Thanks for the "heads up" on the program for Sunday night, which was
also listed in the (Hobart) Sunday Mercury TV Guide, published & sold
yesterday, for 9:30 pm viewing.
Unfortunately, the program was NOT on, but was replaced with another
program, without explanation!
Now if ICETV alone had said the program would be on, but it was not in
the Mercury TV guide, I would not have been surprised, nor if the
Mercury TV guide only indicated the program time and not ICETV would I
have been surprised.
However, to be told by both sources that the program would be shown and
then to be disappointed, is another matter.  Such a situation begins to
erode the credibility of both ICETV and that of the Mercury TV guide,
leading to viewers losing interest in both sources of information.

It sometimes just happens. Usually IceTV will do a sweep of late changes in the published EPGs and do an update early to mid afternoon (usually about 2pm).

But not all such changes get caught.

One that probably should have been caught is that this afternoon, the IceTV EPG for Prime7 & Prime7 HD for Canberra showed Day 5 of the Australia vs Pakistan Cricket Test during the whole afternoon, even though the test completed yesterday, and the channel appeared to have returned to normal weekday afternoon programming.

The program schedule is often tossed out the window on "breaking news" days, like during the recent (and continuing) bushfires. The printed guides will definitely be wrong, and IceTV will often be caught on the hop. Even the broadcasters' own EPGs are sometimes out as the schedule gets taken over by the news event.

Hi speedprj2 and prl,

Many thanks for your notes.

speedprj2 -  You're correct in the fact that we had highlighted 'The Boeing 737 Max: What Went Wrong' documentary in our IcePicks newsletter that was distributed on Friday morning. However, unfortunately it was pulled from the schedule on Saturday morning and during our early morning checks, the guide team updated the schedule. As you can appreciate, this is a network issue not an IceTV decision but was updated by our team during our checking process.

prl - Thanks for your note regarding the Cricket. Unfortunately, this was missed across the whole of Australia as during checks this morning, all guides and EIT information still had the Cricket scheduled. I will speak to the team about keeping an eye on the last day of a test match and perhaps we can schedule TBAs in its place when this occurs. Hopefully, it was just 'filler' content scheduled in its place.

Have a lovely evening,

Tiphanee

Thanks, Tiphanee.

It looked like Prime7 just broadcast their normal weekday schedule today.
