IceTV EPG Content / Re: What Happened to MotoGP
« on: March 23, 2014, 04:21:20 PM »
That explains why the moto2 and moto3 races have vanished from the guide. And possibly why network ten had the Sebring 12 hour sports car race on for the first year ever that I can remember.

So confirming, for me at least - if the Humax is on a wireless network, most dlna devices will not see it.  Switching over to wired (ethernet, cat5, cat 6, whatever) resolves the issue and the media server is discovered by all 3 players within seconds.
Definitely seems like the Humax's DLNA support when it is using wireless is not 100% reliable.

Should we perhaps fill out some kind of bug report?
Should let Humax support know, in case they don't already.

I just tried using wireless instead of wired and there is a difference under one scenario.

FYI I have the Humax's "Power Saving in Standby" set to ON, if that makes a difference.

1. If I start Media Player 12 when the Humax is already turned on it takes about 30 seconds for the "HDR-7500T Media Server" appears under "Other Libraries" (instead of 10 seconds with wired).

2. When I started the Humax with Media Player 12 already running nothing happened. It's been over 25 minutes and I'm still waiting for the Humax to appear.

3. I just repeated 1 and 2 with a laptop and the Humax appeared as it should both times.

So I get the same issue as you when I use wireless on the Humax to a wired PC if the Humax turns on after WMP12. But everything works OK if WMP12 is started after the Humax, or when using wireless Humax to wireless laptop, or wired Humax to wired PC.

Interestingly while waiting for the Humax to appear on the wired PC, Serviio appeared. I have Serviio, Plex and TVersity running on this PC. Plex, TVersity and my DiskStation NAS all appear right away, every time I start Media Player 12. Though none of these other servers should affect seeing the Humax.

On the laptop, Serviio, Plex, TVersity and WMP (all from the other PC) and my DiskStation NAS all appear right away, every time I start Media Player 12.

My biggest suspicions are with either a bug in the Humax server (ie not properly dlna compliment), or a bug with using both humax wireless + dlna server.

Can I ask you - is your humax wireless or wired?

And does the humax appear as soon as you open Meida Player 12?
I am using wired. I'll try wireless and let you know if it is any different.

If I start the Humax when Media Player 12 is already running it takes about a minute before the "HDR-7500T Media Server" appears under "Other Libraries".

If I start Media Player 12 when the Humax is already turned on it takes about 10 seconds for the "HDR-7500T Media Server" appears under "Other Libraries".

I should mention that the Humax videos are only listed under "HDR-7500T Media Server > Videos > All Videos" and "HDR-7500T Media Server > Videos > Folders". None of the other choices list anything (they appear empty). e.g. Music, Pictures, Recorded TV and Playlists are empty, as are Actors, Genre and Rating etc under Videos.

Seeing as Windows Media Player 12 works for me can I ask the obvious question; Have you enabled 'Content Share' on the Humax in 'Menu > Settings > System > Internet Setting'?

Windows Media Center also works for me.

I CAN use pre-padding, but prefer not to - makes clashing with other shows more likely.
Soft padding does not cause timer conflicts (at least not on modern PVRs). Hard padding causes conflicts.

PVRs use soft padding. Windows media center also uses soft padding (unless you have Win7 or 8 and have hard padding enabled in the IceTV Interactive app).

Hi Kay,

When 1.06 was released many people needed to do the full steps here:

A couple even had to do it twice, so it certainly would not hurt to do it again.

Are there any other providers that may also have trouble with ice TV?
AFAIK Topfield PVRs can have issues using Vodafone and aaNet (and maybe iiNet). They do implement a solution when informed of the problem, but the problem can reoccur if IceTV gets new IP addresses again.

Check in task manager if the IceTV app is using lots of CPU resources. If it is, shut down the IceTV app then delete the IceTV sub folders under the hidden ProgramData folder.

Humax / Re: Humax HDR7500T Freezes with Firmware v1.08.04

If this is a firmware bug then I'd imagine that Humax have been busy resolving the issue in the next firmware version. Humax support have indicated that the next update is close to being released so maybe the solution is not too far away.

Plural of Volkswagen, anyone? :)
Rubbish?  :)

LOL, of course you are correct, even if pedantic.

While on the topic of passwords, though, any chance of getting IceTV to accept characters in them, such as !@#$%^&*.
Often these character issues are from the PVR itself. For example: IceTV supports the @ sign in your username and/or password but the Beyonwiz seems to not send the login details correctly if it includes an @ sign. The Beyonwiz is possibly sending an incorrect character code instead of @ or maybe even dropping the @. Whatever it is sending results in the Beyonwiz displaying false error messages when you 'Check User Info'.

If the Member ID contains an @ sign the Beyonwiz shows:
"Network connection failed. Check the network setting first."

If the Password contains an @ sign the Beyonwiz shows:
"System is busy. Please try again later."

It can also alternate between these and other error messages.

The Elgato EyeTV software for Macs has the same issue with the @ sign. EyeTV signs in to IceTV OK but then gives a 'Server Error' when you click on 'Update Now' to force a guide update.

Humax / Re: new firmware 1.08

so whats the go- any noticeable changes?
Version 1.08.04 provides following benefits

Enhanced TV Portal Browser system from ANT to Opera
Supplemented Quickflix service
Redeemed VFD Indicator on Active Standby Mode
Resolved temporary error from SBS on Demand

whats this mean in english?
In English it means:
- They changed the brand of web browser that TV Portal uses. The TV Portal is just a web page on a server somewhere, so the Humax needs a web browser to be able to access the TV Portal. The change was probably needed for Quickflix or for the SBS On Demand bug fix.
- They added the Quickflix movie service to the TV Portal.
- They fixed the bug where the front display would go blank in standby with Power Saving In Standby set to Off. VFD = Vacuum Flouro Display

Would check with ota guide but where is their repeat flags?
Only 1 of the TV network has repeat flags in their FTA guide, and this may only be in city areas, or maybe only in Sydney. It's either "7, 7two and 7mate" or "9, Go and Gem".

SBS don't even have repeat flags in their online guide.
