now have icebox 2 want to download recordings from toppy via icebox 2 can get to file manager but can't select a file any help ???

In order to download files over 6MB in size from the Topfield using the icebox2 you will need to use an FTP program.

We have had great success in the past using a program called SmartFTP for windows (more information can be found at http://www.smartftp.com/)

Basically when it asks for the server address to connect to just put in the IP address of the icebox2 and when connected you should see the files that are on the Topfield hard drive, from here you can right-click on the file and select download to copy the file to your computer.

Good advice, another way to do this is using TEDS which has Trecx - this gives a simpler interface including automating file transfers from the toppy -> PC.   Have a browse on the Topfield forum, you may decide it's worth the small outlay to have the ease of use it offers. 

It's worth also keeping SmartFTP, or even FireFTP (Firefox now has an ftp extension/add-on you can download which looks like it might be OK) as these will be needed if you want to transfer things from PC -> toppy more easily.
