Widget for Mac OSX Dashboard / Re: Ice and EyeTV 2.0.1

and the elgato response asking to when it would be available?

There has never been an announced release for IceTV support.

I'm sure that someone said that we are working on it for a future update.

But if anyone said that it would be ready on a certain date, or with a certain EyeTV build, then that was incorrect.

More work needs to be done in this area.  There is no release date for such support at this time.

Looks like Elgato did not get the EPG update in their 2.1 release  :'(

Trying to remember why I upgraded to v2 in the first place  >:(

Perhaps ABC are testing a full DVB program guide?
That was my guess. Esp since it only was one channel and not all hours of the day.

Has there been an update to EyeTV or ICE Guide?  We typically use the ICETV widget as we await v2.1, however today when I looked at the EyeTV EPG (missed clicked on a playlist), I see the programming for 20 ABC HDTV.  Cannot see any other channels.  Is this part of a trial?

currently using EyeTV v2.0.1 (2022) and ICETV Dashboard Widget v1.1

edit: I notice that If I choose a different date, it shows the usual graphic with 4 rows with bullet and line.
The program data goes upto midday tomorrow.

General Discussions / Editorial comments of shows
« on: January 30, 2006, 08:40:25 PM »
As a subscriber, I am looking for accurate descriptions of shows on at any given time.  For movies you'd expect a plot extract, for regular television shows a quick note on which episode it is.

IMHO the editorialisation of show description is neither welcome nor appropriate; particularly given the significant charge requested by ICE.

For example, channel nine's news:

"Strong advice... take the kids to the park and return for SBS World News or the ABC News at 7pm. Cos IceMan told me so ..."
Ok, so as a one off I see the humour.  Every night it's hardly entertaining and just ruins the information on my PVR.

Or a movie (eg Top Gun from last night)

"Then it's time to watch this slick 1980's blockbuster about a group of cocky fighter pilots. Maverick compares egos with Iceman, cracks onto his hot teacher, redeems the tarnished reputation of his dead father, watches his best friend Goose go down in flames and finally wins the day - all in the name of peace, democracy and the right to wear Ray-bans."

Guys, we are paying you for a guide data service not a poor attempt at stand-up comedy.  ~$150 for that kind of garbage is offensive.

If you want to charge a professional price, offer a professional product.

Can someone from Ice please comment as to their intention of continued editorialisation of this information?

XMLTV (General) / Empty SBS channels?
« on: January 24, 2006, 08:02:26 PM »
Hi guys,

I have been a subscriber to your guide data for quite some time and really do think its depth of information is great.  However I have noticed that SBS world news has no programme entries today and tomorrow and I can't find any entries at all for SBS and ABC HD channels for the next week.  All other channels are perfect and I haven't altered my channel configs for weeks.

Is this a common problem or do I need to start some heavy XML and SQL debugging?

TIA.

The app itself is better integrated and easier to navigate, and the one click to iPod Video or Roxio Toast is nice, although I wish they would add output to DVR-MS (dreaming!) or any registered Quicktime codec (I have the Flip4Mac WMV Studio codec installed) so I could play it back on my Media Center.

You should drop them a note on feedback page...

Widget for Mac OSX Dashboard / Re: Programs not scheduling

Hi Lee,
The good news is that it's been fixed and will appear in the 1.1 update due in a couple of days. The update will appear automatically in the widget when it's available. Please let us know if you have any more problems after that!
Cheers.

Any news on the update. Has it been released?

Currently using 1.02
I get prompted for an update from dashboard widget under OSX, and then when download it tells me that it is older than my current widget.
If I insist with update I still have the same version.

Hi Matt,
How you you finding the EyeTV stuff
we re coded all of it.
You may have noticed you dont need to have the EyeTV app open to view the schedules and completed recordings or to view the dots on 3/5/all that indicate the show is scheduled

Mainly good. Seems to have improved a lot of the integration.  Like the red REC indicator.
However when running widget without running EyeTV and choosing "Add to EyeTV" from widget, it hangs, EyeTV starts and then hangs with beachball. Finally the widget returns with error "Error adding program".  Have to manually kill EyeTV process.

I have upgraded EyeTV to 1.8.4 and Widget to 1.02  (EDIT: probably should have posted to the 1.02 thread)

ps just one look&feel feedback with the pop-up for program info, the transparency might need to be reduced a little, as there seems to be suffient contrast with the underlying text (too visible) and therefore hard to read the white text in the pop-up as does not stand out over the background

You will be able to view a full 7 days data in the latest beta

Works a treat!! The info in the guide seems to have a better presentation and overall widget seems to perform a lot better in download and also communication with EyeTV

New dashboard widget is great!!  Seems to be more responsive, does not hang, and now shows the 7 day guide and different times.
Thanks again for update.

I am often getting an issue with Beta3 freezing, however I am not sure if it is an issue with EyeTV or Widget.  Have to force quit EyeTV afterwards.  Fortunately it does not always occur, however frustrating as inconsistent.  Waiting for Beta4

Great, will the Dashboard version (later this week) be available on downloads or do we contact you directly?
Also on the current Beta3 should I be able to see more than current day?  I am a fully paid subscriber.
