EyeTV / EyeTV 3
« on: January 18, 2008, 09:08:56 PM »
Elgato has just released EyeTV 3. Would it be fair to assume it has been tested with IceTV and their are no known issues?

Would just like to be sure before deciding whether to jump.

Thanks. That makes sense but a more informative message would be helpful - perhaps the next version of EyeTV. I'm still finding the odd program is listed as REC on PIMP but not scheduled for recording on EyeTV. It is just occasional but enough that I have to manually compare schedules, kind of defeating the purpose of PIMP. Any ideas?

Just an update. It seems that my automatically scheduled updates are working to some extent, although quite a few programs are marked as REC on PIMP but not scheduled for recording in EyeTV. However, I still can't manually check remote scheduling.

EyeTV / PIMP not working

PIMP seems to have suddenly stopped working for me. Attempts to check remote scheduling result in an odd message that "The tvtv account information is invalid." Program guide still updates without a problem. Running EyeTV 2.3.3. Any ideas?

Good that you are working on PIMP. I spoke too soon about my problem being fixed. Series programs stopped being automatically added again after Thu 11/2. Hope it is working soon.

Not sure if you made changes at your end but series recordings are now being queued as expected. The series recording option is a great value added feature of IceTV. Keep up the good work!

A suggestion. It would be good to be able to automatically list and optionally record upcoming programs of a particular genre (e.g., science fiction, natural history). Perhaps this is something you could consider for the future?

Windows Vista Media Center / PIMP Series Option Problem
« on: January 03, 2007, 09:43:04 AM »
I can program a series without problem and all of the episodes currently in the guide will be queued for recording. However, as new episodes are added to the guide they are not queued. If I go to the series tab and click on "Update", additional available episodes will then be queued - but this rather defeats the purpose of a series option! Am I missing anything? Using EyeTV 2.3.3 on an iMac.

I'm sure some of you would have noticed by now... we quietly updated the PIMP site today.

http://www.icetv.com.au/pimp/

The new web interface is MUCH better than the old PIMP. Almost every aspect of the site has been improved. I'd write a list here, but it'd be too long. This isn't the end either... we have big plans for the PIMP interface. We'll be making some small tweaks over the coming weeks and even bigger changes after that.

We'd love to hear what you think of it!

Cheers,
Marc.

Just some feedback. Sorry to be contrary, but I must admit I really dislike the "improved" interface. Previously you could just log on and scroll to see the whole day. Now you have to select "The rest of the day" in a fiddly drop-down menu. Similarly, instead of just clicking on a letter to view another day, you again have to fiddle with another drop-down menu.  Without any horizontal bars to identify time slots, it seems more difficult to actually find what you want.  It might not bother me so much if I hadn't used the original interface, which was clean and streamlined. Perhaps others will like the new version better.

Fortunately, I still seem to be able to access the old interface with a saved address, meaning I still have access to favourites - the most useful feature of PIMP for me. One suggestion - when you do introduce favourites in the new interface, it would be good if episodes scheduled for recording could be flagged.

EyeTV / Re: News on EyeTV 2.3.2 with Australian EPG - Imminent?

I having an odd problem also. I boot from two different drives (a long story). I have the EyeTV current build (2396) and an account name that is not my email address. I had no problem setting up the program guide when booting from my internal hard drive but on the external one I get and error message from the EyeTV Guide preferences: "Account status not available (Error: -3263)". I have checked a dozen times and the username and password are definitely correct. Although I boot from two different drives, all my EyeTV data is stored on the internal drive. Is it possible a preference file is corrupt? Any other ideas?

How do you spell embarrassment. My problem was related to Little Snitch blocking the connection although, in my defence, I don't remember telling it to block EyeTV. All is working well now.

EyeTV / Re: EyeTV Mac Issue

Thanks for the response. Just tried scheduling a program on each channel I use and all the information came through OK. If it were a mapping issue, I would expect it would be there all the time? Seems to be unpredictable but will experiment some more.

I'm not using EyeTV 2.3 yet as there have been problems reported with stuttering when programs are burned to DVD.

Just an update. After restarting the (currently non-functional) Mac Widget the correct channel mapping appeared in MacPimp. However, I'm now getting the PIMP - MANUAL RECORDING message instead of any program details.

I'm assuming that the developers monitor this forum so will provide an update. I'm still getting the PIMP – MANUAL RECORDING message instead of program details for some recordings in EyeTV schedules.  However,  at other times the program details are available. At this stage I can't see any pattern to the problem. For reference, I'm using EyeTV 2.21.

Yahoo! Widget / Re: Widget issue: Not working 31-7-06... FIXED!
« on: August 01, 2006, 07:43:27 AM »
I think I may know why... the IceTV server only allows a certain amount of fetches in any given hour. If you've exceeded that quota (because the widget was trying to continuously fetch), then even if the widget was ok, it wouldn't work because the server wouldn't let it. The solution for that is to wait until the next hour... then it should just come good.

For those that are still having problems, please let me know if that fixes it.

Widget is working fine the next day so it sounds like this was the problem. Thanks for your follow-up.

Just downloaded and tried to install widget for dashboard. Shows up as a folder called "IceTV Mac Edition.widget". Even if you change the extension to wdgt, it still is not recognised as a widget. Any ideas?
Please try the download link again:
Grab it here!

Thanks. Widget now installs OK but incorrectly reports password is wrong and then stalls when updating.
