IceTV EPG Content / Gideon's Way
« on: July 24, 2015, 09:14:58 AM »
This morning's "Gideon's Way" episode broadcast on GEM at 00:57 - 02:01, "Big fish, little fish"  (Series 1 Ep8),
once again uses the episode description for  "Big Fix"  (Series 1 Ep 4) instead.        "Big Fix" is not "Big Fish".
As this is a constant problem with this particular episode alone,(AFAIK),  I assume that the database in use was corrupted at the initial input of Episode detail information.
I further assume that no-one else has advised Ice of the error, and you can't fix a problem you don't know about.

Could someone at Ice please check and edit the relevant data.

Yahoo! Widget / Repeated need to re-authorise Widget
« on: February 27, 2011, 03:38:56 PM »
I have had a subscription for several years and have used the Widget since joining.
I can see the need to re-authorise a Widget occasionally, from a security point of view, but cannot see why I have to do it so often. At present I need to re-authorise every second time I try to update the "TV Guide" information.

When I am forced to de-authorise and re-authorise I can see that I have an account, that the account is up to date and  how much longer I have have full access. Why does the Widget, having "signed in", not have the same information available to it?

Why does it tell me that I need to buy a subscription in order get the next seven days programming under the "TV Guide" tab?

Why does it, at the same time, show me all the TV programs, for the same next seven days, that I have told it I am interested in following under the "My Upcoming Shows" tab?

Is anyone else experiencing similar problems?  Has anyone previously had a similar problem and found a fix?
TIA for feedback.

Smart Recording website and General questions / CommunityTV to go digital
« on: November 04, 2009, 03:05:52 PM »
It's about time.
Kev and Conroy have finally extracted the digit.

I will appreciate having my C31 programs included in the Ice Guide - when the broadcasting bit actually happens.

The Rudd Government has determined a pathway for Community Television to make the transition to digital broadcasting.

“Community Television is an important component of the Australian media landscape and I am very pleased that it now has a pathway to digital transmission,” said the Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy, Senator Stephen Conroy.

“I am delighted that by working closely with the Community TV sector, we have identified suitable spectrum and necessary funding to enable Community TV stations to begin digital simulcasts.”

I am on dial-up and only intermittently check my e-mail and some sites on the web. While I am online the widget updates the current TV program schedule. Occasionally it fails, leaving me with no information at all and I have to shut it down and  re-open it to get the new guide.  When I am on-line Windows checks for updates and downloads and installs them - requiring me to shut down the PC. Life happens.

Would it be possible for the Widget to keep a backup of the last successful TV schedule received, or to access any such file that it already keeps,  so that when the PC is rebooted and the widget opens,  it displays the most recent current guide successfully downloaded?

IceTV EPG Content / Community TV C31 being allowed to go Digital ?
« on: April 19, 2009, 01:29:12 PM »
Possibly mis-overheard in passing on radio 3AW gardening show this morning that C31 in Melbourne at least is  going digital shortly.
Does any-one have more concrete info on
1. The timetable or even truth of the eventual cutover of community TV to Digital.
2.  How long after such a cut-over was announced would IceTV be able to incorporate C31 into the guide and Widgets.

I am missing a lot of good progs ATM by forgetting to check the C31 guide. It would be great to get easier access again.

Yahoo! Widget / Widget lock-ups on dial-up only?
« on: July 13, 2008, 01:20:11 PM »
I have been using both Ice TV widgets for a few weeks and the only problem with them is that they lose functionality, display and lock up when they cannot access the internet. I am sure that with DSL (being always up) this is not a problem. As I am on dial-up it is a problem.
Have I missed dong something on instal or set up, not checked a box for connection options etc? If I am already doing everything properly with the widgets as they are, would it be possible to modify them so that they check for a connection to the net before attempting to update?
Any advice will be appreciated.

Regards Lindsay
