Notification of failed timer emails

I recently ticked the box to receive emails for failed recordings, and received two notifications. Both times the recordings seemed to be perfectly OK.

I am wondering if the ICETV email system assumes a recording failure if the Humax doesn't send a "recording complete" signal, or whether the Humax needs to send "recording failed" signal before the system sends the email.

For various reasons my wifi connection is not working at all times, and there may be no connection at the actual time of the recording. If the first option is the case I'll have to untick the box.

Thanks for any comments.

There's more discussion of problems with the new timer failure notification emails in the topic announcing the feature.

It doesn't seem to be uncommon to receive notification emails when nothing has really gone wrong. It's not an issue specific to Humax - it's being reported for Beyonwiz and PC Media Centres, too.
