it controls the analogue audio output only. If you connect via RCA jacks to any device you'll find the volume will work

Humax / Dropping frames on playback
« on: January 15, 2012, 02:40:22 PM »
Just watched an avi on the internal drive of the humax. About 1 hour 30 in the unit started to drop frames. Stopped and restarted and it went away but returned 10 minutes later. stopped and restarted and ok. I hope the cpu on this thing is up to the job. Maybe humax need to look at what else is running in the background.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Thanks. I didn't find that before. I am a member from my old HTPC days so I'll check it out

Of course the problem right now is that there is no other forum that I can find for these devices. There is a thread on Whirlpool but thats about all I can find. It would be good if Humax themselves started an Australian Forum

I have my Humax going through my amp as Peter suggests. I'm using optical and I never expected the volume on the Humax to control this. That volume control on the remote is essentially only for tv use- ie- when you are using the TV's own speakers through an analogue connection. It won't work on digital.

I am using a Logitech harmony remote where the volume is slaved to the amp and all else to the Humax. It also allows me to turn on the TV, Amp and Humax with one button. It will be the best $90 you ever spent - one remote to do everything- without changing from device to device

One remote to rule them all....

I think that most companies had a couple of week break over xmas. I don't think thats poor service- just a sign of the holiday period. I just had excellent service from ICEtv with a warranty issue- speedy response and action

Humax / Re: DLNA on Humax can't handle large quantities of files
« on: January 13, 2012, 01:51:15 PM »
Confirmed. I just made a test folder and put 4 albums in- and excluded the original folder of music. Works fine. We need either
1/ an adjustment to the network timeout available or
2/ DLNA on the Humax needs speeding up or
3/ Need to know what the maximum file count the Humax can handle

correction. If you use the folders option all files are displayed. I was using all music which has issues

I think I've got a bug. When I connect to my music directory on my PC, the Humax starts to load and eventually drops the connection to my PC. I suspect its the default time out for listing as I have 1900 tracks in the suspect directory

When I connect to the videos directory it works fine- but there are only 300 odd videos

Humax / Recording- channel change
« on: January 13, 2012, 07:12:19 AM »
Just want to be clear this is design and not a bug. If I set a program to record - and I happen to be watching another channel- does the unit change to the recording channel? I know many PVR's do this.

XMLTV (General) / Newbie to Icetv -Timings for xml feed
« on: November 05, 2010, 03:44:54 PM »
I've been using epgstream for my epg source for mediaportal but as the data comes from oztivo its not that reliable- often missing big chunks. On my two week trial of icetv and have a couple of questions before I purchase
1. Why do I have to use a +10 (+11 for AEDT) setting for the xml file? In epgstream you can set the time zone you are in so that the xml data downloaded is ready to go. Having to change is a pain as every time daylight saving starts or finishes I'll have to adjust this?
2. Only one weeks data is available? Or am I not adjusting something?
