean. The IDE drives were also thrown out.

After a decade of replacing HDDs and keeping the old drive with the intention of plugging them into a USB HDD dock and plugging the dock into a Beyonwiz to access whatever is still playable from the Beyonwiz... and never doing anything about it I now just forget about whatever is on the old hard drive and get on with recording new shows. The only downside is that initial wishing you could remember exactly what shows you had lost.

These days I don't upload or keep anything on my PVRs' HDDs unless I have a copy of it somewhere else. And any TV shows that I want to keep (and cannot buy a copy of) I back up to a computer or NAS server (and convert them to a different format).

Maybe somewhat OT for IceTV but a third series of Dicte is now available on SBS On Demand. I haven't spotted it having been broadcast yet, or foreshadowed to broadcast.

Dicte, or "Dicte - Crime Reporter" or even just "Crime Reporter" was not found in our database. Interesting that Dicte is now available on SBS On Demand but it appears to have never been on TV in Australia, yet. Maybe SBS want to see how popular it is on SBS On Demand before considering whether to air it on TV.

Humax / Re: HDR-7500T overheating
« on: March 15, 2017, 02:50:59 PM »
Hi littlebird,

The 2tune can play the recordings from a 7500.

You can copy the 7500's recordings to an NTFS or Ext3 formatted USB drive (hard drive or thumb drive etc). The Humax can format the external USB drive in NTFS for you (note: this will delete everything currently on the USB drive).

Or you can copy them to a computer using an FTP program.

When you copy the 7500's recordings off the USB drive onto the 2tune's internal drive they end up the 2tune's Media folder. Or if you copy them via an FTP program from the computer to the 2tune's internal drive you must copy them into the "Media/Video" folder.

To play them on the 2tune you then go to "Home > Media", make sure it is on Video then select Internal.

Personally I'd probably leave the 7500's recordings on the USB drive or on the computer (in a shared folder that the 2tune can access).

Humax / Re: Padding not being added
« on: March 14, 2017, 04:24:47 PM »
Anyone with a HDR3000T and PADDING problems or cannot view episodes in the correct order, please see my other post here. The answers are there for you. It is now up to ICE TV to fix this problem. It is NOT a Humax problem.

IceTV sets the schedules for the start times and end times listed in the guide. The PVR then adds the padding. IceTV does not control the padding.

If the guide lists the show as starting at 10pm and ending at 11pm and the PVR later records that show from 10pm to 11pm without any padding then the PVR didn't add the padding. This could be because there were too many other recordings scheduled and the PVR needed to stop recording A on time (without padding) to start recording C or D.

Hi Greg,

We have been able to see evidence of the recordings incorrectly displayed on the HDR3000T and are looking into the cause of it and a solution to fix it ASAP.

But I'm still not sure why only your HDR3000T seems to not be adding the padding. When you change the padding settings on a HDR3000T that new padding setting will only be added to schedules created after you changed the padding. When you change the EPG Type the PVR deletes all existing schedules so any new padding settings would be applied immediately. That doesn't make it a bug that only occurs when using xyz EPG type - it just means you have newly created all of your schedules and therefore the changed padding amount was applied right away.
