Humax / Re: HDR-7500T overheating
« on: March 10, 2017, 04:57:32 PM »
After you have backed up your important recordings (moved to USB or copied via FTP to a computer) I would suggest formatting the hard drive and doing a factory reset to see if that makes any improvement.

Don't delete any recordings until you have finished backing up any that you want to keep. I've heard of a few 7500s that got stuck deleting a recording and the only solution was to remove the hard drive and format it in a computer, then put the hard drive back into the Humax and let it format it again. Obviously formatting the hard drive will delete all of your recordings.

Hi littlebird,

The cooling fan in the Humax 7500 may be functioning but they do tend to slow down before they eventually fail. So the fan in your Humax may not be operating fast enough to keep the Humax cool. The fan can also become partially blocked by dust which also reduces its effectiveness.

With the cover off the PVR keep your fingers (and pets) well away from the power supply circuit board. The heatsinks on the power supply board will kill you if you touch the wrong one.

An overheating Humax due to a failed fan can damage other components (like the hard drive or power supply).

After the Humax has been running for an hour or more switch it off at the 240v power switch (or power point) then tap the front power button a few times to drain any residual power. Double check that the 240v power is off. Now carefully touch only the top of the hard drive to see if the hard drive was running hotter than normal. If the hard drive is almost too warm to comfortably leave your hand on top of it then it is probably failing. You can buy 1TB hard drives from computer stores from $65 upwards.

IceTV EPG Content / Re: Missing Timers

I'm missing a lot of upcoming timers. They're showing in the online guide and MyWeek, but not on the T4

It's only showing 4 out of 11 for today
Saturday, 2 of 7
Sunday 14 of 16

For your main T4 its timers are all showing as scheduled now. Except for a timer conflict for Q & A and a few NRL Rugby League matches that you cancelled. Your other T4 has no series recordings assigned to it.

If there are still timers missing off the main T4 you can resend all recordings:

The T4, T3 and T2 Beyonwiz and Skippa PVRs are currently the only PVRs where you can resend all their recordings without causing false timer conflict errors.

The Monday to Thursday episodes are definitely new episodes.

Last year 7 were showing repeats on Fridays, I don't know whether or not this continues to be the case.  I stopped recording them, because they were repeats, so I have no idea whether or not they have changed this practice.

Last year they coded all episodes as new, even when they were repeats.  They're probably still doing the same thing.  If so, then IceTV has no way of knowing which episodes will be repeated and which are new.

Apparently seven is showing season 5 of The Chase Australia from Monday to Thursday. Tonight's episode is season 5 episode 14. I'm not sure but it looks like they are new episodes.

Hi pearly,

Are you sure The Chase Australia episodes at 5pm on 7 are repeats? The freeview guide and yahoo7 have them listed as new episodes.

Hi Tezza,

When you wrote "5 lines" did you mean 5 channels were affected? If so, do you know which channels? Are 7 and 7HD two of them?

The flagging of repeats in the IceTV emails sounds like the solution for the issue.

That would work for something that is 3 years old but it would not work for a show that recently aired on the east coast but hasn't been shown on the west coast yet.

Dave, I can confirm that I no longer see this bug. Thanks for your help!

Thanks for the feedback juergen.

Hi, I lost all my channel 7 LCN's yesterday.  Did a full rescan still no luck, came here and found the work around. Voila! all fixed, Thank You.

Over the last 2 months the 7 network has been broadcasting a dodgy signal that includes corrupt or missing channel number info while at the same time signalling TVs and recorders to update their 7 network channels. We first got reports from customers in Brisbane then later Sydney and then Melbourne and Adelaide. Now Prime channels in regional areas are starting to experience the same thing.

Some devices are affected more than others. Windows Media Center suffers the most because the channels move to incorrect channel numbers. On my Beyonwiz T4 I noticed 7, 70, 72, 73 and 76 had a black picture and no sound yet 71 was okay. Manually clearing and rescanning the channels fixed it. Yet my other PVRs seem unaffected.

Are you sure about that, Dave? I don't think it's supposed to do that (and I don't think it does).

If you have a series set to only record first runs then any repeat episodes of that series will have the grey series icon in TV Guide on the website. But if you have manually set a single (or daily or weekly) recording that partially covers the time-slot of one of those repeat episodes then that episode will appear on the IceTV website with the red series icon.

When IceTV changed it to a repeat, it should have been shown as a repeat on the online guide
It did when I checked it online (with the Perth region).

and not had a red icon; it should also have removed the timer from the T4.
Only if the T4 had removed it. If the T4 reports back that the timer is still on the T4 the red icon would have returned.

What does your IceTV plugin's log show?

Good morning Tiphanee. It wasn't just on my T4, it was also still showing on the online IceTV guide

That episode was updated just before 10am yesterday.

Still showing on the online IceTV guide can just mean that the timer is still set on the T4 - not that IceTV is still wanting it to record.

e.g. If there is a timer set on the T4 it will show up online in the IceTV guide and in your my Week as being scheduled. If the episode is for a show that you have a series recording set for it be shown online in the IceTV guide and in your my Week with the red series icon. You can delete it from the website or phone app but if the T4 replies later that it is still has a timer for that episode the red icon will reappear on the website and phone app (even though IceTV told the t4 to delete it).

IceTV EPG Content / Re: Ch 7 Sunday 8:30 pm. Hoges

This show is still not showing up in the Adelaide EPG.

I can see it in our Adelaide guide - see the attachment.

If you cannot see Hoges in the phone app tap Settings in the app then Reset App (which will clear the current data and download a fresh copy).

If you cannot see it on the Beyonwiz Tx try selecting 'Restart GUI' from the Power menu on the Beyonwiz... then if needed Restart GUI a second time.

Humax / Re: Padding not being added
« on: February 10, 2017, 03:34:42 PM »
Thanks for the information Dave.  Would resending the recordings reset the schedule?

I am not certain if resending all recordings will update the schedules and their padding or not. As MD suggested it wouldn't hurt to try it, though you would need to wait for one of those schedules to record to see if it worked.

Cancelling this weeks series then rescheduling those series would definitely do it. Just make sure you cancel the series from the IceTV website or phone app, then wait until the schedules have vanished off the Humax before recreating the series.

You would only need to "cancel the series, wait for PVR to update, then recreate the series" for shows that are already scheduled on the Humax for this week.

In the meantime I'm going to run some tests to document this PVRs exact behaviour to various interactions.

Hi denny09,

Those "icetv" numbers are IceTV internal system id numbers. If the show or series has normal series and episode numbers they will be in a second 'episode-num' tag with "xmltv_ns" as the system type. So there would be 2 'episode-num' tags like the following:

<episode-num system="xmltv_ns">4.19.</episode-num>
<episode-num system="icetv">11961-135434</episode-num>

Note: Some series in the IceTV guide do not yet have series and episode numbers, so you will see some shows that only have the IceTV internal id numbers. We are adding series and episode numbers to shows that don't have them yet but it will take time.
