IceTV EPG Content / Re: Movie info to include year of production
« on: February 04, 2007, 03:09:45 PM »
Thanks Mitch.

Just out of interest, will it appear in the existing data (title, description?) or will it be a new field?

If a new field, I'm sure guys such as Trapper (of Topfield TED/S fame) would appreciate a spec so they can prepare.

Either way, thanks in advance!  ;D

IceTV EPG Content / Re: SOS Animated not being listed by ICE

Mitch - FYI, there is quite a following for the HTF animations, and it is more like 5 minutes (3 animations), and it has been reported in other guides for several weeks. Thanks for listing it. I didn't notice it in last night's ICE, but I'll keep an eye open next week.

Jason - This is not a full half hour HTF, as in the past, but 3 animations - a HTF episode, Angry Kid and the space guys. And all new, from what I can tell. The "SOS Animated" title is SBS's doing, I believe.

IceTV EPG Content / SOS Animated not being listed by ICE
« on: January 23, 2007, 10:32:25 AM »
SBS run a short collection of cartoons at 20:55 on Monday nights, between South Park and Drawn Together. The program name is "SOS Animated". It used to be known as "Happy Tree and Friends" when shown in a later timeslot.

This program has been shown in the paper guides, but ICE have missed it for the last 2 weeks. Any chance of getting it listed?

Hi guys.

Has now been 6 months since I requested this. Are we any closer to having this info?

I can't understand what the difficulty is. Surely it must be in the public domain, so shouldn't cause any legal issues?

It has come up for discussion on the Toppy forum - ICETV is falling behind the "free" guides in this respect.

Hi guys.

You have set the new series of Amazing Race, starting Thursday, as a repeat.

Hi ICE.

I was surprised to see a very obscure, old movie on the ABC at 4:00am this week with the year AND director included in the description!

Is this the start of such details being included or did it somehow sneak through the system?  :)

I'd second that.

The Bill has a huge following here - one of the reasons why they did a couple of episodes here a few years back - and we have just about caught up to the UK series.

Much appreciated.

I use the Topfield with ICE data supplied by TED/S, so either method would work for me. My preference would be for the separate field, for the very reason you mention - not getting chopped off a long description.

Regards,
Chris

I sent IceTV this request, (they responded, thank you IceTV) but thought I'd also raise it here to see if others agree.

About the only thing I miss with the IceTV data is the year of production on movies, which all other guides appear to have.

With so many remakes these days it is useful to know if a movie is the original or a remake, without having to work it out via the actors. Some examples: "The Thomas Crown Affair", "Oceans 11", "King Kong" (at least 3 that I am aware of!).

I also find it useful to know if a daytime or late night movie is a good old "classic" or one of the woeful "straight to TV" releases of the last 5-10 years.

If the year was tacked on to the start or end of the description it would add just 5 characters, so I can't see it would be a great burden.

Anyone else agree?
