Hi. Hope this post is appropriate here. Anyone want to buy my Skippa? It's working perfectly, skips ads fine, and I love it. But my wife can't handle the four-line TV Guide and wants to go back to the Sage box (that shows all our favourite channels on one screen).

Has been updated to latest (current) firmware.

Best offer gets it. PM or mobile Oh4 Oh3 169 117

I'm about an hour north of Newcastle but happy to post at buyers expense.

Of course I'll continue as a satisfied IceTV customer for my Sage server.

Hi Dave, yes, already on the latest firmware. All else is working fine, just the issue with series not recording or not coming through to the Skippa as ST's.

Thanks for the words of wisdom bodogbodog - I know I'm lucky. And I've gotta say the Skippa is a little beauty (now that's jinxed it!). Just this little niggly inconsistency with series recordings.

So guys, no idea why I get an 'expired' message before the show has even gone to air??

SKIPPA / Failed Recordings - what does 'Expired' mean?

Hi all. Some of my series timer shows are appearing in Failed Recordings before they are even aired. The shows have the word 'Expired' next to them in the Failed Recordings screen. Any ideas why this is occurring?

All my shows have been set up the same way. For each, I have used the IceTV app, and set them to record on my Skippa. They then appear in the My Week screen okay, but then some of them fail to record.

Also, even though they have all been set up the same way using the app, not all of them shows as 'ST' on my Skippa.

Got me puzzled. Appreciate any help because I really want to keep going with my Skippa as I was one of the lucky ones to (1) actually receive a Skippa, and (2) get one that worked!

Poor Dave. I had the same thought myself but was trying to hold off for as long as I can, hoping that someone would get back to me.

But I'm real close to sending a PM to Dave. As they say, "if you want something done, ask a busy man" (oops, should that be "person" in this politically-correct age).

Well, I'm getting frustrated too. I have a Skippa and I've subscribed to the 'new' IceTV, but now all the My Series data has gone (all my series recording data is missing from my IceTV account) so My Week recording list is virtually empty.

Sent a request for help to Support and got a quick robot response, then absolute silence! Can't be anything I've done because it was working fine before I re-subscribed, so one would presume it is at Ice's end.

Yes, I've tried updating my Skippa from both the unit and from my Ice account but no luck.

Hopefully someone from Support might be checking this forum and fix it up.

Just visited the 'new' IceTV website and checked for compatible PVR devices. Lo and behold, no Skippa! But wait, no Altech either??

Why aren't these compatible devices listed in the 'Compatible' area? If I want to sell my Skippa and advertise it as fully IceTV Compatible, prospective buyers could well call me a liar!

What's going on?

Well said Mark - my sentiments exactly.

"Its about making those that lost out, feel at least a teny tiny bit valued, in an effort to keep them as a customer. Even friggin $1 or $2 off a month for the duration of your existing subscription as a token gesture would show that they actually have some understanding of how people are feeling. Nobody really is going to care so much about the discount itself, but its just the fact that its been offered, it would go a LONG way to retaining people."

My 'old' IceTV subs went well into 2020 but, to me, it's the principle of the thing. And I hate being lied to and misled about the whole thing. A small discount would at least make me think that the present IceTV people (and, let's face it, they are largely the 'old' IceTV people) care about loyalty etc.

I'm bauking at the $7.99 because of those principles. For me, life without IceTV would be more difficult but not impossible!

Gotta say that since uploading the latest firmware, the Adskip on my Skippa has been working brilliantly. In fact the whole unit is humming along nicely.

If only we could work out a way to change that damn onscreen TV Guide layout to show more channels and less 'header' info, I'd be a happy chappy!

Ditto - received the full $417 from PayPal using Warkus's guidelines (thanks Mark).

This will help offset my lost IceTV subs (to 2020).

Gotta give a big wrap to PayPal - very efficient and so nice to see the money credited to my PayPal account.

As far as extra support goes, I think Dave from IceTV mentioned that a lot of the staff (previous staff?) had Skippas so I would assume they would be keen to contribute to keeping the Skippa dream alive.

I've responded YES - lets hope it can be realised
For those vowing never to deal with the ex ICETV management - I suspect some of them will be involved in the new entity - so be prepared to have to accept that or not utilise the new EPG and make alternate arrangements

As an aside I have loved the Skippa ad skipping function (when it works) - its been great to have - but not sure how long that's going to be available for

If any of the previous management are involved in a new "IceTV" company, I'll walk away, throw my Skippa in the bin, and buy something totally unrelated (probably a Beyonwiz or such running on the std EPG). I can't stand being lied to or being led along for a ride!

I'm a 'yes' (losing 4+years subs to 2019 and my "lifetime" Skippa sub in the meantime) but only on the no-previous-management proviso that others have raised. Happy to have the "workers" from the old IceTV roll over to a new company but certainly none of the hierarchy. That's a given!
