Anyway, it's looking like the problem is HDD related to ideally what i'd like to do is try to copy files that i would like to keep off of it and instal them on a new HDD to stick in the P2, of course these are files that the P2 isn't showing the names of but is showing that HDD space is being taken up. These files are in a music  folder created on the P2.

after this mornings HDD check HDD free space is now showing as something appropriate to what it should be with regard to how many recordings are showing - looks like the files i wanted to keep are gone or at the very least not visible to the P2

yes, i did a HDD check when i first noticed this problem. It proceeds fairly fast until 3/4 of the way and then appears to stop. As i had other things to do i couldn't keep watching but later when i was back it had either completed the check or maybe, i don't know if this is possible, exited without completing the check

another check this morning and it appears the same thing is happening again. I don't remember the HDD make that was installed but it was rated for PVR use.

Are there windows programs that can do what i'm wanting to do?

Or, is there somewhere i can send the HDD to get this done?

Or am i better off forgetting it and getting a new PVR that can at least do most all that the P2 can do

I posted this thread http://forum.icetv.com.au/iceforum/beyonwiz/17/p2-wiz-hdd-problem-and-whats-the-best-replacement-pvr-now/5590/

and when i try to view it all i get is a profile view of a user called vincent http://forum.icetv.com.au/iceforum/vincent/p2;area=summary

no matter what i try, i can't view my own post that i linked above. Wouldn't be surprised if it turns out that tomorrow i can't view this thread either

i'm using the version 52 of firefox and it warns me that the log on for this forum isn't secure so i'm hoping this is wrong and it is secure!

My old P2 has had a HDD fit and now it shows as only half full and only 9 recordings. It should be about to 7/8ths full

It has a 1tb drive in it that Mark, Warkus, put in a few years ago. At the time he also did all the repairs needed to make it last as lng as possible

I'm wondering if anyone repairs these now. What I'd like is to have the HDD examined to see if the remaining data on it holds my music video collection (at the very least more would be lovely but I'll take whatever comes) and if that data could be copied across to a new HDD preformatted that I can just slot back into my old P2

I don't think Mark is repairing these now as sometime back he announced that he had health issues and so was giving up the repairing business.

So it'll need to be sent to someone else I guess

Last option would be I guess updating to a new wiz of some description so I'm wondering what Wiz, or perhaps not a Wiz maybe another Toppy? Used to have an old 5000pvrt years ago, that was a good unit

Many thanks for the detailed responses.

On of the units, this one is my other halfs P2, is connected to an AP and I wasn't sure if the AP was sensing when the Icetv fetch was happening and passing on the network connection or not (the port LED stays unlit giving the impression it isn't actually on). Turns out that it is functioning even if the port LED doesn't light up when the P2 is on standby as it does when the P2 is fully powered on

Curious as to what the time interval is between the Icetv server sending out info to my Beyonwiz PVRs.

If I go into settings on one of them and use the "check user info", after the initial check, it always says wait 15 mins to get EPG data so is fresh data always sent out every 15mins during normal operation?

trying to pay for a month and keep getting the message "Error in data returned from payment gateway, please contact support" and can't complete the process

perhaps it's because i use a PO Box as my address and next to this entry field it says "Note: we are unable to deliver to P.O. Boxes." - so what exactly does get delivered anyway? This same address was acceptable in the past - not sure why it isn't now nor why a street address is even needed given nothing gets sent to it!

so what's the story here, is my PO Box address now a problem?

I have a PO Box for both delivery and billing address and my renewal went through with no issues, I got that message too and just ignored it as I've always had the PO Box.

thanks for your reply

still getting the error message "Error in data returned from payment gateway, please contact support" and cant pay

Turned out I'd entered a manual timer a couple of weeks ago, I'd done it manually because programming via icetv meant I'd miss the end of that show as the previous show always ran late. I removed the manual timer, the show had finished but I'd forgotten to remove the timer, and the mysterious entry disappeared  :)

The show that took its place was the voice and after that, embarrassing bodies - there is some sort of feedback where a manually entered timer does appear in icetv as a episode only recording but no actual timer is set - hence the appearance of these two shows in both the android, Apple and website program guide. Back to normal now  :)

11
And today "embarrassing bodies down under" has appeared with a red dot beside it (just the same as if I'd chosen to record an episode of it) on the "tv guide" and in "my week" view.

As I'm about 200ks from home I can't verify if both of these shows are actually programmed into my beyonwiz P2 or are only appearing as if they are programmed to record, weird stuff

12
For some odd reason the voice has programmed itself in for an episode only recording on the 14th this month on my beyonwiz P2. I haven't programmed it and the voice isn't on my list of TV shows currently (nor in search or favorites)- it was last year, but this year I deleted it from my list.

The single entry doesn't give me an option to delete the episode and the only way I can delete it is to add it as a series recording and then I have the option to delete it. The only problem us that shortly afterwards I find its programmed itself back in again as an episode recording. It's not really a big deal if it does only record one episode as long as it doesn't keep entering itself in to record my episodes (at present it isn't, but who knows what'll happen next time it on).

Anyone have any idea what's going on in this instance?

Edit
To clarify what's going on - in the 'my week' view the voice has a single red dot against it, when I click on the show I get the option to record it either as a series or an episode as is normal. What I'm curious about is why does it have the episode 'red dot' next to the name whip usually indicates that an episode is scheduled to be recorded when in fact it isn't

This is happening in the apple ap, the android ap and the icetv website page

Tried deleting the app and reinstalling but that hasn't fixed it. As soon as you try to use either button, channel or time, a window appears saying select day and the app freezes

I'm hoping that icetv are reading this thread and they issue an update to sort this problem out

The app is broken here on my iPad air running 8. As soon as you try to select a channel a box appears saying select day and it freezes. Quitting the app and restarting it simply takes you back into the frozen view as stated above. Rebooting the iPad fixes it, but if you try to select a channel again the app freezes again. As yet I haven't tried to do any other operations but I'm hoping it doesn't freeze when I try to program a show in  :(

Edit, just tried programming a show and it worked fine as does all other operations apart from trying to select a channel to view which freezes three app and the only fix is to reboot the iPad
