Title: New Channel for Seven Announced
Post by: marcusstringer on August 19, 2010, 12:50:21 PM
Are you guys ready for this come September 25:
I'm assuming it will be like any new channel and will take around a week or so to get the guide listings?

7mate will be seen on channel 73 on an HD capable digital TV, PVR or set top box. If you have an analogue TV you will need to connect your old TV to an HD capable digital set top box, PVR, or digital recorder and tune in to channel 73.

Looks like 7HD is getting the chop (I wondered where the bits were going to be stolen from).

Yeah, that is disappointing, after all the hoopla advertising about true HD stations...
It's boggles the mind how program directors for these stations have no idea about content.

They must get pestered every time they go out about Why they continue to show Two and a Half men/Simpsons every chance they get.
I know they get good ratings.
But I just wish they would have the balls to show episodes in order from start to finish without repeating mid season.

Yep, we saw this one this morning as well.

As with all new channel launches it will generally take about 2 weeks from after the channel begins.

The replacement would be HD (they have to have a HD service) and the same native HD quota will apply, though the quota is laughably small (less than three hours/day). Most broadcasters are currently doing around double their quota.
