Title: Problems with website etc?
Post by: TT33 on May 19, 2015, 12:02:24 PM
Checked the ICETV Guide just now and most of my upcoming scheduled recordings have gone.  When I check the TV Guide they have the grey icon against them "Series Recording (show not included)", even though they are not repeats.

Anyone else have this issue?

Everything was fine yesterday.

Example - Brooklyn Nine-Nine on SBS 2 8pm tonight, was listed to record yesterday, but now has the grey icon against it.

Yes, same thing has happened to recordings set on my Beyonwiz T3.
It has been noticed and several users on the Beyonwiz forums have noted this as well.

Same symptoms as you have seen, series set to record, but particular episodes that match the recording criteria (not repeat etc) are not being flagged to record.

Updating the series recording results in the series recording being removed entirely.

Re-setting the series recording for those shows results in the timers being created correctly.

For example, I had "Good Game", "Good Game SP" and "Good Game Pocket" set as series recordings.

"Good Game" was unaffected.
"Good Game SP" had a greyed out series recording icon next to its next valid instance on Saturday.
"Good Game Pocket" had greyed out series recording icons for all valid episodes this week.

Selecting "Update series on Beyonwiz T3" and selecting the default values resulted in the series recording being deleted.
Re-creating the series recordings queued the episodes up properly.

I have not delved into any more series recordings to see which other ones may be broken.

Yes, same sort of issues here. Started having trouble in the app which told me to do a reset. Now it looks like the series recordings have gone....
Title: Missed recordings - Series recordings greyed out instead of red
Post by: wide_screen on May 19, 2015, 03:16:06 PM
I've also missed some shows due to the IceTV series recordings not programming my Humax 7500T correctly. This started on Sunday Monday even though they have worked for ages. They are all on ABC channels. The programs show up in the IceTV TV Guide as grey instead of red. Being inactive they fail to be sent to the PVR.

I've now deleted the series I want to record over the next five days and reactivated them and despite some issues during this process they now all appear to be active (red) and after manually resending them they are stored in the PVR correctly.

Anyone know how this could happen and is there any way this can be avoided in the future?

This appears to be something that only happened this morning.
Nearly all of my recordings disappeared from the website.
I even had some series recording which I requested to record repeats say that the episodes were not going to be recorded.
It seems it must have been a server side glitch, which they have now corrected.
Everything returned to normal and there was no need to change any recordings.

I just got the following from Dave at IceTV

"We are not sure exactly what happened just yet, but as it has affected a number of customers we are rerunning the process that schedules all of your recordings. Everything will be back to normal in a few hours (in time for tonight's recordings). We are very sorry if you missed any shows last night."

So it sounds like it was an issue from overnight.

All OK for my recordings though.

Yeah...things are looking better now.  Something may have happened at about midnight as shows before then seemed to have recorded ok, but I had set Footy Classified on GEM to record after midnight (12:20am?) and it didn't record.

+1 here, am thinking going to be missing recordings. Not going to be happy.

I reset some recordings but again cleared themselves. Biggest problem is removal from the humax. Lucky not recording anything tonight. This better be fixed tomorrow as do not want to reactivate recordings again.

Same problem here.  IceTV is not only missing some of my recordings -- it actively stopped a couple of recordings which I manually started on my T3.  So we need the following:
*  Fix the problem ASAP tonight.
*  Reinstate all our recordings ASAP tonight.
*  Add at least a couple of days to our subscriptions.
I'm in Sydney, using a Beyonwiz T3.

All my timers are missing in the Beyonwiz and nothing has recorded tonight as a result, not sure about Monday. Also checking the iPhone app and my online account shows nothing ahead in "my week". I'd try resending timers but there are none there to send.

Same issue with my Topfield 2400.

Got home tonight to find 6pm news bulletin and most of my other timers are gone (both on machine and website).

I then got an error trying to re-schedule the programs I'm trying to fix:

Error finding info for series id: 0

This has pretty much wiped out my entire week until Sat 23/5??

I'll keep an eye for updates and log a call with support.

No scheduled recordings were made on my T3 tonight. One recording after 19:30 was made on each of my DP-Lite and DP-P2. In all 2 out of the three recordings that should have been made on the T3 and on one of either the Lite or P2 was made.

My "My week" is showing (from a schedule of about 50 recordings on the T3, with all but a couple duplicated on one of the DPs): one recording all week on the T3, two recordings and two failed recordings on the P2 and no recordings on the Lite.

All of the recordings that should record tomorrow are showing as greyed out in the TV Guide.

I hope that this can be resolved before my recordings start tomorrow!

I didn't notice the problem until I checked just now.  I use Windows Media Centre.  In my case, the problem hasn't been fixed.  Weirdly, Jimmy Fallon on Channel 2 is OK, but that is the only one.  All the others are greyed out

Man, this needs to be fixed fast. Would not mind if it was only the web-site, but clearing recordings on the PVR itself. Definitely want a more formal response rather than "not sure"; especially to a company we are paying money too.

Additionally some form of email communication would be great. Rather than having to come to the forum to see if going insane before knowing that issue effects others.

I just signed up for IceTV yesterday afternoon and set up quite a few series recordings.

Last nights ones recorded and on the app they are all showing up as still being set to record so I'm guessing this only applies to schedules set up before the website problems arose.

This post is not to downplay the problems but more of a bit more info that may help IceTV track down problems, just in case they look at this thread.

Although all seemed to be restored yesterday, it still seems to be happening this morning.
It seems that there is a process that goes though gradually restoring the timers that are set up as series.
But you still have to manually restore any one off timers.
Until the problem appears to have settled down, I think Ill at least be setting the one offs on my PVR.

Is what I'm seeing caused by the same problem. On one TF7100HDPVRt Plus and one TRF-2400 about two thirds of the timers are missing. As the other two appeared to be OK, I did a service reset. Now despite successfully logging in both have no EPG data and no Timers, despite my instructing timers to be reset. The instruction to resend timers times-out; FireFox gives the following error:

Database error: Lock wait timeout exceeded; try restarting transaction

Yep. I'd happily just delete them but I don't want to cause more mess in case the whole thing is in flux still. This has made me realise how much I rely on iceTV, I don't even know what night or channel things are on these days. Now I'm scratching my head trying to work out what I've missed or if everything else is there :-)

Hi, I think my problems are related to this thread.  All of my weeks recordings have just been given the yellow flag of death, when they were scheduled just fine earlier today.  I have had one or two issues the last 2 days, but nothing like this.  I have also noticed the website looking a bit strange.  Is there some sort of implosion happening over at Ice HQ?  It can't be my device, can it?

I can confirm that this happened because we were switching our legacy system over to our new generation system, which is what caused the issues.

Not quite normal for me. I've ended up with a bunch of "There was an error scheduling this show" warnings on my two Beyonwiz DPs on shows that were actually scheduled successfully. 9 out of the 11 recordings that have been scheduled on my DP-Lite have this warning.

Given the fragile state of things at the moment, I think I'll leave them as-is.

Interestingly, I didn't get emails about the most recent failures to record. That was a "feature (http://forum.icetv.com.au/iceforum/smart-recording-website-and-general-questions/35/beyonwiz-t3-and-email-notification-of-failed-timers/4474/)" of the new-generation IceTV server when it was serving only Beyonwiz T3s. Now it looks like everyone will have the benefit of the "feature".

I did in fact get an email with warnings about the recording failures.

I had to re-send twice to get scheduled recordings back on my BW. and it looks as if I will have to schedule my Topfield manually as a re-schedule has not worked. Once I have done that, hopefully everything will settle back to normal.

And everything should be to normal now.
Maybe your end, but it looks like headless chook time out in PVR land!

I had similar problems on my Beyonwiz DP-Lite and DP-P2, but a clear timers/resend all timers seems to have fixed it.

I seemed fortunate. After deleting the number of unrequested extra timers for Wednesday night, and then recreating legitimate times that were deleted as well I then fired the Wiz P1 up around 4pm and all the timers loaded in correctly. I did not have to resend all timers and I'm not seeing any conflicts. I did get a reply from support where I was told to expect conflicts reported in the app and online for a few days but they should be ignored.
Title: Re: Problems with website etc?

As a suggestion to IceTV. Better that users expect a problem and don't see it than get an unexpected issue with not a lot of communication on it, initially. I suspected a major structural change was behind it and so it was. Warn us next time and at least customers will be prepared in case there is an issue.
Title: Re: Problems with website etc?

... I was told [by IceTV support] to expect conflicts reported in the app and online for a few days but they should be ignored.

I disagree about ignoring them. It can be up to 5 days, if there were errors in the furthest-off scheduled recordings, and the presence of the conflicts prevents IceTV from sending updates to the "conflicted, but actually not conflicted" timers. The fact that these timers no longer match the times in the IceTV EPG database also means that you can get shows flagged on the IceTV Web as recording that don't actually have a recording set for them. They appear because the old timer on the PVR can now overlap with adjoining shows, and make the Web page flag them as being recorded.

This morning I successfully cleared and resent all the timers on my DP-Lite and DP-P2 and got rid of all the conflicts.

That worked for me as well yesterday, but I am having more trouble with the Topfield. Half the time I cannot get a successful connection with the Ice server. For example it just took about 10 minutes to connect to the Ice server after power on from standby, and if it doesn't connect straight away then the EPG stays blank until the next EPG update (about an hour) and no chance of transfer of scheduled timers.

Maybe just a matter of waiting until server load or capacity is back to normal.
Title: Re: Problems with website etc?

Hi guys,

The advice IceTV Support has given to any individual customer may relate only to that customer's recorder or the state of their schedules. Different recorders can need different solutions.
Basically, if all of your shows are scheduled correctly on your recorder you don't need to do anything. Any false errors on the website and phone app will clear themselves out within 5 few days.

But if you do have some schedules missing, on your recorder, the best solution depends on how many are missing.
The steps for option 2 vary from simple to complicated depending on the recorder.
In all cases, check the schedules that are actually on your recorder. If there are any extra or unwanted schedules on your recorder you can just delete those off the recorder itself.

To the good people at IceTV:  We've all paid for a service which we didn't receive for 2 days.  Please extend our subscriptions by at least 2 days.  Also, please send out an email explaining what happened.  It's likely that most of your subscribers haven't visited this forum, and are wondering why some of their recordings are missing.

It has been going on for too long.
Now I can't manually set recordings as I get "same event is already scheduled"
So it is a Russian roulette what records & what doesn't.
Doing a full channel reset every time you want to add or remove a recording is just ridiculous.
At least you can notify users about a problem & expected fix date.
Not everyone visits forums.

Mine seems to have stabilised (I hope I am not speaking too soon) - recording seem to be "sticking" and not reporting errors
In the end I ended up deleting the troublesome series (it was a small minority of my overall recordings) and rescheduling them
It has not been an enjoyable 3-4 days - WAF is low
Fingers crossed

What brand and model PVR are you using? I get this regularly when I try to schedule a program on LCN21 when it is already scheduled on LCN2 (ABC). Similar issues with other sercices with multiple LCN (Seven: 7, 70, 71; One: 1, 12; SBS 1 (3, 33, 30). This is standard behaviour with Topfield PVRs.

Hey Guys,

Sorry again for the inconvenience - the problem from the server switchover that Daniel explained has been resolved, so all should be back to normal - Essentially if you haven't tried to correct any of the problems over the last few days the scheduling notifications will be back to normal again from Tuesday when those timers that were set after the server changeover become current.

Flyeroz - yes we will put out an email to everyone explaining what has happened.. If your timers are set on your PVR then you can ignore those messages until Tuesday, as explained above. If however you wish to clear everything up right now, you can factory reset your Device (without saving settings), and then once up and running again simply resend all recordings from the website and within an hour they should all be there again and back to business as usual. Let me know if you need a hand with this. Sounds like you might be using a Topfield, if so you can check this page out: http://support.icetv.com.au/entries/20177028-how-do-i-clear-out-the-cached-guide-and-force-an-upd

Digmans - Yes thats a good suggestion - I will put it into the good people that make those decisions!

bodogbodog - Glad to hear things are working again on your side.

Doing a full channel reset every time you want to add or remove a recording is just ridiculous.
With your Topfield, you would only need to reset the channel list once (after last Wednesday - if you did it before Wednesday night you would need to do again, once more). Deleting the channels is only required because the Topfield has no other way to delete reservations without the Topfield then refusing to set those deleted reservations again when resent from IceTV.

If you are in an area that can receive TV signals from multiple transmitters and your Topfield finds duplicate channels, or regional and city channels, you should do a manual search for each of the 5 or 6 TV network channels so the Topfield only finds the one set of channels.

With other recorders you can clear or delete the timers (schedules), wait until after the recorder has done it's next download (wait over an hour to be safe), then resend all recordings from My Recorders in My Account on the website.

I'm using Topfield TRF2400.

IanL-S - it's not an issue with LCN's . I selected the correct LCN for each channel.

Leon Kowalski - "If your timers are set on your PVR then you can ignore those message" - that's the problem - the timers were set, but not recording. Deleting them from the recorder & fetching again did not fix the problem. Removing the recording from my "My Week/Manage Shows" removes them from the list, but then, despite nothing showing in "Reservation" I get  "same event is already scheduled".
One or two times I was able to manually set the recording from Topfield itself it still did not record.
The only solution is to clear out the cached guide and force an update. But even this fails occasionally.

This morning was the first time in about 5~6 days the reservations worked fine.
Hopefully it will be OK, but still it would be nice to get an email stating there are some issues from IceTV end.

We dropped the ball by not informing customers of this issue. Sorry about that. We have learnt from our mistakes and intend setting up processes to alert all customers of possible issues in future. I want customers to be able to find and receive status information via various medium so anyone who doesn't visit the forums or twitter or facebook pages etc. will still be informed or be able to find the information they need.

I'm using Topfield TRF2400.
FYI, I have a 7100HDPlus which is essentially the same as a 2400. I was still missing some of my recordings by Thu last week and I could not add them manually by deleting/re-adding etc. So I followed the procedure at http://support.icetv.com.au/entries/22468327-How-do-I-clear-out-the-cached-guide-and-reservations-and-force-an-update-without-a-factory-reset- which fixed all my issues. That just requires a rescan of your service list and to re-add your ice account, not a factory reset which I was loathe to do.

IanL-S - it's not an issue with LCN's . I selected the correct LCN for each channel.

I have not had this sort of problem. Occasionally my Toppys (2 x 2400 and 2 x 7100+) refuse to accept manual timers, and if I check the timer listing new timers are not downloading. I suspect this may have something to do with my manually combining timers and/or changing LCNs when I have consecutive timers on the same LCN (eg change from LCN 2 to LCN 21, or LCN 7 to LCN 70). To fix the problem, I have to do a service reset and new service scan. Then resend timers via the IceTV www site.

Update: There is a 'bug' in the Topfield firmware that will sometimes not let you reschedule a previously deleted timer. While the timer does not appear in the timer listing it is still listed as scheduled by the firmware. I suspect it is something to do with the the ram not being properly flushed. Such 'timers' do not record.

FLyeroz - The Timers are linked to the LCN's on the Topfields, so re-scanning them in deletes all the timers attached, and then you can resend the recordings from IceTV and they will attach.

Markb - Occasionally there will arise a phantom timer that does not appear in the timer list (as Ian-L is saying) , in which case the fail-proof way to clear out all timers is to factory reset. Which is not as painful as it sounds - it essentially just add's the step of re-connecting to your network again before scanning in the channels and logging into IceTV.

Most of the time you can simply erase the timers from the timer list on the Topfield, wait 40 mins to make sure the sync between IceTV and the Topfield is up to date, and then re-send them. However in the event of a "phantom" timer blocking the re-sent timers, it's best to perform the reset as above.

Thanks Leon. It's a pain to have to re-scan all services when only one or two of all timers are not working. Worse of all sometimes they will work, sometimes they will not. When I'm away this is too much of a hassle for my wife to do.
I did a reset last night & one timer did not go off again today. Will see if the same thing happens tomorrow. Otherwise will have to do factory reset, just to be sure.

- that should work in theory, but it sometimes it doesn't.

My Toppy 2400 has stabilised now as well. In the future a precautionary email advising that there may be problems etc might avoid people missing recordings.

I find that a simple deletion of all the timers and then a resend works every time.

BUT....you must disconnect from the network for this to work properly.

I use the following steps:

The logic behind this procedure is avoiding ICTV seeing that you have deleted a timer as it interprets that as you no longer wanting to record that particular program and deletes (no longer sends) the timer(s) for it from its data base. When you send the Resend command, it assumes that you have lost all your timers and doesn't query the Toppy to check for deletion of existing timers.

This problem seems to have reappeared for me today.  All of my reservations for the next 6 days are showing as greyed out, though next Monday's reservations appear to be correct.

The problem started with tonight's episode of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, which was showing as greyed (despite being a new episode).  I tried scheduling it as a single episode, but it still showed up as grey.  Now all of my timers for the next 6 days have the same problem.

To the Admins - can you please send us an email when IceTV is having major system problems like these, partly to alert us to the problem (allowing us to put manual workarounds in place) and partly so that we know you're aware of it and are working to solve the problem.  This is a standard operating procedure with most companies and I don't know why IceTV should be any different.

I have only just noticed this issue as of today. Some timers are showing that they are set up and ready to record however other random timers are greyed out. I get the message saying "This show is part of a series recording but will not be recorded." but this is not a repeat episode.

I will check the PVR when I get home from work but suspect that some of our shows may not have recorded over the last few days if this has been happening since the 20th.

Any updates on this issue, will re-sending all timers to the PVR sort it? We have a Beyonwiz DP-Lite.

Same here - most recordings (series) are showing as not to be recorded (TRF2400 and TF7100HDPVRt).

Glad I checked the Forum or a would be in really bad trouble with this.

Again all my timers for the rest of the week have gone.  Luckily I checked today and got home early enough to save tonight;s recordings of news and ACA.

It's prob worth logging another call with ICE so they have it logged in their system.

It would be nice to have some sort of status notification on top of their page.

Most of my timers for tonight are gone on 2 of 3 IceTV boxes.

No timers on my T3 from Wed-Friday, then incomplete on Saturday and empty on Sunday; Monday's timers look OK.

On my DP-Lite, incomplete on Wed, then nothing through to Saturday; Sunday and Monday look OK.

On the DP-P2, things look OK so far, but there are a lot of recordings showing as Queued Series Recordings when they should be showing as set.

Pretty disappointing.

Everything from Sunday on appears to be ok but anything between now and then is missing :(
I suppose I'll set a manual recording on my media centre to cover tonight's stuff if only I could remember what is actually on that I need to record, that's the problem when you rely so heavily on icetv you have no clue what day or time stuff airs :)

Given that two are for tonight just when is the "remedy" to be implemented by IceTV?
If I leave it as it is I suspect they're not going to record and WAF will be impacted  :(

Not much consolation to those people with PVR's, but Iam running 3 EyeTv Diversity sticks on 2 macs, giving me 6 tuners of simultaneous recording, all with thier own padding.
I have been having the same problem over the past 2 weeks but when the glitch was "fixed" last week I was able to do a fetch on both macs to get schedules for this week.
Because I only do manual fetches, my schedules are all still there but with the website problem returning yesterday, I have no idea of any changes to them , nor am I able to do any more fetches without icetv deleting those that are there.
FIX IT.

Same here with the Topfield. The Beyonwiz *looks* OK.

There is one series with the Toppy that should be red, but is grey, and I can neither update it to red or delete and re-enable. It stays stubbornly grey.

My suggested solution, at least for this week, is to start up the PVR, let IceTV delete the (already set) timer on the PVR (if that is what the server wants to do) then reset it manually. Fortunately I don't have a WAF to worry about or I would be sweating a lot more.

I received the 'warning' email at least an hour AFTER I noticed and manually fixed the missed recordings on my Toppy 2400.
I then checked the scheduled recordings on my 3 x Beyonwiz and, at first, the series recordings seemed to be intact. I then watched them disappear before my eyes as the Wiz made contact with IceTV.
I've re-set the missing timers manually on the boxes. Haven't changed anything at the website. Hopefully IceTV will be back working properly and pick up my future series recordings without more input required from me.
It's frustrating that this service has worked almost flawlessly for years. If the new server is the same as the one used for the Beyonwiz T3, failures were predictable as there seem to be problems there.
I also wonder if the changes have something to do with how IceTV communicates with Skippa????

Got theemail that all is fixed...won't happen again,.. it isn't.
"my week" is still mainly blank for the week.
I too wonder if this has to do with "Skippa" interaction processes being introduced.
I've had years of hassle free service from icetv, now nothing but trouble.

There was a comment made about the problems being something to do with moving to a new platform (cannot rember if it was hardware of software). Both could be 'triggered' by the forthcoming introduction of the Skippa.

I still had several mising timers on various Toppys - some of whicxh I did not pick up for quite some time.

I, too, have the email saying that it's all fixed, but most of my recordings are missing from the Web page for two of the three PVRS. The DP-P2, which didn't seem to be affected much at all seems OK now. The T3 and DP-P2 are missing several days recordings on both the Web My Week and on the recorders.

I guess I'll have to call support in the morning.

A ton of my series recordings still don't even show up in the my week list.

Tonight I've factory reset both my PVR's and the my week on the website and iPad/iPhone app is still stuffed.

This is seriously unacceptable, we're paying for a set and forget service and I seriously don't have the time to manage what shows are missing out if the numerous series recordings I have set.

Last week I updated every series recording via the iPad app to bring them back, there is no way I'm doing that again, and treated it as a one off glitch, now I find random recordings for the previous week that I resent and checked the timers on were not recorded and this week is looking the same.

Wife just doesn't understand nor have the time to check timers and doesn't like having to resort to degraded quality catchup TV with ads.  This current problem defeats the purpose of having iceTV.

Still no recordings scheduled for me either.  Beyonwiz T3 with October 2014 firmware, one of two recorders registered to IceTV.  (The other recorder is turned off, soft-decommissioned.)  Melbourne region, five things expected to record tonight, but no red doughnuts on My Week for the rest of the week.

I raised a support request early this morning and alerted their Twitter account.  If they don't know by now that their fix isn't a fix, there's no hope for any of us.

During the day, the timers on my Beyonwiz DP-Lite reappeared in My Week on my IceTV Web pages. So now my DP-Lite and DP-P2 now appear to be OK.

However, my Beyonwiz T3's schedule is still a complete mess. I have one queued series recording showing for this afternoon/tonight (there should be 9). Then nothing until Saturday (should be 8 shows on Thursday and 6 on Friday), where there's a queued single show (movie), but there should be 11 shows. Then nothing on Sunday (should be 6 shows), and from Monday on, it seems OK. Shows that are supposed to record are listed in My Guide, but they're greyed out and carry the very informative message "This show is part of a series recording but will not be recorded."

I called IceTV support, and I got put through pretty much straight away to a recording telling me to leave a message with my name, phone number and email address and IceTV would get back to me. I won't hold my breath.

Quote from: IceTV email Service Restored, 20:00 26/5/15
We are pleased to let you know that we have resolved the issue of cancelled scheduled recordings.

Perhaps that was a little premature.

Probably not surprisingly, resending all recordings as suggested (for "all other devices", including the T3) in the email did nothing, since the problem seems to be that the server thinks that certain programs shouldn't be sent at all.

Guys/Gals,
I just checked and the few recordings which were missing post the resolution yesterday have now appeared and have been sent to my recorder.
Check again if you still have missing recording.
So far, I have done nothing to my recorder or the scheduled recordings as per IceTV's suggestion.

I spent a couple of hours very early this morning factory resetting both my 7100 and my 2460 and initiated the resend all recordings and have done nothing since other than set recordings on my 2460 manually for shows that are not appearing on the website and app my list section (just manually set timers for tonight only)

My list isn't empty but there is a lot of shows missing that when searching in the epg have grey series record next to them and I know they are not repeats and should be recorded.

I haven't touched the actual PVR.  The only interaction I've had with my account is to press "re-send recordings" from the web interface, some time after last night's "all's well" email, following the troubleshooting page they included in the email.  No manual scheduling of individual shows of any kind.

I've given IceTV a list of shows I expect to record tonight and I'm leaving them to do forensic analysis on why their fix hasn't worked for me.  The less interference from me the better.

Edit 4:47 pm: Red doughnuts have appeared.  No word from support on what they did, so I can't speak for whether this was a general fix or specific to me.

I didn't touch anything even resending an individual show or resending everything. I also informed them of one show for tonight which my wife will kill me if we miss it.
As I hoped, I can now see it, and another 3 shows which were missing, have now been scheduled.
So all I did was whine and complain.  Well really, I just left multiple voice messages, emails and any other mechanism to communicate with them.

Just did my evening check of timers on my 4 IceTV enabled Toppys. There was at least one timer missing on each.

There were two instances of Madam Secretary and Law + Order SVU not scheduled (domestic harmony at risk here), plus 2 instances of TopGear. On on 2400 most of the timers that should have been scheduled for Thursday were missing; on the other there were several missing. (In some cases the missing timers may be due to the Toppy firmware bug when commencement timer of consecutive timers on same LCN are updated. However, in several cases no consecutive timers involved.) Subsequent checking disclosed that most of the missing timers were not listed as 'activated' on MyWeek.

So, there still seems to be issues out there.

Ian

PS One 2400, the one with most missing timers, is behaving erratically - it may be on its last legs. It is 5 years old and has had a hard life. Keeps on deciding not to respond to the RCU and other naughtinesses.

Also received  "Service Impact Notification" yesterday - sending that info after a week of issues was a total waste of time. How about notifying us when the problems are in progress, especially since the first posts in this thread were made on May 19.
Do you have any idea when the issues will be definitely resolved?
Well I got an absolutely useless response via email from Leon stating he'd resent my recordings and not much else. This was even after stating some of the shows that were missing and still don't appear on my pvr or under My Week section. In essence he did nothing from what I can see.

Given the response he doesn't seem to understand that there are shows completely missing from the My Week section.

I'm sick of explaining the issue and can't be bothered wasting any more of what little free time I have these days to resolve their stuff up.

This is time consuming trying to work out on a daily basis what's meant to be recorded and what's not with so many series recordings.

I agree with Vortical - resending timers will not solve the problem if the timers are not in the listing. I have checked my archive of MyWeek and it is clear that on all devices scheduled recording has disappeared completely and some changed from red to grey icons. The solution is to rebuild t MyWeek by a new rescanning the data base.

Ian

I am getting rather peeved with this - time for IceTV to go back to the old platform?

At some stage last night, mine appears to be back to normal.

Hopefully it stays that way.

All recordings should have been back to normal by Wednesday night, or last night for a few Topfield PVRs.

Everyone's recorders are still using the original, reliable, system that they've been using for years. The problems on Tuesday and last week were caused externally. We have now been able to reproduce the issue on our test server and made and tested a change to prevent it happening again.

Tuesday afternoon, after the issue was resolved and the affected schedules were resent, we noticed some Topfields and some Beyonwiz T3 PVRs were left in a state where they were not able to automatically set some of the re-sent schedules until further action was taken by IceTV, late Wednesday afternoon.

If anyone is still having an issue please email Technical support (http://www.icetv.com.au/cgi-bin/webpage.cgi?op=show_contact) and include your IceTV Member ID (username) in the email.

Dave,

So why were shows missing in peoples My Week section on the website and iphone/ipad app?
This would have nothing to do with the pvr's.

In any case thanks for the explanation and I'm sure we all hope this never happens again.

My Week reflects what is in their IceTV account on the IceTV server. If their recorder is in sync with the server then the recorder should list the same schedules that have a solid red icon in My Week. Early last week and this week some recorders became partially out of sync with My Week.

As long as the timers are correctly showing on the recorder they can ignore any discrepancies in My Week- which will pass in a few days.

In any case thanks for the explanation and I'm sure we all hope this never happens again.

Fester's issues appear to be phantom schedules in My Week that comes from timers on the recorder overlapping into the preceding or following timeslot in the guide.

Those phantom single recording schedules in My Week should not be extra timers on the T3. The real schedules following those single phantom schedules would be set to start early so they overlap into the preceding timeslot making the show before the real schedules appear as if it is also scheduled.

Because they are not real schedules in My Week you cannot delete them in My Week, or if you can they would just reappear the next time the T3 syncs.

If you cancel the real series schedules that are following those phantom single schedules on the same channel, then both the real schedules and phantom single schedules will vanish. Then when you recreate the real schedule the phantom schedules will still be gone.

Just cancel the following episode, then do a fetch from the IceTV plugin on the T3, next set those cancelled episodes to record again and do another fetch on the T3.

Another problem. It seems that the curse of Tuesday may be on again next week - three Tuesdays in a row!??
My wife's series recording of Bold and Beautiful is not showing for next Tuesday on the Toppy 2400 - it displays a hollow series donut on the website. This despite both Monday and Wednesday showing properly.

The schedule for Tuesday's episode was downloaded by your Topfield, yesterday at 4:52pm, but it either has not set it or has not replied back to say it has reserved it. Thursday's episode is the same. It was downloaded by your Topfield today at 4:37pm.

Wednesday's episode was the last one it downloaded and replied back correctly for, at 4:37pm yesterday (15 minutes before it downloaded Tuesday's).

It wouldn't normally fetch Tuesday's only 4 days ahead (and 15 minutes after fetching Wednesday's) unless someone or something had changed the series or resent Tuesday's schedule. If you did edit the series or resend Tuesday's schedule then what you are seeing with the Topfield ignoring schedules that it thinks it already has is normal.

I have set a single recording for those 2 episodes which normally gets around a Topfield ignoring schedules, but your Topfield has not updated in the last 50 minutes (which would be normal if you've turned it off).

I have 6 single phantom recordings in my weekly schedule with no overlapping timers either proceeding or following. I have deleted them once already (from my phone if I remember correctly)but they have returned..

Also a series recording for the Simpsons first-runs would not schedule, so I rescheduled and Ice created timers for all episodes immedaiately in the app but they have all disappeared again. Same with "Mr Selfridge".

I just thought that i would add; these relate to my Beyonwiz T3. My Humax timer list appears to be ok, but I do have fewer scheduled shows on that device.

OK another edit... I have just checked the timer list on my T3 (should have done that before posting) and my timers appear as I expect them to, not as indicated by the website/app. I'll keep my fingers crossed that they stay there and fire off.

Thanks Dave. I turned the Toppy on this morning and it downloaded those timers you sent - all good now.
Not sure what happened - I did some 'repairs' after last week's 'problem' but I can't think how that would have affected Tuesday's timer and not Wednesday's. I DARE NOT miss a B&B ::) ::)

Mine were OK, but I just noticed that the times are now not correct on the T3, might be worth checking yours.
I have now deleted all scheduled recordings and gone to autotimer until this mess is sorted.

Everything appears to now be correct on my T3 timer list, phone app and web page list.
