IceTV EPG Content / Re: ABC Perth EPG

Nomad congratulations you have provided the most likely explanation.
Since last week I have not any repeats of the issue.
Any word back from your mate at Aunty?

This is getting interesting. The issue has returned.
First I noticed that most of my ABC timers all had a explanation mark and all had the LCN set to ZERO.
The next I noted that the ABC EPG had vanished again.
So what is the issue? The guide for ABC is on Media Centre which is derived from ICETV so that may discount ICETV.
Could we have a problem with the firmware in the Beyonwiz?

The issue is resolved. I took the hint to check the LCNs but I can not understand why they should changed.
The last service scan would have been after ABC24 started and the previous firmware update(f/w 01.05.334)
So that would have been Sept. 2010. All has worked well except for the last few days. I only watch the ABC and SBS so I would have noted it prior to this.
I did not check the LCNs I just ran a service scan and forced an ping. After about 50 minutes or so in came the ABC epg.
The ICEtv site told me that the epg was being download at the correct time.
So what has changed? Maybe ICEtv or the ABC?
If it was either I would expect others to have noted the issue, I guess.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Good question - Beyonwiz dp-s1 running f/w 350
Interesting the Media centre has the ABC epg. I have checked the favourites on the wiz and all looks OK

Hello All,
Over the past day or so I have noted that the ABC network has no programs list in the EPG. Other networks are there and provide data
I have ensured that I can ping the ICEtv system.
Any ideas?

Topfield / Re: ONE EPG using TEDS Suite for Perth

tonymy01 - One reason for proceeding the way I did was I need to firstly know the basics. I could not find in a plain english sentence describing what that number was. Now I know it as the ICETV Unique identifier for the ONE EPG in the region of Perth. As you were not able to answer in the other place what the number was, my next step was to ask IceTV. After nearly 30 years as a hardware computer engineer there are lots of things I don't know. But I do know that if I ask a basic question I will get a little bit of the final answer. If the person I'm talking to cannot answer the whole question I will go and find someone who can add a bit more. Works for me.

Daniel - Many thanks. Yes, of course you are correct, the IDs are in the source for "My Account" and it works just fine.
Now I have ONE in TEDS for Perth.

Again Thanks to you both

Topfield / ONE EPG using TEDS Suite for Perth
« on: March 26, 2009, 05:33:13 PM »
Hello All,
I use IceTV to provide the EPG using TEDS suite for my Topfield 5000. TEDS downloads all of the SD channels in Perth except ONE - the SD version of ONE HD. From other Forums I have been told that IceTV assigns a number for each channel that in unique to IceTV. For example ONE (SD) in Sydney is 1700, so I’m told.
What I would like to know is the IceTv number for ONE in Perth.
In the TEDS suite it has a configuration file called iceguide.ini and it contains the line

The format maps the IceTV channel number to the LCN in the Toppy.  From that I can see that 26 is for Ch#2(ABC), 37 is for ch#22(ABC2) and IceTV#99 is for LCN 1. LCN 1 is ONE HD. Just to see what happens I used 1700 to LCN12 which should be ONE. It did’nt work.
Can anyone help in providing the IceTV unique identifier for ONE in Perth please?

Beyonwiz / Re: Seven SD EPG Missing

Yes you are correct the issue was not having 7sd in the favouties list. Once it was added the all worked just fine. Great how I set up the favourites twice and left out 7sd both times. This may be explained as we don't watch 7 anyway. Only when the AFL is on that is.

I'm having a similar issue with ch7. My location is in Perth and run a BW with fw=280.
I have executed a factory reset on the BW after the Firmware update.
Over the past few weeks and it could be more I get every other channel but not ch7sd.
ABCHD SBS, CH7HD Ch9HD and SD but not C7 sd.

Any ideas?

Could not agree more. I have noted that on consective programs for example, 'The New Inventors' and 'Spicks and Specks' that I get two files. The only problem is end of the inventors is on the beginning of the Spicks and Specks file. What would be best is if the end of one propgram  and the begining of the next were 5-10 minutes apart then why not append the total recording time.
Surely if TEDS can do it then icetv can do it.

In regards to programs that have the same name and occur on more than one channel the need is to resolve the problem of making the selection of the channel more flexiable. If the pull down list had all the channels listed and not just Any Channel or TEN for example.
In four weeks time the issue will go away for this particular program (AFL .... ) but it will happen again, the Olympics were on a possible four channels as well. I like to record Catalyst(ABC1) but this clashes with Inspector REX and The Simpsons. So I record the repeat a few days later on ABC2, in the current configuration this cannot be done.
This lacks a bit of future thinking, It will happen again. So resolve lets the issue now so include in the list all SD and HD channels.
Another thing - How about a Day selection? That will increase the filtering on programs, it would help to resolve my Catalyst issue.
Please remember, so of us like the way teds functions and the comparison is alive and well.

I'm very pleased to see this subject raised as I find the issue with the AFL program on four channels very frustrating at times. I want to have a favourite on 7 and 10, but to have the option of selecting 7HD or 10HD. At the moment I have to set 10 as the favourite and when I can persuade it I manually select one the other programs.
My preference is I would like to select the channel, day and even the time of day. I guess after using 'teds' for some time the restrictions imposed by ICEtv on favorites it is not a good selling point. (For the slow reader that’s a hint)
