IceTV EPG Content / Duplicate Timers, Duplicate EPG ...

Checking my timers for tonight earlier & noticed that there were 2 timers for "Adam Hills: Take His Legs (2020)".

Hmm! What?

Sure enough there are 2 entries in the IceTV EPG ... see pic.

Deleted 1 of the timers.

Hi Gai,

It should never have been added to IceTV in the manner that it has been.

You could take advantage of the 2 week hiatus to fix the issue, by sending a email indicating that as of 24th the show name will be updated and a new series recording will need to be added.

Another recent example, was "Mystery Road - The Series". While I'm aware there is a movie of the same name; on which the series is based, the ABC never called either season 1 or 2 by that name.

The whole point of IceTV is to provide a curated and accurate EPG.

Having said that, I'm also aware that some Aussie TV networks sometimes change the name of the show; with SBS the biggest offender, and in this case, then IceTV has no choice but to do the same.

Planet America is currently on a 2 week sabbatical. However, Planet America is still listed in the IceTV schedule for Friday night. Both shows return on the 22nd & 24th, respectively.

Also, the Friday night show is actually called "Planet America's Fireside Chat" and has its own iView webpage:

Whereas, "Planet America" iView webpage is:

Both are listed as separate, distinct shows on both iView and in the ABC TV guide and IMHO, they should also be listed as separate, distinct shows on IceTV as well.

Please fix both issues.

8 part BBC Thriller called MotherFatherSon.

Thanks Muchly.  Regarding MFS, all 8 episodes are already on iView until 7am 31/July/2020. I presume that it will broadcast sometime after that.

3 part documentary series Shaun Micallef’s On The Sauce, which looks at Australia’s drinking culture, premieres Tuesday 21 July at 8:30pm on ABC.

Extra info here:

Oops, I'm wrong about my current timers. Found another 1:

Baptiste ... ABC HD, 8:30pm, Fri, 3 Jul 2020, 60 minutes
This show recorded successfully on device Beyonwiz U4. This show is part of a series recording.

and sure enough there is NO timer set on my U4.

I have no idea if this timer was or wasn't set correctly last Saturday.

All the other timers listed on IceTV website under "My Week" are listed as, either:

This show is scheduled to record on device Beyonwiz U4. This show is part of a series recording.

This show is waiting to be set by device Beyonwiz U4. This show is part of a series recording.

PS. I have NOT tried manually adding a timer or anything else for this show yet.

A log is kept in every timer. Go to the timer list (TIMER from live TV), select the timer and press the INFO button on the remote.

Thanks, I didn't know this. However, the issue here is that there was NO timer on my U4 for the show.

The log shown in the attached screen shot is for the timer that I manually added via OpenWebif 3 mins before Grand Designs was due to broadcast.

As of this post all my timers appear to be OK, however, none of the timers for next Sunday have been added to my U4 itself but they are listed on IceTV website under "My Week".

Logging isn't enabled as far as I'm aware and even if it was, I would have to run & keep the log data over an extended period of time since I have no idea when the problem is triggered, etc.

I'm also not convinced that this is a Beyonwiz problem since others have reported this issue who are not using a Beyonwiz PVR. Having said that, the log data might still give an indication of the cause.

It appears that I getting this issue about once every 2 to 3 weeks ... that's a long time to keep logging data.

Perhaps I've already done so by updating via USB to: beyonwiz 19.3.20200328 (19.3-299-gfbf36d4), just 2 or 3 weeks ago. The problem has occurred either side of the FW update.

If that doesn't count as a re-install, then I have no idea of how to do so.

Yet another occurrence of this problem earlier tonight, which I noticed just minutes before broadcast.

This time for Grand Designs, same as before:

"This show recorded successfully on device Beyonwiz U4. This show is part of a series recording."

Same as this thread:

Given that there are other threads that have reported the same problem that have nothing to do with Beyonwiz, this appears to be a IceTV issue of some sort.

Can someone please kindly fix whatever is the problem.

OK, this is getting annoying. Just checked my U4 timers for tonight and there's NO timer set for "Grand Designs" @7:40 on the ABC.

Same error as last time:

Recording Options
This show recorded successfully on device Beyonwiz U4. This show is part of a series recording.

I manually set a timer via OpenWebif.

I also see that the same error has been reported in this thread:

Although, that was via WMC.

It seems to me that there is some sort of issue with IceTV that needs to be identified and fixed.
