Title: PIMP Series Recordings
Post by: philzgr8 on July 19, 2006, 08:00:36 AM
Having installed PIMP this morning and playing with it after arriving at work I'm really pleased with it. One question I have though is does PIMP support series recordings? I haven't seen anything at this stage to indicate it does but I may well have missed that option.

Not supported yet.. it's certainly on our to-do list.

Not sure yet whether we would support something special to use the MCE native series recording or do the logic at the server and send out individual on-offs.

Any input welcomed.

Thanks Peter, Personally I would prefer something that integrates with MCE's native functionality. However flawed MCE is it would concern me to have two disctinct systems automatically scheduling programs.

P.S. Actually, with the benefit of some time to think about this I'm not sure third party scheduling would be such a bad thing. There's no real reason why you'd need to set up schedules in MCE and we all know that MCE can get a bit screwed up from time to time with series schedules. What is worth remembering is that unless you're planning to jump on to Vista in a hurry there will be no further functionality enhancements for MCE so having something like this might allow more time for moving to Vista while the bleeding edgers bed it down.
