IceTV EPG Content / What's On This Week
« on: November 04, 2019, 04:32:19 PM »
I haven't seen my What's On This Week's regular email today (4 November). I can understand if none was mailed out, but I have no idea if that was the case or not. Perhaps this has been suggested before, but a link somewhere on the IceTV web pages, or in the forum, would be handy so subscribers could access the recommendations if for some reason the email did not reach them.

Smart Recording on iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad / Recommendations
« on: October 26, 2019, 09:28:33 AM »
In the relatively short time that I have been looking at the IceTV iPhone app I have only ever seen one recommendation per day. I was under the impression, perhaps erroneously, that with the Android app, the recommendations reflected what had been distributed on the most recent "what's on" emails.

What should I expect to see, and is there some way to tweak the iPhone app to show more than one recommendation for each day?

IceTV EPG Content / Tony Robinson All at Sea (again)
« on: August 22, 2019, 10:35:14 AM »
The latest episode of one of Tony Robinson's "walks" is scheduled as one of a series of Tony Robinson's Coast to Coast, but turns out to be "Walking the Thames" the first in a series "The Thames: Britain's Great River with Tony Robinson" according to IMDB, and looks to have been first screened by Channel 5 as recently as June this year.

I'm not suggesting a name change for the series by IceTV because it is in the OTA EPG as Tony Robinson's Coast to Coast, and changing it mid-stream as it were would be confusing for folk who, like me, use both IceTV and OTA EPGs for scheduling recordings. I just note it here for accuracy.

According to IMDB and the Channel 5 website "The Thames: Britain's Great River with Tony Robinson" has four episodes. Having seen the first I would like to see the other three screened by SBS, but knowing the potential for confusion in that neck of the woods it is also possible that they screened the wrong program last night. I think it less likely, as acquisition and screening of such a recent program would in all likelihood not have been a mistake. Fingers crossed.

SBS has scheduled another three episodes of An Ordinary Woman overnight on 25-26 June. The second and third of these episodes (Episode 5 and Episode 6) are showing up in My Week as scheduled recordings of this series (as a New Show), but not the first of the three, Series 1, Episode 4, scheduled to start 10.40 pm on 25 June.

Episode 4 does not appear to be flagged as a repeat, and looking at the recording options doesn't appear to be associated as part of the "An Ordinary Woman" series. I suspect it may be for the latter reason it is not being scheduled to record.

IceTV EPG Content / Agatha Christie's Criminal Games
« on: November 12, 2018, 05:27:43 PM »
Fans of this series may be pleased to hear that SBS on Demand has posted another six episodes. I'm pretty sure that the first six were screened earlier this year after first appearing on SBS on Demand, so keyword favourites or recordings may pick up this next six some time.

TV Tonight could be interpreted as somewhat misleading when they report "Les petits meurtres d’Agatha Christie originally aired in 2009 but continues in 2018". The first series goes back to then, but the SBS offerings (both the first six, and now this six) look to come from series 2, 2014-2015 vintage, so not so far back.

First time I have seen that error in a T2 log, but maybe I haven't been paying attention. The error has popped up repeatedly for about four hours today, which seems a little long for a temporary IceTV server outage.

I have checked the internet connection and all looks good there. Also tried a reboot, but the error persists.

I did a location scan yesterday for the newly branded channels BOSS and PEACH, if that has any bearing on the issue.

Anyone with suggestions as to how to fix this?

Beyonwiz / T2 Timer Issue post Daylight Saving
« on: October 08, 2018, 02:51:06 PM »
I had the same issues as others with the Daylight Saving changeover, notably timers in My Week that I had not set and which had apparently been passed to the PVR because they were closed red circles, but had not been transferred and did not appear in the T2 timer list. No big problem. I deleted the rogue timers in My Week, and no more appeared.

Today I needed to set a timer for a new show. To save time I went into Coming Soon and set a favourite against the show, and a timer for a new series. I thought that this would transfer automatically to My Week, but only the favourite transferred - not the timer.

I then set a timer manually in My Week. However, after two or three hours this timer has not transferred to the PVR. In the meantime, I have rebooted the T2 in case there was a problem at my end.

I could initiate a manual fetch from the T2, but then I would have no confidence that other timers were being automatically updated in the PVR.

Has anyone else experienced similar issues? Is the server feeding the T series of BW PVRs working as it should?

IceTV EPG Content / Tony Robinson Down Under
« on: October 01, 2018, 10:43:16 AM »
Scheduled for Thursday 4 October on SBS at 7.30 pm, it appears that Sir Tony is still very much up top. The FTA EPG has the program title as Tony Robinson's Hidden Britain By Drone, and the program description in the IceTV Web pages would seem to accord with this.

Beyonwiz / No Repeat Flags on T2
« on: June 08, 2018, 01:22:55 AM »
I looked through the thread "No repeat flags on T3" and decided that while it was more than two years old that I had better start a new one.

I have tried adding a Custom repeat flag for a T2, both at the Beginning and at the End of the title. I have waited reasonably patiently to see if the repeat flag has turned up in the EPG but I cannot see any repeat symbol where I know they should be one.

Is it not working, not available, or am I doing something wrong?

Beyonwiz / T2 Incomplete EPG Data
« on: June 03, 2018, 09:08:58 PM »
For some reason my T2 only has a limited amount of EPG data, none on some channels, on Sunday 3 June, and forward through to Wednesday 6 June. It appears to be more complete from Thursday 7 June onwards.

IceTV EPG Content / Deutschland 83
« on: April 15, 2018, 09:51:38 AM »
Episodes Bold Guard and Able Archer of Deutschland 83 scheduled for early morning Saturday 21 April look like repeats of the final two episodes of this series originally broadcast on SBS in March 2017.

From what I have read there are to be two sequels, Deutschland 86 and Deutschland 89, that haven't seen the light of day yet. IMDB has Deutschland 86 listed but no screening date for the first episode.

SBS screening of repeats of series often presage the imminent arrival of new series. Is Deutschland 86 on its way?

IceTV EPG Content / Doctor Who - ABC ME, 6:20pm, Tue, 17 Apr
« on: April 12, 2018, 05:12:55 PM »
From the FTA EPG "The TARDIS has crashed, Clara is lost inside, and the Doctor has 30 minutes before his ship explodes. CAST: Matt Smith, Jenna-Louise Coleman"

Looks like a repeat to me. Matt Smith has since turned into a woman, and has also been seen masquerading as HRH Prince Phillip Duke of Edinburgh.

IceTV EPG Content / Food Safari Series 4
« on: January 29, 2018, 07:01:40 PM »
This week on SBS, every other episode is flagged as a repeat. I don't know if it is a new series, but new series or not I would prefer to see all episodes treated the same!

IceTV EPG Content / Jack Taylor: The Pikemen
« on: December 16, 2017, 12:07:21 PM »
Sunday December 17 on 9Gem starting at 8.30 pm. 2011 vintage, so I can't believe that it is new to Australian TV, although it might be. Curiously Iain Glen, playing the lead character, is not listed as one of the actors. I haven't been taking notice, so 9Gem might have been running this as a series, although IceTV has The Pikemen listed as a movie so it may be just a one-off. In any case, I would rate the series of 9 Jack Taylor TV telemovies as entertaining, so worthy of a keyword favourite or recording. The last three episodes were screened about a year ago in the UK, I think on Channel 5.

Beyonwiz / IceTV - Notification of failed timer
« on: October 11, 2017, 08:16:44 PM »
I have been getting some emailed IceTV - Notification of failed timers lately for a Beyonwiz DP-P2. I don't know how long I have subscribed to this error notification service but it seems to me that it was working fine for a while until I started to get these notifications recently.

They appear when a timer has already been set in the P2 but needs to be updated with a new start time from the IceTV server. Although I receive an IceTV - Notification of failed timer, and there is an error triangle next to the timer on the My Week web page, the new timer seems to have been set correctly in the P2.

Clearly something is not working as it should, and I would like to know if it is something that I need to address at my end, or if it is something that IceTV needs to address at theirs.
