Title: IceTV EPG Vs Beyonwiz EPG Override - Correction
Post by: afs on January 12, 2009, 05:06:54 PM
Hello,

Sorry, I probably did not state this correctly by using the word "pad".

Perhaps this will state it better:

1) I schedule a program using IceTV
2) On my Beyonwiz I extend the actual program time by 30 minutes.

Question, will the extra 30 minutes remain fixed in place or does IceTV override the time extension at some point.

Thank You

The Beyonwiz pre/post padding is a "soft" padding, i.e. it doesn't add the time to the timers, but instead for ALL timers, will (try) to honour the padding time setup.   So ICE vs EPG vs setting from the timer setup screen makes no difference.   The padding is not shown on the timer, it instead "fires it up early" and "records for the post padding extra" on any timer.
Regards

I read the OP as changing the duration of the timer, but perhaps the question is about padding.

afs, what version Beyonwiz firmware are you running (SETUP>System>Firmware>Firmware Version)? Is it one that supports automatic padding (what tonymy01's referring to)? Are their padding options in SETUP>Miscellaneous>Preference?

They add padding automatically to all timers except instant recordings, and as tonymy01 said, the padding doesn't affect IceTV programming. There's a FAQ about padding (http://www.beyonwiz.com.au/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?p=32126#32126) in the Beyonwiz forum.
