Hi grumpy_geoff,

I have just had a look at your account and it looks like 10, 10 Bold, 10 Peach and 10 Shake are all set to 'Disabled', this would stop the guide data from being downloaded and would stop the guide data from showing up on the IceTV website or apps.

This can be changed from the "Guide Settings" page under the "My Account" section of the IceTV website.
Regards,

Daniel.

Thanks.

I never disabled them, that's for sure!

grumpy_geoff

It must have been a recent "Guide Settings" change, as I've a timer for Masterchef for Thursday.  Sent from IceTV 2021-06-26 00:12:55

I had a similar thing happen a few weeks back - a T2 or V2. The unit was having all sorts of problems, and was refusing to recognise ABC LCNs. Somehow the account settings were changed (without my intervention) to disabel all of them. Not sure if that is supposed to happen. However, nothing to suggest you had a similar situation.

Similar, but in my case 10HD was left enabled (on LCN 15 as I had set it).
I already had 10 disabled, but "somehow" Bold, Peach & Shake changed to become disabled.

Daniel Hall at IceTV

I have had a look back through on this one.

In the latest plugin on the Beyonwiz DVB triplet information is sent to the IceTV server the plugin is setup and scanned channels have been matched to IceTV channels, if a channel is missing from that scan then it gets disabled on your account automatically.

It looks like this is what happened in this instance, on the 18/6/2021 there was a list sent up that had 8 channels less than other channel lists, and this caused those channels to be disabled.

Daniel, that is consistent with what I saw. Would it be possible for an email alert to be sent to the user when this happens?

Thanks, but that makes even less sense - 10HD wasn't disabled.  TEN has 8 services, if the scan result sent to IceTV contained contained 8 less services than there should be, why was 10HD still enabled if it "wasn't found"?
Here's the snippet of TEN Perth from the _last_ scan that was done on the 18th, you can clearly see all of TEN's services were found -

More likely, is that a prior scan didn't detect TEN Perth at the time, with the result being only 4 providers were sent to IceTV, and IceTV then subsequently disabled the "ALL" services of TEN Perth (leaving the specifically set 10HD/LCN 15 still enabled).
A subsequent scan, which found all 5 providers, didn't result in IceTV re-enabling the TEN Perth services.
Not a great end-user result.

The scan info sent to IceTV is a list of services, not of providers, though if a scan fails to find usable signal on to a frequency, all the services of that provider will be dropped from the scan table.

The scan info is sent to IceTV after a login to IceTV (fetching an access token), and after each scan.

It appears the IceTV server isn't programmed to enable services.
But the shocker is IceTV silently disabling services.

Agreed.

The situation is complicated if you have a combination of Toppys and Beyonwiz on the same account. Due to firmware limitations the Toppy can go into a reboot loop if all EPG data on LCNs is being sent from the IceTV server. To prevent this you have to disable a significant number of LCN's (I disable standard defintion LCN if there is a corresponding high definition LCN, and all duplicate LCNs). So activating all LCNs on the reinstated channel(s) could result in the Toppys will going into a rebooting loop.

I got bitten by this one today. I did some scans that didn't pick up some channels on one of my test machines (which has an indoor antenna, and poor reception), and it disabled a bunch of services in IceTV.
