Since updating the Firmware on one of my T2 IceTV sends error messages about failed timer update. It appears that the T2 is only allocating timers to two of the three tuners. It appears that the T2 recocognises that it has 3 turners (see attachment). Any suggestions. I have already tried a Factory Reset, but it made no difference.

I had to disconnect the USB tuner to do the firmware update.

IceTV EPG Content / Midnight Sun - guide shows two episodes but ....
« on: January 21, 2017, 06:39:16 PM »
The last two weeks Midnight Sun has been scheduled with two consecutive episodes. However, there is only one program transmitted which occupies the time-slot. Also the program description has been the same for both episodes. Something clearly not rigth with this. Again next week two episodes are scheduled and they (again) have the same description.

Is there in rality 2 episodes, or is just one episode?

Topfield / New user forum for Australian Topfield PVR users
« on: September 01, 2016, 12:50:16 PM »
The forum is now 'live'

With the likely demise of the Topfield Australia Forum, a group of Toppy enthusiasts has come together to establish a new Forum. The Forum should go live at some time over the weekend. I will update this post when it does. The forum will be  located at  https://oztoppy.forumchitchat.com/.

Update 04-09-16 08:09: There was a slight glitch in the settings, which is now fixed. You should be able to create and account now.

Topfield / IceTV sends timer for LCN that has been deleted on the Toppy
« on: August 30, 2016, 04:54:28 PM »
Am I correct that in the following instance the setting of the timer will fail:
  • I have selected 'prefer high definition' for the series recording but have deleted the HD LCN from the Toppy (without disabling the HD LCN in my account) where the same program is transmitted in both SD and HD.
  • I have selected 'prefer standard definition' for the series recording but have deleted the SD LCN from the Toppy (without disabling the HD LCN in my account) where the same program is transmitted in both SD and HD.
  • Where the same service has two LCNs assigned to it and I delete the lower one, but have not disabled it in my account the timer will fail (as timers are always sent to lowest LCN, 1 rather than 12, 2 rather than 21, 7 rather than 71 and 9 rather than 92.)

Beyonwiz / Second T2 not showing up in device list
« on: July 08, 2016, 04:46:11 PM »
Just set up my second T2. IceTV is set up on the T2, the EPG data has downloaded by the device is not showing in my account. It still says there is a free device.

Any suggestion on how to fix this?

Update: Manually added the device and set some recordings. Will report progress.

SKIPPA / SKIPPA causes network overload
« on: July 01, 2016, 05:02:25 PM »
I was testing a SKIPPA I got for spare parts (it had no power supply) and HDMI does not work. I was testing to see if there were any other issues and after about 24 hours it flooded the network (wild flickering on front of two network switches and the router) with traffic to such an extent that I could not access the internet. Unplugged the SKIPPA from the network and internet access was restored. Looks like it is definitely a spare parts SKIPPA.

Topfield / Topfield Australia Forum off-line 25-04-16
« on: April 26, 2016, 08:15:24 AM »
The Topfield Australia Forum is currently disabled. The last time this happened it was because no one got around to paying the annual fee. Hopefully it will be fixed in the near future.

SKIPPA has time one hour ahead. Rebooting did not fix the problem nor did physically unplugging the SKIPPA. When it boots up it claims to be checking the time but obviously is not doing so. I may have to do a factory reset if no one has any better suggestion.

I thought there was something peculiar with the subject description for this in the EPG, text below:

Air Crash Investigations [R] 7TWO (G)

Mayday: Collision Course (2000 - Express Samina Ferry)

In the year 2000, 80 people died when a MS Express Samina became a victim of rough seas, sharp rocks and the worst kind of human error. (Canada, English)

Looked at the recording and the content description was correct, program name was wrong. The interesting thing is that 7Two thought they were transmitting an episode of Air Crash Investigations, there were pop-up say the the 'now' program was Air Crash Investigations. So, not an error by IceTV (according to 7Two).

Topfield / 29 January 2016 Toppy firmware 2.16.00
« on: March 12, 2016, 04:38:40 PM »
This firmware (for the TRF-2400, TRF-2460, TRF-5300/5310/5320) fixes the playback navigation problems with MPEG4 (H 264) recordings. There is no firmware fix for the TF7100HDPVRt.

It can be downloaded from the oztoppy wiki: http://oztoppy.wikidot.com/firmware-list

Initially I suspected that the problem was with invalid characters in EPG Data, and Dave suggested that there may be some problems with service recognition (see discussion here: http://forum.icetv.com.au/iceforum/bug-reports/47/ice-causes-rebooting-on-7100plus-recorders-beginning-today/5023/msg26883#new )

I did a factory reset on both the Toppys, powered down the Toppy, did another reset to factory settings, and set up the Toppy. In each case in the process of setting up IceTV on the Toppy the Toppy spontaneously rebooted during the device selection. Eventually I managed to get the correct devices selected. Neither Toppy is downloading EPG data, nor are they downloading timers (which I have resent several times). On both units I did another service reset with the same outcome. It is not clear if the Toppy is requesting EPG and Timer Downloads; if it is, the requests are not successful.

My other 7100+ and 2400 (on same account) are not having any issues. Not sure if they have booted-up since the problem started. No problems with Toppys on my second account (as far as I am aware).

Update: Dave the devices with this problem are 2400 1 and 7100+ 2

There can be issues when you do a service scan to pick up these new services. The Toppy can assign the wrong LCN to services which could cause problem with IceTV EPG. As it can also result in duplicate LCNs for the same same service (which IceTV Toppys do not cope well with).

The best thing to do is to delete all services: Menu, Installation, System Recovery, Reset Service List. Then do a new service scan. In part the issue seems to be associated with the duplicate service detection module of the firmware (seems to have been added in more recent firmware).

This service is advertised as commencing on Wednesday March 2; are we to assume that EPG data will be provided from commencement as it has the same content as Ten?

IceTV EPG Content / Early Start - Silent Witness (Tuesday nights, GEM)
« on: February 24, 2016, 10:22:32 AM »
In recent weeks the transmission has started before the IceTV scheduled time (8.40pm). With 15 pre-padding on my Toppys I come close to missing the start of the program. This week there was only just over 2 minutes of the recording before the program started (so it was at least 10 minutes before the start time in the IceTV guide).
