SKIPPA / Re: Skippa not recording
« on: October 01, 2015, 04:53:49 PM »
I did the Restart through the menu, Ian but had no effect.  I powered off completely and re-booted and having checked a few times during the day, seems that Skippa is now 'talking' to IceTV.  The test will be this evening to see if it records the 2 programs I have scheduled.  Will continue to record on the trusty old TiVo also until this issue is fixed.

Am having the same problem, over 2 nights 3 shows have failed to record but still show in My Recordings and on my apps as programmed to record.  I have entered quite a few series recordings which show up on my devices and the IceTV website but only the initial programs I set up are on my Skippa.  I just can't trust Skippa to record so have to set everything on my old trusty TiVo also to be sure.  Also an issue with Ad Skip, when it works, it works fine but find programs that are showing that they have been processed are not skipping all the ads and some hardly at all.  It seems that the IceTV website and the Skippa are not communicating.

Thanks for the quick reply, Ian.  There are no other programs set to record at the same time so it would appear that it is a problem at the IceTV end.  In this circumstance, if IceTV sort the problem out, will it automatically correct itself or do I have to reset the recording?

Thank you also for setting the Wiki site, will be great when it is up and running.

SKIPPA / Recording Favourites
« on: September 27, 2015, 10:40:20 AM »
This is probably not a Skippa related problem, but as a newbie to IceTV, I know that there are a lot of knowledgeable people on this Forum.  One of the things that attracted me to IceTV was the fact that the EPG picked up shows that were not currently showing in a Favourites list, even if they changed channels (one thing the TiVo couldn't do).  I have an extensive list that I set up as Favourites and once I had my Skippa set up, set most up to record including the shows that are not on air currently.  However, I can't find anywhere that shows that they have been saved to record when they come back on air even in my Favourites folder where it still lists the option for setting to record.  Is there a way to find out if these shows are registered to record?

The other recording problem I have is that one show I have set up as a series recording and is on most week nights, is only showing Tuesday evening as set to record, the rest of the week has yellow triangles with the message 'There was an error scheduling this show to device SKIPPA. This show is part of a series recording.'  I have tried cancelling the series and resetting it, but the same thing happens.

As some of the firmware updates contain new features, would it be possible to list the changes on your website for all updates?

Me too, thanks to gas 667 giving me the heads up on his invoice number being higher than mine or otherwise I would have been waiting another 1 - 2 weeks.  Was worried that they might have put your order back because you brought to light the fact they weren't shipping first come, first served as they said, but glad to see you have got your tracking number.  Not so important now but would like to know there explanation now the rush is over as I still haven't heard from them.  Despite everything, think they have done a great job over the last couple of days to get all those Skippas on their way, I am guessing there were 500 in that first shipment.

Following a small initial run, the factory pushed our mass manufacturing slot back for a second time. Australia's order volumes are relatively small when compared to international markets. This makes it difficult for any Australian vendor to obtain priority, hence the delay. However, we are assured by the factory that our new production date will be adhered to.
A small quantity of SKIPPAs® will be shipped next week to customers who placed their order first. From September 10 onwards, we will fulfill the remaining orders on a 'first come, first served' basis. This means that every customer will receive their ordered SKIPPA® in September.

Just when I thought that they had told all the lies they could, I have now discovered their biggest!  I emailed Ice TV last week to get an update on when I would see my order and was told it was in the second shipment arriving a week after the first.  I posted this information on the forum with the date ordered (26th May) and i/v number so other members could perhaps work out what shipment their's was in.  gas667 replied to my post as he had a higher invoice number than mine but was told his was in the first shipment.  As this seemed strange, I emailed Ice TV again and asked if they were supplying on a first come, first served basis and whether the invoices were in a consecutive sequence.  This is the reply I got from Leon yesterday:

'Thank you for contacting IceTV Customer Service.
Yes we are shipping in a first come first served order. We have gotten delivery updates throughout the process, and have then passed those updates on to you.
We are sincerely doing our best, but at times we haven't had all the shipping information available, and when being pressed for answers, we have replied with the most current information we have at the time.
All orders will receive a tracking number once dispatched.'

As he hadn't answered the bit about the invoice numbers, I emailed him again for clarification and in the mean time I contacted gas667 to find out when he ordered his.  He replied that he ordered his the day after me, the 27th.  With this information, I sent another email to Leon with a please explain.  As this is a major issue in my opinion, I have been holding off posting on the forum to give them time to give me an explanation but as they have not have not bothered to reply yet, think this needs to be brought to everyone's attention.  I believe the situation is now bordering on taking it to the ACCC.  I, like most people on here have not got an issue with the hold up with the manufacturing, it is the lack of communication and lies we are being told.

Seeing Choice are doing a review on the Skippa,

Did I miss something?  Where did you see that?

I asked the question of where I was in the queue, ordered mine on the second day of sale on i/v 201199 and was told that I'm on the second batch arriving next week.  Don't know if this second shipment is being air freighted also or coming by sea but do not expect for one minute for it to arrive as forecast.  What about the email a couple of weeks ago saying all the orders would be delivered in September.  Seeing Choice are doing a review on the Skippa, perhaps they should check out the Forums and report on Ice TV's customer service or lack of it.  Perhaps they would also award them one of their 'Shonky Awards'!!

SKIPPA / Re: Skippa manual
« on: September 08, 2015, 09:32:32 PM »
Noticed that the manual has been updated again.  Still version 1.2 but having just a quick browse, see that they are now suggesting 5 minutes padding for Auto Skip instead of 10 and are including a WI-Fi antenna now.

5. Add ability to apply padding (pre & post) to individual programs/channels.
6. Add ability to record manually i.e. to record back to back programs on the same channel as one recording so alleviating  the need for padding between the programs.

SKIPPA / Re: Skippa Time Padding
« on: July 30, 2015, 09:56:20 PM »
Like a few others on this forum, I am a long time TiVo user and have been looking for a replacement for a while as I am sure that support will soon finish.  Skippa seems to tick most of the boxes for me but am a bit disappointed about the padding.  It appears that this can only be set globally and not per program and a max of 40 minutes. Although it is not such an issue on Skippa with 3 tuners, the way I handle back to back programs on the same channel on TiVo, especially when there is a clash with timing, is to cancel the second program and add enough padding to the first to record both as one program.  TiVo allows up to 3 hours of padding plus an option to set the recording manually for any time you want.  It would be great if this could be investigated as a future firmware update.  The other issue with the global padding is, as we all know, some channels are worse than others for timing and I don't see the need to add 10 minutes pre-padding to ABC shows.  My second question is with the ad removal, does this carry on even if the unit is in standby mode and is there an option to turn the feature off altogether as with my experience with VideoReDo, it will be more trouble than it is worth?  However, I will reserve my judgement till after I have the Skippa and tried it 'in the flesh".

SKIPPA / Re: Harmony remotes and Skippa

Just wondering if the codes have been passed on to Logitech yet?  Don't know how long it takes them to add new devices to their database but the earlier they get the codes the sooner it will be hopefully.  I guess like a few others on this forum, I don't want to have to use 3 remotes to watch TV for long. Many thanks.

Does anyone know if there is a Hola app or similar in the Opera Store to allow viewing of restricted content such as Hulu or CBS?
