RBT is a single 1-hour episodes, not two half-hour episodes

The IceTV EPG has been scheduling two consecutive 30min slots for RBT (it's not currently running), with the first slot marked as first run and the second marked as a repeat, but the broadcast is actually a single 60min slot. The contents may well be a mix of new and recycled material, but there's only one "what happened to them" segment at the end of the 60min slot, and it refers back to all the incidents in the full 60min.

Treating it as two 30min shows with the second one a repeat really doesn't reflect what's in the broadcast.

Hi there Adrian -

The episodes that are currently being screened on 9Go, are being scheduled on the guides as a 1 hour episode repeat, however they are two separate episodes. For instance, the ones appearing on 22 July are Chicken Catcher and The Carer which both aired in 2018. Unfortunately, if we create a 1 hour episode Chicken Catcher/The Carer it could cause issues with a team member incorrectly marking it as a new episode.

There are some new episodes being screened tomorrow evening on 9 in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne and Tasmania which have no ep names at this stage. The NRL states are playing Thursday Night Footy and Golden Point at the same time.

Cheers,

Tiphanee

That's just what I meant. RBT is being shown as single 1-hour episodes with what looks like a mix of new and old material. It's definitely not being shown as two distinct half-hour episodes, one new and one repeated (which would be a bit more honest).

These shows already contain lots of repeated material within the show to stretch it out(apparently they think the memory span of their viewers is shorter than the length of an ad break). Mixing recycled stuff with new material is really IMO showing a deal of contempt for their audience.

RBT is back, on 9 Canberra and 9 HD Canberra (19:30-20:30 Thursdays), and IceTV is again treating what is packaged as a single 1-hour episode as two half-hour episodes. Last night (26 Sep) the first was marked as as first run (Mini Moke Blokes) and the second as a repeat (Elliot's Brother) (19:30 & 20:00 Thu 26 Sep).

Yesterday's show (26 Sep) seemed to be new material for the full hour, or for at least for the part of the second "episode" that was caught by our 25-min post-padding.

Next week (3 Oct) the IceGuide shows both "episodes" as first run, but the show really is packaged as a single 1-hour episode. yourtv.com.au's EPG shows both the 26 Sep and 3 Oct RBT programs as a single 1-hour episode. Nine's TV guide points to YourTV.

Also, IceTV is naming the Oct 3 19:30 episode as "Child's Seat", that may be right, but a child's car seat was the subject of one of the stories in the RBT shown last night (26 Sep).

I see that while the Thursday's RBT is showing as two first run episodes, Friday's RBT has been merged into a single 1-hour episode.

Thanks :)

Hi PRL,

Many thanks for your note. I've now corrected the episodes to be 1 x hour.

The change should be reflected on the guide in the next 15 minutes.

Have a lovely day,

Tiphanee
