The Icebox (aka ASUS WL500GP) has 3 types of network addresses

  • WAN port
  • LAN ports - wired
  • LAN port - WiFi

If I set the Network interface to fixed IP, which of these becomes the set address?

2nd question:

I can't get WPA2 to work. Is the pre-shared key in hex, or is it a normal text string? If HEX, then how many digits?

Thnx in advance,

dencar

I asked this on the Topfield forum, I think, and the response was to use a small key; 8 digits seems to work for everyone. I used an application called WEPKeyGenerator to make mine. HTH

Hi pszilard

here is my take on question 1:

WAN port remains a DHCP port for recovery purposes
All other ports will be able to access the web interface of the icebox as your fixed address

As a general rule i think that the icebox2 prefers to be configured as DHCP
