FTA is fine and accurate for me, hence i have stopped using Ice.

I have also been getting 8 days of programs.

Maybe IceTV are being a bit cautious this time around and aren't taking subscriptions incase it goes belly up.

Better for a few to lose $8 instead of year or twos subscription, as i did.

General Discussions / Support, what support
« on: November 08, 2015, 01:41:21 PM »
After several attempts to speak to support i have given up.

I remember in time gone by i could call support most anytime and if i was lucky i got to speak to either Dave or Daniel, two very pleasant people to deal with.

Now i have to call between 12 & 6, never gets answered and no call backs.

Had to try the free to air programming for a few days and to my surprise i still get 7 days worth so i don't need IceTV anymore.

Been with them for many years but time to say by bye.

I wish Dave & Daniel all the best, along with all at IceTV.

There's an FAQ on the Topfield Forum about how IceTV works on Topfield PVRs. Unfortunately, for reasons unknown to me, the Topfield forum is now completely closed to non-members (even for reading), so I no longer post links to that forum.
It's just Topfield being over protective.
They don't want anyone posting anything negative about their products.
They don't like being told the truth at times, that's why their original forum was taken down, too much abuse and most of it was deserved.

I'll second the request for shows that are not part of a series to default to "episode only" when setting the recording.
I would also like that......

Half your luck!
Every time I use it, it crashes.
I look at guide, might do a search, find something I want to record, press schedule recording and BAM crash.
Or I look at My Week, flick back to the Guide, find something go to read synopsis and BAM crash.

Are you using an Iphone4 or 3G?

App crashes a lot still for no reason (in the guide pages), and also when setting recordings.
It has never crashed with me and I use it a lot.

It's a pity a refresh takes so long though ...
Mine takes less than 5 seconds to do a refresh.

The Retina icon is better.

Like the default to Guide option.

I am sure to find more as I spend more time with it.... ;D

Pull down or Release to update... ;)

- The "Last EPG Fetch" should update hourly while your Topfield is on.
It's a good thing they say "should"

If you are lucky it will do the first fetch after one hour of running.

With power prices there is no way I am leaving it running 24/7 just to get IceTV data.

To make dummy startups and leave it running for over one hour just to fetch is a joke.

No info if the show is a Repeat is also fairly poor.

ICETV data fetching is one place where my Beyonwiz DP-P1 really shines, the first fetch is done when it is starting up.

It also has Repeat flags.

All down to poor Topfield firmware.

Do a factory reset, power off for a minute then power up and do a full scan.

If some one would take the top features from the 2400 series and the DP-P1 they would possibly end up with a good machine, a TopWiz  ;D ;D

The fairly careful documentation of the problems with Beyonwizes on the Beyonwiz forum also shouldn't be confused with them necessarily having more problems then other brands.
I never insinuated that, just pointed out that Topfield are not the only pvr's with problems.

I would never EVER buy a topfield again.  they are hopeless
The 7000 series was junk, the 7100 series a little better.

I now have a 2460 and it is the tops.

I also own a BW DP-P1 and prefer the Toppy.

If you think it is only the Topfield brand with problems I suggest you pay a visit to the Beyonwiz forums.

I purchased a new 7100HD Plus nearly two weeks ago

IceTV is not the problem, the dodgy hit & miss 7100HD firmware is the problem.

I got sick of the 7100 not fetching the guide and returned it to the place of purchase.

Quite a few 7100HD's were being returned because of the guide fetch issue.

I got a 2400 instead and it fetches without any problems.

My Beyonwiz DP-P1 fetches without issues and has done so for 6 years.

The 7100 series is better that the crappy 7000 series in a lot of ways, but fails miserably at fetching the guide.
